List of Kushagra Verma's Reviews
I was referred to Dr. Verma by my PCP after I'd communicated to him some problems I'd been having as a result of a laminoplasty I'd had a couple years ago (in a different state). I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of undergoing another neck/spine surgery, because the first one (again, in another state where I used to live) was a bear to recover from and did absolutely nothing to help the issues I was having at the time. When I met Dr. Verma for the first time, though, I instantly liked and trusted him, which helped to assuage my reticence about surgery. Dr. Verma is patient but direct, and he listened to me very carefully before launching into a diagnosis. In fact, he was very measured about moving forward with any sort of recommendation until he had enough evidence (MRI, X-rays, CT scans, etc.) to make an informed (data-driven) decision. Ultimately, he recommended surgery: posterior cervical fusion. Of course, this still terrified me, especially in light of my prior experience, but at that point he had gained my full trust and I agreed to his recommendation.During my pre-op visit to his office just a month prior to the surgery, however, he presented me with a less aggressive option: anterior fusion of just the most severely impacted vertebrae. This would mean a much shorter recovery time and would likely be an out-patient procedure. Wow, what a relief that was! So, we went ahead with that approach, and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcomes. I had the procedure done at Long Beach Memorial Hospital, which was fantastic! All of the staff there--from the administrative assistants to the nurses and anesthesiologist--were outstanding and provided a level of care I have not experienced anywhere else; that is to say, top-notch. I will also mention here that the person on Dr. Verma's team who coordinated all of the logistics of the surgery, Gia Gentile, was utterly delightful. We had a few hurdles from my insurance company (always a nightmare to deal with), but Gia navigated these beautifully. The surgery itself was, as Dr. Verma later disclosed, much more challenging than he had anticipated it would be--he encountered many more bone spurs that had to be removed before he could even get to my vertebrae--but he did an amazing job. When I woke up in recovery several hours later, I could already tell I was going to be fine--I felt so much better than I had after the first procedure two years ago. And, much to my relief, I was discharged home later that afternoon, so I could begin my recovery from the comfort of my own bed. Dr. Verma called me himself in the early evening to check in, which I thought was amazing. My recovery was quick and smooth and I was even able to work remotely within a few days. What's more is the incision in my neck is healing beautifully and will likely leave only the faintest of scars. If you're having issues with your spine and you or your PCP think you may need surgery, I strongly recommend that you meet with Dr. Verma for a consultation. He is an excellent surgeon and a compassionate human. I work in higher education, specifically within a healthcare professional program, and I would love for all of my students to follow in Dr. Verma's footsteps--he is a living example of the quintessential healthcare provider.
Awesome team! Very positive, warm, and welcoming. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely professional. Excellent customer service! Thank you!
Jackie Baird-Bunker Seal Beach, CA Feb. 2021 surgery for Extreme lateral Function L3 & 4 and re fusion posterior L3 thru L5 I learned about Dr. Verma from a friend who had gone to him for a very extensive spine surgery that relieved all of her back pain. She just raved about his ability to set his patients at ease when considering spine surgery and the effectiveness of his treatments. Since I had been suffering from excruciating nerve pain for almost a year, I was desperate to find relief when Nerve blocks no longer relieved my pain so I went to see Dr. Verma. I was so impressed his office staff were very professional, wait times to see Dr. Verma were reasonable and once in his examining room I knew II was in very good hands as we talked about my severe back pain and what could be done to relieve it. CT Scans and MRIs very conveniently scheduled in an adjacent medical complex and surgery was scheduled at Long Beach Memorial. After the surgery when Dr. Verma came to see how
Dr. Verma is very attentive with his patients. Made me feel like part of the family. Thank you Dr. Verma for taking great care of my husband.

Dr Verma operated on my neck on 9-10-19. I had sustained major injuries from a bad fall resulting in multiple problems one was a need for neck surgery. I agreed to have the surgery after meeting with Dr Verma and learning how serious my neck injuries were. I skated through the surgery, with minimal pain and a quick recovery. A year later , today I could actually move my neck side to side as I haven't done in years. Of course I wanted a complete recovery of all the other injuries I had from the fall, that didn't happen, nor was it promised. I must say that Dr Verma has gone out of his way to follow up with me after the surgery, recommended me to a good PT for balance therapy. I have never met a doctor so caring and followed up as he did with my recovery.

My husband Jim and I moved to the L. A. area 1 1/2 years ago. My husband needed to see a back and neck surgeon. We were recommended to see Dr Verma. Jim needed neck surgery and then back surgery. Dr. Verma talked to us many times explaining the procedures before Jim made his decision to go with the neck first and then his back. Dr Verma is very compassionate. he takes time listening to his patients. He makes sure you're comfortable with the procedure he will be doing before your surgery date. Dr. Verma is a 5* surgeon and 5* for personality.
I am making this review for a friend John D. He had severe back pain for approximately 3 months; after trying accupuncture and chiro (some relief but not enough as pain elevated), he was referred by OptumCare, Seal Beach to Dr Verma. He saw Dr Verma and within a week an MRI was scheduled. Shortly after that appointment his surgery for L4/L5 Sciatica was scheduled. Post MRI Johns pain became so horrible (not sleeping, unable to be comfortable in any chair at home or in car and unable to walk due to excruciating pain prior to the scheduled surgery) that Dr Verma pushed up the surgery date. Within hours after the surgery it was evident that he was pain free. He is standing staighter walking with ease. It was an amazing transformation from what he was experiencing.Dr Verma was and is still, in constant imediate contact with him regarding the healing process. As the author and the gf/nurse of the patient who was at times a little cranky.....Highly reccomend. So thankful for the professionalism and care from Dr Verma and his team.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
