This place is so unsafe. I lasted here one week, tried to use my coping skills to get through it. I have chronic illness, part of the reason I was here is because I nearly died from medical neglect from a medication contraindicated with my illness. They are aware of this. I asked the medical doctor, Vicky Hudson, and psychiatrist, Dr. Hoffman multiple times for a pertinent medication. This was prescribed by my outpatient providers who have known me several years. The doctors claimed that my medication I have been on for a year, was unsafe with my antidepressant. They tried to say MY physicians said it was not safe. I called/made virtual appts with my providers, they both got NO communication from this facility. I have it in writing that my physician did not receive communication from this facility. I have in writing that my medications are safe to take, and my doctor follows me very closely outpatient. I am eager to get in writing the reasoning for why Dr. Hoffman, and Dr. Hudson refused to write the order. I would like some education on why it is not safe. My doctor offered to write a letter stating my medication was safe. The nurse here informed me the letter would not matter, as the medical doctor does not prescribe extra medications. The medical doctor also assumed I had malaria based on a medication I was taking. This medication is also for autoimmune illness, which I would assume is pretty common knowledge for physicians. Why would I be in a group setting if I had malaria ? I asked SEVERAL people for my medication, a week later I still don't have it. I tell them I am leaving, and THEN the physicians want to send a message to my providers. At this point it was 7 pm so my doctors would not even be in the office. Not that this matters, but I am a registered nurse so I am aware of medical conditions and medications. Sometimes providers are more cautious when they know patients are health professionals; not sure if they knew or not. Evette is the milieu supervisor. The first time I met her she essentially demanded me to trust her. I do not trust people without them earning it. I found that strange. I spoke to her regarding my Reyvow. She tried to tell me I do not have a migraine. She is not in my body. She strikes me as a narcissist; she talks over people, and has little compassion, and is completely fake. I spoke to her about my concerns and she just cut me off the whole time. When I asked to speak, she said you need to let me finish. So she essentially talked to herself and did not hear me whatsoever. She called me "impatient" and said i do not have patience. I am a nurse, and my career literally requires me to be patient. That was SO offensive and condescending. I thought this was supposed to be a safe place. To use words like that when I have been through my own abuse and trauma, was hurtful to come from a "mental health professional". She told me it would not be a good time for me to leave that night. As if I was completely inconveniencing her. There is a lot of scenarios that have happened here that won't fit in this review. Some big points : A staff member left a patient with a large butcher knife in the kitchen alone for 20 minutes. This patient has active suicidal ideation and almost slit her wrists and killed herself. Dinner time is supposed to have at least 2 or so people cooking together. The tech, Ed, rushed this poor patient to hurry up and cook dinner alone, while she just sat at the computer and watched. We did not have the ingredients for the planned dinner so the patient had to scramble and cook something up on a whim, alone. While she was left alone, the techs in charge, Marin and Ed, left two patients alone outside who have gotten into major confrontations. This led to the one patient leaving the property sobbing. While one tech chased her to find her, the other patient developed a seizure. Ed called the patient crying "dramatic". Very affirming. I told her she is not dramatic, she is upset.

I was trapped by their fancy name and site. After a few months of working there, I realized the fakes. I believe the person who wrote a review when says is filled with favoritism and retaliation. I experienced that with the program’s president and regional director. Both are possessing a macromanaging mentality combine with poor judgment. I was traumatized and terrified by their action against me and other staff. They are making their decision according to lies and dishonesty opinion from manipulative staff who are favor staff. Every time I remember what they did to me and how they treated me. I wanted to throw up. I wish you bad karma and bad luck both of you for what you did to me and other. I hope you never find peace in your life. it is very unprofessional and evil to try destroy people's lives and reputations. I regret to work for this agency. Unfortunately, this program runs by unprofessional managers. This program is full of lies, unfairness, unprofessional attitude, and behavior. Easily you can be subject to retaliation and mistreatment. They are not supportive to their staff at any time. Easily you can get burned out. The outreach program is another story of unskilled, inexperienced, and unprofessional.They need to be trained and redirected. Need to learn first what outreach means and the goals of outreach before that learn how to be passionate and have the heart to serve people.this week I tested what a real supervisor and manager support means. The sense you missed when I was work over there. You to check that because they are lacking those skills. West of time and money. They do not deserve even one star. Is a disappointed company notpromising anything good for your future? Don't waste your time. Favoritism and distrust destroy this service and low standards managers such as the program president Regional Director, and the HR staff director. Over a year since I left this company, I feel happier and more relaxed. I can see the difference between this unkind company and where I work now. Big different. An extremely unhealthy place to be associated with. Just today I remember the HR director who is now the head employees relationship department or whatever. she is never taking the employee complaint seriously. She sided with bad people. she is unfair and not taking the employee's complaint seriously. Extremely unhealthy environment. Shame on you CEO you did see all that and never intervene to protect the agency from this kind of behavior and get rid of this dysfunctional person who destroyed people's souls and dignity. God is here. Justice will serve one day. Very toxic environment. Most weak and Disconnected management and managers. Those two ladies.Amy and Traci. I don’t know where you are in life currently. What you did to us is still fresh and will never be forgotten. Discussed program and questionable management. Micromanaging and distributing services are run by unskilled managers and leaders. Their styles are questionable. Two ways from this questionable place trauma is still there. One day will it heals. those managers ladies they don't know what are they doing. Working in place for over 20 means you are good. But the opposite. Because exposed to different. You fail to run this place.they are very mentally and emotionally abusive management. They support the bad and unprofessional behavior of some of their employees. Unfortunately, they are racist and unkind people. Bad attitudes and behavior have been tolerated in this company. Be careful when applying to work there. worse supervisor worse leaders.

I went to discovery in granet bay, California. It helped me very well and I wish I had contact with some of the staff for helping me even though it is their job I'm just thankful that I went from cutting and, taking pills, and running away to a happy stable person. Discovery changed me for the better.

didn’t actually go inpatient but the lady giving me the final assessment on the phone tried to diagnose me with bipolar and compared me to sheldon from the big bang theory in the span of an hour when i brought up the idea that i might have autism

I went here in 2021, the program manager cynthia was so rude and unfriendly. I was struggling with an eating disorder at the time and she made so many unnecessary comments about it. they tried to scare me into eating. The only good people from the program were nate and lindsay.

My teen girl attended IOP and PHP programs at the Los Al facility after a month in residential treatment in the Whittier facility. The therapists and counselors were all very helpful and sympathetic. My child felt heard and supported. Most importantly, she learned a ton of skills I could see her implementing at home. This facility was a HUGE help in restoring my kid back to her more vivacious self.

What a scam. They say all the right things for you to think that they are the right program for your child. That they can handle mental and behavioral issues. All this program cares about is billing your insurance and making money. Don't waste you time, effort and money and find some place that actually care and willing to help!
