List of Barton Wachs, Md's Reviews
I met Dr. Weiss when I was in the hospital. I believe he’s probably very professional at what he does and he’s been doing a long time however, he should have a PA interact with his patient next to the bedside manner. Due to the sensitivity specialty your first thought would be to deal with a male. However, position is not cutout for the public. I’m so booked up. Maybe you’ll get a consultation in the next three months and maybe you won’t letting you know that you are not a priority at all
Don't go here Usually when you tell a doctor that anesthesia doesn't work on you and that you need a specific kind of anesthesia, they listen and use the kind that works. Not this guy. I had an appointment for a consultation and told him that regular Novacaine or Lidocaine will not work and that I will need Articane. The day of the procedure I reminded him and he said 'oh...well...uh...we have something that will work'Newsflash: it didn't work. This guy is unprofessional and needs some retraining. I am still in pain over 4 days after my procedure and this is not ok.
Dr. Wachs knew what previous doctors missed, and corrected the diagnosis. He is fast and thorough with a kind staff and effective care. He is busy because he is great -- (yes, the waiting room can be a 'wait' -- well worth it)
I am 68 now and have been writing theses reviews for good and bad more than 15 years. Barton H Wachs is #1. The worst doctor I have ever seen. I use my experience with him to scale and rate other doctors. He was truly one of a kind
BEWARE of Dr cancelling appointments. Each month my dad was scheduled to see him so we could get a referral for a home health nurse to come to his board and care. Each time his office called to reschedule. Last time we were a mile away from his office and it's not easy since my dad is home bound.
Do not waste your time. They rarely answer the phones, don’t call back. They’ll have you wait 3 months for an appointment then cancel the day before due to an emergency and say they have no appointments for another 3 months out. Absolutely ridiculous for people who really need these appointments. They are extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate of your time. I wish I could report them for this because it is absolutely ridiculous. They are playing with peoples health.
I had a very disappointing experience with this vasectomy clinic. They canceled my appointment the night before the procedure, which was incredibly inconvenient and unprofessional. On top of that, the receptionist was extremely rude and unhelpful. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone seeking reliable and respectful medical care. They clearly do not value their patients' time or needs.
Dr watch’s is great , his office workers and billing are unprofessional, I’ve talked to them many times and never resolved my issue
Still in the waiting room, it's already 35 mins past the appointment time and been here for an hour already. No one informs us of what's going on and when asked, I'm told rudely by a receptionist that he's in a procedure. No idea when we're being seen. Not a good start to seeing a new doctor.
best urologist ever! (and my standards are HIGH.) and he's a total 'mensch' besides ("mensch" means "a genuine and decent and trustworth y person; someone who will treat you right, and really relate to you, and always as an equal"). there's something about the medical profession that seems to attract folks who are ok professionally, but who don't really relate to you on a human level. and for some inexplicable reason, urologists generally seem to be even worse. but it doesn't get any better than dr. bart wachs. his specialized knowledge is astonomically superior to most, and his treatments WORK. before i found him about 20 years ago, i had gone to one urologist after another, never getting any relief from my chronic kidney stones problem, which just kept getting worse and worse. it was excruciating. and every urologist i saw turned out to be someone i would never even consider going back to. i got zero help - ZERO! by then it had progressed to bouts of new kidney stones pretty much monthly. THEN I FOUND DR. BART WACHS. he prescribed 2 mild medications (one i take daily [which btw was monoxidil!], and the other one i take ever other day - plus otc potassium citrate (a common mineral supplement) i take daily. IT'S NOW 20 YEARS LATER, AND I HAVEN'T HAD A KIDNEY STONE SINCE. i have referred countless friends and family to him, and they have all come back raving. my son also developed a kidney stone problem - but same story - he hasn't had a single kidney stone since being treated by dr. wachs (one visit). also, i had an opportunity to speak to a few of the surgical team nurses at the hospital across the street from dr. wachs' office (long beach medical center), which is where he does all his surgical work). so since they all work with dozens and dozens of doctors and surgeons, i decided to ask them "who's your favorite surgeon to work with?" every single one of them said "dr. wachs." (if you really want to know about a doctor, ask the nurses who work with them. they're usually not shy to tell you - when asked - which doctors they love, which ones they hate, and exactly why). sometimes when i go in for a check-up, he says, "you live so far away now. why do you bother driving all the way down here?" my answer is always the same: "because you're the BEST UROLOGIST in california. if i lived in san francisco or portland, i would fly down for you. even if i lived in iowa, i would still fly in." i only want the best, and the best isn't necessarily convenient. & btw, dr. wachs has performed in-office vasectomies for about a dozen of my friends. not a single one has reported the slightest complication, post-op pain, or odd side effect - any or all of which are apparently quite common, even typical (but apparently only when the procedure is performed by any urologist or surgeon who is not dr. barton h. wachs!). big fan here, obviously. but i'm willing to bet that all of his patients are. any negative reviews on here are likely not referring to dr. wachs himself, or maybe a patient's expectations or comprehension were just off-base. in this age of 'reviews' - there will always still be negative reviews for any and every g.o.a.t. - and either the reviewer was a crazy person, or were just mistaken. why "mistaken"? because every g.o.a.t., in anything, don't ever do 'not great' (which is exactly WHY they're the g.o.a.t., or the 'best in class').

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
