Dr. Tran was very professional and did a great job in explaining. I very much would recommend her. However, her front desk medical assistant Ruth on two occasions would not help me even though I am standing in front of her at the front desk for about 5 minutes. I realized it was on purpose when she would greet others & not me. I waited at the front for so long with Ruth refusing to speak to me I almost left. She was really sweet to other patients and would greet everyone else that walked to the front desk. And, the only difference between me & them was my race. I will continue to go here but if this continues I will change to a different nephrologist. I am here to get an appointment slip and referral from her not for drama. I have never had someone behave this way at a dr. Office before and hope she can be more professional.
Dr Tran is a very competent, personable professional. He always maintained close contact with the family when an elderly (92 year old) member was in hospital, and took time to answer fully all questions. He listened to the concerns of the family and the patient, and took care in either explaining the situation or in responding to a problem. In my experience, medical knowledge and patientcentered fulldisclosure are not often found in doctors, but Dr Tran is exceptional in both medical and communication skills. I would certainly ask for him again, and could not have been happier with the care he gave our mother. I did not visit him in office, rather in hospital, and that is the environment to which my review reflects.
