Hi how is every one. I have been their for 4 month. Some stuff are nice like for examples the nurse are nice and polite. Most stuff are nice. Couples of them no I will say their should be a sensitive training. I know as patience we need to thank full and polite. Doctor and Nurse doing to help us to be well. My Second opinion. the place need to be comfortable see let say we get treatment. it should be something to relax. Like some music or radio so some times the pain temporary we will for get because the radio will relax us. it need to opportunity for volunteer. But no. This is my last two. Let give examples Nurse Jack. Work in Lake wood today, Tomorrow he work in Torrance , and On Monday he works is Los alamitos . If they stay same place they know us, We know them see we are human beings. My last one It has a sign let say the front desk are busy. So I come and seat of the front chair it said we will cancel your appointment and go home. But you guys need to fix come on. Even you guys are watching by security camera what we are doing no privacy for patience. If you were patience and patience we stuff. some one will complain and change rule. Because we are patience no one fix. that crazy. It is the front desk fault. it is not the patience. Fix the restroom rule. Their two restroom. So you guys say so and so go hear. That is not fare.
I have been doing treatment over their for 4 month. it is one of miss organization places. Some part is good some part it is not good. As an organization please please fix. For example their are two restroom at the places but some person who work their told. One restroom is for people who do treatment if you don't do do treatment you can not use that restroom if you are only you can use that one. But some people who work their told me you can use any of them. So which one true. Some times as a person who do treatment or if I come to see doctor or consultation it is confusing. I want every one tell me truth and respect. Please Please fix. Their is a lot more I could say.
Thanks. For couples Month I was doing Chemotherapy. Over their. Their are 6.nurse. Their are Megan ,Janet, Melissa, Emma, Janel ,Kachina. Their are the MVP. In the day of schedule. The only times they take brake is during lunch time They stand next to us. Otherwise. All the attention. On us.Their goal is always when they go home to pray for us and always be a better person. Even I am witness of their prayer. Those Nurse are always say nice thing. They comfort us. As a patience when we have bad days. They have patience they understand what we go through. I am a witness of their prayer. Even as a patience most times respect. Be nice. The front desk their are OK. To my recommendation as a patience have a little patience Since you are dealing with a lot people.

Andrea was very polite, I’m very good at explaining my situation. The thing she’s not sure snot, that my anemia has gotten worse since my ileostmy reversal operation, she is requesting labs for so we can figure out what to do about it. She very conscientious, attentive and kind.

My horrible experience with the negligent unprofessional and rude office manager. They forgot to request a bed for me and instead of apologizing turned around got angry thinking maybe by bullying me, I would go away. I did go away and left but told the doctor how I felt. Then Dr Marathe in hospital where he lied to me on the effect of my first chemo telling me there was no change when in fact the cancer has shranked 60%. My insurance liason wanted me to report him to medical board but I did not want to ruin his career. My horrible experience with the negligent unprofessional and rude office manager. My husband is in need of his medical records for another Oncologist and this place will not send the records. We have signed releases but there is always something wrong. I have been trying for about three weeks. His new Oncologist will not issue an appointment without these records. From all his doctors these people are the worst! I was told that I could pay for the records at .25 cent a sheet if I needed them so bad!!! What is wrong with this Oncologist office? If all the other doctors accepted the signed releases why can't this office? Is it about the money?? Have some compassion for people that are fighting cancer and stop making everything so difficult for the patient.
It's like Walmart, you'd think I had medi-cal as insurance. The office staff the front desk are rude and seem like they do not want to be there. The Long Beach center has a shopping center clinic feel. If you have an appointment for infusions, they are always running late and put people back there before verifying there is actually any room. It's like Walmart, you'd think I had medi-cal as insurance. .. So, I called on 1/26/21 to make an appointment with the oncologist Dr. Marathe, for my father who was just discharged from the hospital. When I called I asked the receptionist if my father would be authorized to be seen- they asked for his medical insurance information and she responds, “oh yes, the doctor is within the network. I was like that’s AWESOME!” So, he doesn’t only need to see him one-time post discharge but he will continue to be authorized to see him if needed. I get to the appointment half hour early, we complete the new patient paper. 5 minutes later I am being told that she had to send the request for authorization. Another 5 minutes fly by and she says, “I’m seeing here that although we are waiting for authorization your father will need to pay $188. dollars because he is not within network. I don’t know much of how Covered California works but I’m livid by this time because although I made the payment she came back and said that my father cannot be seen because she still didn’t have authorization. I was beyond livid at this time. I had the following words with the girl that originally made the appointment. So, it is very disheartening when we are told that my father has to follow up with Dr. Marathe, an “ONCOLOGIST” I went there worried and upset at the information I was about to receive, then they tell you he can’t be seen. So we waited a week for staff to decide to submit a request on the day-of for authorization, charge me a “copayment”, and in the end say, we can’t see you! Apparently, a patient is entitled to see an out of network doctor post surgery or admission without a payment. This practice is sooo insensitive to the patient and families. And yes, no one was friendly nor did anyone else step in to try and help. There was no manager on-site. I did report this to the manager who was off site. I wouldn’t want other families to go through something like this. So inefficient and unprofessional. Apparently the request was submitted prior but because people are working from home we fell through the cracks. Just saying just in case you are referred to this office. A call prior to explain what to expect and or the possibility that he may cancelled would have been the right thing to do.. I literally am on the phone trying to get a follow-up order for an ultrasound. I have been doing this since July 7th and have been assured the order was sent to the radiologist. It hasn't been sent. My call is important to them and they claim they have won awards, but I can't get an order for an ultrasound when I literally have been asking for one for six weeks. I have been holding for 11 minutes. (sigh)I literally am on the phone trying to get a follow-up order for an ultrasound. I must give it a 5 star (the only negative is the long wait time at the office). However, it truly is worth it because every doctor there (since 2012 for us) has provided excellent LIFE SAVING care. We are very blessed and thankful that God has provided this medical staff for us.
I was referred to dr Morrison for follow up treatment regarding a kidney cancer issue and the dr was very helpful he explained everything that needed to be done god bless him.
Terrible experience at this facility !! They have lost my blood work results 3 different times. They also never see you on your appointment time.....usually it's an hour after your appointment time was scheduled. If I could give this facility a rating of zero I would.
I rescheduled an appointment, I usually see a doctor at Long Beach office but they reschedule me to the Alamitos office to be a phone call appointment. On the appointment day somebody called me to let me know she is sign me in and that the doctor will call me on the appointment time scheduled, the was to be about four hours later from the sign in. I waited forty five minutes past the appointment to give then time, and I called to check why the doctor have not calling yet. Office personnel tell me the doctor will not call me because I need to came in person, they have plenty time from the day I rescheduled to the day of the appointment, and on the day of the appointment to let me know what was the problem, but no they did not have the professionalism to call me and let me know what was going on. Then I called Long Beach office and ask then for an appointment to see the doctor I regular see, they give me the appointment for a couple day after to be also by phone and again play game with me the doctor did not call me, then I call to check what happen and repeat the situation as previous day. Both Long Beach and Los Alamitos office have a office personnel that need to learn how to treat patients, as for me I will never go back to the Oncology Institute even if they are the only Cancer office available. I do not recommended.
