I didn't have the best overall experience with Dr. Mendez as an older woman who was still interested in pregnancy. Without knowing much of my history, I was immediately told to consider ivf and egg donors. It felt very invalidating. Older women have enough obstacles to contend with only to be invalidated by doctors who should be advocates balanced with providing helpful information. I also experienced unnecessary obstacles to a request only because she hadn't had previous experiences with my request and my request was actually pretty normal. I think doctors should work with you vs. taking an immediate "No" stance with no opportunity to discuss further. I'll be looking for someone who is more open-minded and affirming to older women who can become mothers.

Dr. Mendez-Ishizaki was very throrough and informative about women’s health. She was easy to communicate with regarding my age and the future changes to anticipate. I felt very comfortable asking questions and Dr. Mendez-Ishizaki responded with answers that were easy to comprehend and because of this interaction I have recommended Dr. Mendez-Ishizaki to family and friends.

If you want a doctor that actually cares about you, i suggest going somewhere else. Yumi was very rude and did not show any care for my wife. We found much better care at the Fountain Valley Memorial team.

The Dr. is amazing. She is thorough and honest. I had a very high level of uncertainty because of Covid and missing my yearly last year, but she put me at ease as soon as she walked in. She has the newest techniques and best procedures as far as knowledge about Fibroids. I truly appreciated her caring talk and her reassuring manner. She is awesome.
