List of Dan B. Tran's Reviews
I don't normally write reviews but I do love reading reviews before I go anywhere but with this place I took a chance even though the reviews were bad .. firstly my son and I had an appointment today at 1:45 we arrived at 1:40 I was greeted when I walked in and was told to fill out paper work before I could even finish they called my son's name to be seen not even 15 minutes later they called me my son's appointment went super quick and mines would have been to if my eyes weren't so bad lol (that's a different story) but over all I had a great experience here doctors were super informative and helpful and also super patient with my 5 year with it being his first time getting eye drops put in his eyes I will definitely be coming back here thanks
LOVE Dr. Tran and his staff. They're kind, fast and efficient. The Office Mgr. is always very helpful when I request to speak with her. Dr. Tran was very kind and patient with us. Gracious to explain everything...
Dr. Tran is unprofessional, and is clearly in the medical field for the MONEY and not for the reward of helping his patients. He has no compassion whatsoever, and is extremely cold. He treats his work like a factory. You have to wait 2 hours after your scheduled appointment time to see him, because he overbooks patients in order to make more money. My dad was diagnosed with Cogan Syndrome prior to seeing Dr. Tran. Dr. Tran was FULLY aware of my dad's Cogan Syndrome diagnosis, and given his medical training, should have used his best judgment and given my dad a full thickness corneal transplant. However, Dr. Tran only gave my dad a DSAEK, because it would require my dad to come back to him within 2 years to have another surgery. Dr. Tran did this to make more money. For a medical provider who boasts about having extensive medical experience, he acted against his ethical responsibility to give the best treatment possible, in a pathetic bid to make more profit. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
Was in and out pretty quick, great care from the doctors! The only thing I'd say is the receptionist is slightly rude but if you speak up and clarify your next appointment and treatment with the doctor you'll be fine.
this office indicated free consultation and they will charge your insurance. They lie to us for free consultation and will file California Department of Optometry. They claimed once we signed the form and liable to pay for it.
The front office staff is rude and unprofessional. They don't take the time to understand/explain what you are asking of them. On my first visit I only wanted to get a Rx for glasses and contacts. I did not want to get the Rx filled by them. They did not like that and tried telling me that it would be an extra $90 if I wanted the Dr. to write me both Rx's. I had to call my insurance provider on my cell phone and hand it to the front desk girl so that they may explain to her that she was incorrect and that both Rx's were included. After that I had to wait it the hot "waiting area" in the back. Mind you it shares a ventilation system with the Chinese Food restaurant next door, yuck! And it is packed with folding chairs, really cramped. The doctor was late so the girl from the front desk began the exam. I don't know, if any training she actually has. As for the contacts they don't seem to ever have the trail pairs in stock. I was told it would take a few days to get mine in and that the front desk would call me. A week later I finally called them about the status and they made me make an appointment for another week later. Also, my glasses Rx was written the day of my first exam but the lady at the front desk forgot to give it to me. Turns out the Dr. never signed it so I would have to come back again to pick it up. I came back twice and the office was closed for lunch both times. Apparently they get a 2 hour lunch from 12-2pm. Must be nice to work there huh?For my second appointment for my trail contact fitting I arrived 10 min before 9 am. The office was open however not one person that works the desk and checks you in got there until 9am, which was my appointment time. The doctor did not arrive until after 9:15am. I still wasn't checked in at this time by the front desk. I explained to the Dr. that the Trial lenses were hurting in my right eye. Her answer was, " You never had contacts for astigmatism before so they will feel different." For the record I have been wearing contact lenses with my astigmatism for the last 13 years. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and tried out the lenses for a week. When I went back I had the same complaint, her answer this time was I had dry eyes and should wear contacts. I brought my old Rx with me do that she may compare what I had been wearing to what she was prescribing. She went into her office and came back with 2 Rx's. She said she wrote me the new Rx and re-wrote my "Old" Rx a Ivan decide which one I wanted. When I got home I looked at the papers. She wrote the same Rx on both sheets an just labeled one "old" and one "new."I finally had to convince my insurance To reinstate my benefits for the year so that I may go to another eye doctor. I am also in the process I trying to get my insurance company to drop this doctor as a provider. This should not keep happening to patients! What a waste of time and money! Do not go here!
I got my both eyes Cataract surgery done by Dr Dan Tran. Professional, high quality work. Excellent results. Got 20/20 vision in both eyes now. Excellent and efficient staff. Highly recommened Dr Dan Tran.
The receptionist is not very friendly at all. If I wasn't already involved in our process I would not stay here. I don't like bad customer service... I actually loathe it....I believe if you don't like your job then QUIT.
This place is horrible, they tell you one thing, the day your there and tell you something different on the phone. Please don't go here.
Dr Tran is a wonderful doctor but I have learned he has little or no compassion for his patients. A film was forming over my reading eye, I have mono vision. I didn't know what it was and thought I was losing my sight in that eye. I called the office and was told the first appointment was 6 weeks and that was with another doctor. Dr Tran could not see me for 3 months at the earliest. I told them I could only see a haze with the left eye but they insisted there were no earlier appointments. Desperate for help I called a friend who recommended her eye doctor and I was seen the next day. Fortunately the problem was just a film that had formed over my eye, a result of cataract surgery years earlier. I was scheduled for laser surgery within the week and I'm able to read and use the computer once again. Although I really thought Dr. Tran was the best I will not be going back;.I like my new doctor just as well. He did a great job with what to me was an emergency, being able to use my left eye...

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
