List of Phyllis Oster's Reviews
If you weren't lucky enough to see Dr. Oster, it's too late. As of December 30th, Dr Oster officially retired. I am so bummed. Because of a possible medical issue, Dr Oster squished me in on her last day there. I may have even been her last patient - not sure. How many doctors care enough to do that? So why am I writing this Yelp review? It was because of Dr Oster, I became familiar with Long Beach Memorial; at least regarding their associated services regarding annual women's examinations. My preference had been to default to MDs associated with Cedars Sinai. They usually attended excellent schools and had excellent medical training (medical degree, internship, residency, and fellowship), and are usually Board Certified. Also, having most of my doctors within one place makes certain that the bulk of my doctors will have my latest test results, without me having to send it to them. Plus Cedars is much closer to where I live. When I was horrified to learn that Dr Oster was retiring, I started the awful process of vetting a new ObGyn. I went through all the ObGyns associated with Cedars. In addition to the MDs schooling / training, I look online for patient reviews. I was looking for a ObGyn that's "old school". That is, a female doctor, who genuinely cares about their patients, and not just about acquiring money. After researching all the ObGyns associated with Cedars, I was disheartened to find that there was not even one clear choice. All the Cedars' ObGyn doctors I reviewed had certain perceived weaknesses or questionable practices / bed side manners. I know that online reviews are not necessarily always accurate and some are deliberately written just to get back at the service provider. When I see a possible systemic issue (more then one reviewer with the same issue), I have to take pause and wonder, especially when the reviewer goes into great detail about their horrible experience. I'm about to choose a doctor who will be given intimate knowledge of my body, so, yes, I want a really good doctor.I've decided to give Long Beach Memorial another chance. I couldn't it get out of my mind the wonderful experiences I've had so far at Long Beach Memorial, as well as the wonderful facility itself. Like any large medical facility, boo boos happen. But the people all seem to genuinely want to do the very best for the clients. During my last apmt with Dr Oster, she gave me a list of the other ObGyns that are part of her group at Long Beach Memorial. Based on that list, I've made an apmt with one of their other ObGyns. Wish me luck!I wish Dr Oster the very very best during this next phase of her life. There are certain people you meet, who you automatically know "He / She is one of the good ones ". Dr Oster is one of those people. I, as well as many others, will miss her.

Dr Oster is the best, very thorough, addresses any concerns you may have and always follows up.
The best!!!!!! Assessed me and since my procedure I feel better! She and her staff are wonderful. I just love my medical office and group. I work for a health plan and this office including Dr. Oster are fantastic!!!!! Please help her reconsider retirement
One of my favorite doctors. So personable and friendly, office is great as well.
Dr Oster is a wonderful kind intelligent patient person and physician. I also appreciated the compassion and care of her medical assistant Soccorro. Both also took the time to ensure my safety and inform news of the curfew just announced by the Mayor.Thank you so much
She fit me in an emergency, even with her very busy schedule!
Dr. Oster does a great job of breaking down complicated issues and sharing important information. I appreciate that appointments can be done remotely, given current conditions.
Dr. Oster is very thorough, caring and experienced. My appointment was efficient and I did not have to wait.
She was very thorough and conscientious and took her time. Unfortunately, she is retiring at the end of this year.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
