Dr. Roger Samawi's Online Review Report Card

My husband and I love Dr. Samawi!!! He has always been very helpful and actually listens to our concerns. He is upfront and honest as well which I appreciate, while also being just an overall nice, funny, & comforting guy. Highly recommend him!

After we moved into a new neighborhood, I wanted a doctor/hospital within walking distance of our home. After researching and reading reviews of neighborhood doctors/hospitals, I came across Dr. Samawi. My husband and I are very thankful/grateful to have stumbled across this doctor and his attentive staff. Everyone is the best as is Dr. Samawi. He's the best doctor we've had in quite a while. He's cool, understanding, compassionate, focused, helpful, on time, and he actually listens and relays feedback and sometimes some of his own personal adventures/experiences too. Dr. Samawi is not just a doctor. He's a friend who cares and offers sound advice without being crude/rude nor full of ultimatums/scare tactics. We sing high-praises to Dr. Samawi to all of heaven and beyond. Dr. Samawi is truly an angel in disguise. If you don't believe me, just take a gander at his glowing smile. :)

Dr. Samawi seems pretty good, but his office staff couldn't care less. It was discovered I have extremely low iron, blood transfusion low...the Dr. I guess recommended iron pills, but when I asked one question I didn't hear back from them for a whole 24 hours and they never put any meds in for me. I'm sitting here 5 days after I found out my blood is so low that I need an infusion/transfusion and they still haven't put the meds into the pharmacy for me... there has been incidents where they left the phone on their lunch messages many hours after lunch so you couldn't contact the doctor. They lost my insurance information or better yet never put it in and made it seem like I never provided it to them...yea the doctor is fine but the staff will let you die waiting for meds. I went to another doctor to get the pills...

One of the best family doctor. Highly recommended 👌. Great experience.

He really listens, gives precise feedback, and cares about his patients

I saw Dr. Samawi as a new patient to request a referral for a specialist (he was assigned as my PCP by my HMO plan). I thought he was wonderful - kind, professional, efficient, informative. I did not have the same experience with his staff though, unfortunately. Other reviews say the staff is awesome so I'm hoping this was just a poor first impression. I was told at the end of my visit to call my insurance the following week for the referral. When I did, they said they didn't receive anything. They tried to call the office on my behalf but couldn't reach them as their answering machine said they were closed, at 2pm (Friday). I waited for the following week to connect with a receptionist and she had no idea I was waiting on a referral. She then got the information needed to start it and said it would take another week to process (two weeks later than anticipated). I was a little frustrated as I've been waiting to get set up with this specialist and it seemed like they dropped the ball. It didn't help that she was dismissive/short on the phone. Additionally, I had routine bloodwork done during my visit and was told I would need to call them back to check on the results. In the times I called, the doctor was either not there or the results were not yet read so I needed to try again later. I later found my results were posted on my patient portal a day after my visit a few weeks ago. Nothing too terrible but just an unnecessary runaround.

I asked for antidepressants because I want to die and they said no. Apparently you need health insurance. 0/10

The providers are ok but whenever you get blood work done you have to follow up or else you never find out your results. It's pretty annoying to call and you still have to wait until they call you back. Sasha the office staff is rude. Anytime you call and she answers you are put on a long hold, never returns calls, and says to call back at later time since they are swamp or short staff.

I've never had a more caring and understanding doctor than Dr. Samawi. Instead of being judgmental, he has kindly guided me on to simple ways to get my weight under control. So grateful to have him as my PCP.
