Fonda Jiang Md's Online Review Report Card

This is a second review my first addressed the staff. I have been a patient for over 20 years with Dr. Tamaroff. However, I have found a new doctor as Dr. Jaing does not seem to look at my history and has been dismissive. She diagnosed me with those different than the ones that I had before. Even though, she was told several times by myself and Dr. Tamaroff, that I am extremely sensitive to any changes in my medications. She has changed them four times. She encouraged me to continue to take medications that created dizziness and heart palpations. Also, one that I told her that was interacted with my other medications and that my doctor did not want me to take. She seemed to be dismissive, lacked understanding about my history, not knowledgeable and tentative. My recent bout with pneumonia she said it could be my sinuses or pneumonia. Three of my doctors stated that I had a mild case of pneumonia based on xray reports. She was also tentative about having me go on an antibiotic which I in fact did need. She did prescribe it though. Between that and having very unprofessional staff and office hours , found a new doctor.

From the moment I stepped into the office I was greeted immediately and kindly. There was hardly any wait, they were did well when it came to socially distancing patients in the lobby and took my information down quickly. Dr. Jiang was extremely amiable and informative when it came to my diagnosis and made sure all my questions were answered.

Went for my 1st visit today and met the office staff and Dr. Jiang. I was able to share my visit with 3 residents who were in office. Dr Jiang was pleasant and very polite and professional asking my permission for residents to observe my appt.She actually took time to listen and make eye contact. (A trait many primary drs could refresh on). She explained my results after the test, and wrote out my otc treatment plan. Id definitely recommend her to anyone in SoCal needing to resolve their allergy needs. Her office manager even did a same day Quality call to ensure all my needs were met and resolved.

I don't even know where to begin. I have never in my life felt so disrespected by a medical professional and made to feel desolate and alone. Instead of trying to help me figure out and pinpoint exactly what is wrong with me, Dr Jiang instead dismissed every concern I have because it's not the pattern she's seen in others. "I understand what you're feeling is real to you, but..." which is exactly what she said, is the medical equivalent of the bigoted "No offense, but..." or "I'm not a 'X', but..." I was referred here because for a long time, my body showed every sign of going haywire from allergies and I already have previously diagnosed asthma. My PCP specifically noted this and already started me on the typical regimen, which made me feel insanely better than I had in years. But she obviously isn't a specialist, so referred me to someone who she thought could actually help me. Boy was she mistaken.If my allergies truly aren't real, wouldn't an allergy test help take that that possibility out, so we can focus on what's instead wrong with me? She told me allergy testing would be a waste of time, but she did not say that in a medical professional way, she said that in the way of a parent speaking to a child that there is no boogieman under the bed. She ordered the tests anyways. I was clearly distressed when she talked to me. She asked me one by one what I wanted and made me feel like a fool if I were to list off more than a few. I listed very few and after receiving some eye rolls from her, kept it at that. Apparently there was a miscommunication because the lab order wasn't what I wanted. I had time to calm down, wasn't shaky or teary eyed anymore, and I asked if she could change it and she said no, it would take too much time and I would have to just tell the lab. That's not how it works. I was obviously extremely distraught before and she kept (ingenuinely) making a point to address it and let me know she was trying to help me and doesn't mean to come off the way she was. But her refusal to work with me when I clearly had a frustrating visit was the last straw to tell me she genuinely doesn't care. I went to my car, literally cried at how horribly desolate and disrespected Dr Jiang made me feel, and will not be filling any of my prescriptions or taking any of my lab orders to the lab- knowing this could be part of the key to fixing me. It's not worth having a doctor who I do not feel comfortable with and who makes me feel so completely foolish. Unfortunately, it's COVID time so making a new patient appointment anywhere takes about a month. So I will have to wait at least that long to find a doctor who actually respects their patient and has care for what they do. I sincerely hope you learn from this, Dr Jiang, and treat all of your future patients with respect and ACTUAL kindness.

I like Dr. Jiang very much, but after 20 years with this office I am looking for a new allergist. I've been a patient for more than 20 years. During that period, the office was helpful friendly, efficient, communicativen and supportive. Since Dr. Tamaroff and most of his staff left, I find them to be rude, unfriendly, disrespectful, ignoring, and impossible to actually speak with anyone. They do not have phone hours on Wednesdays . The have the phone set so that if it rings 15 minutes you have to leave a message. Just to see i called for a hour and a half. They are also unavailable from noon to 1:45pm.

Upon arriving to my first appointment- I waited two hours to see the doctor. Once the doctor came into the exam room, I mentioned the delay, and the doctor said that their schedule showed an appointment 30 minutes later then my actual appointment. This was all for allergy shots, not brain surgery. I've never seen a more unprofessional medical office. They clearly don't have any patient centered care in this office. I got the feeling that I was just a number to them and not a patient. I will say on the bright side, I found the doctor who did the initial appointment to be friendly and knowledgeable. This is my first negative review on yelp in all my years of social media, so I hope that conveys my level of frustration - especially for a health care provider (a field I work in). In a nutshell- there are other options out there for good doctors with excellent bedside manner, and competent staff members. In my opinion- they are missing a large part of that formula. It seems like (to me) the practice is run by very rude and un-empathetic individuals. I called and left 4 messages over several weeks for the doctor, the doctor never responded. I have a friend who is a physician who called the doctor to ask a question about my treatment- she didn't even call them. Just an overall terrible experience.

Such a professional environment and an even more professional doctor. Dr. Jiang took her time, was not rushing to get through with our appointment and listened attentively to everything I needed. I felt like she was the first doctor in a long time that helped me figure out what was going on with my allergies without just prescribing me the same old things every other doctor does. I have been looking for an amazing allergist for over 5 years and I have finally found one. I will not see any other doctor for any of my allergy related issues.

Hands down the best allergist around. I've struggled with nose breathing for years. Dr. Fonda Jiang is intelligent, kind, and helpful. What more can you ask for? If you're in the Southern California area, do yourself a favor and schedule a visit to find the relief to what may be bothering you. Nose spray? She's got it!
