The absolute BEST oncology office in the world! Dr. Dungo and Dr. Curti are brilliant doctors and the office staff is fantastic, caring and quick to help with anything a patient needs! Dr. Dungo treated me for Breast Cancer and her brilliance and her LOVELY bed side manner got me through the hell that was chemo, surgery, radiation and post cancer meds. The oncology nurse (Laura) who did all of my infusions is the best in the business. Kind, friendly, knowledgeable and sympathetic to the horrors the patients go through in chemo. The office staff is phenomenal! I was in there 6 times over 18 weeks and they kept me smiling and laughing and made me feel right at home.... Big love to Suzanne, Oscar and Courtney! Whenever I go in the office to see Dr. Dungo, it takes extra time because I need to visit and laugh with the staff for a while! Though Dr. Curti didn't treat me directly, he was always there with a smile and asked how I was doing...he was really invested in my case and reassured me that I was going to be OK! Now that my spouse has been diagnosed with cancer, the FIRST call was to Dr. Dungo so she could work her medical magic the same as she did for me. We know for a fact that we are in the BEST possible hands and we are confident that with Dungo and the rest of the staff on the case, all will (hopefully) be well in a few months.... FIVE STARS!!!!! You won't regret calling Los Alamitos Hematology Oncology if (God forbid) you need their services!
No code of ethics here with the phone staff. My girlfriend got a phone call stating her 6 month follow up had been cancelled. She had a DVT and needed to see if she was going to be continuing of blood thinners. The secretary was extremely rude and unhelpful. She just called and said her appointment was cancelled. No explanation on why. The secretary insisted it was not 6 moths, she did not know it was already 6 month. No evidence and lack knowledge. Thankfully she has a PPO and will be going somewhere else who cares. No advocacy towards the patient, no altruism, no autonomy No human dignity No integrity no justice no beneficence no professionalism, no communication. As medical professionals you should know better.

Dr. Curti and the staff are truly a bright spot in my journey. Every time I’m in the office (which is a lot) the staff is courteous, kind, and professional.
I had a horrible encounter with an employee by the name of Janet on the phone. Janet was extremely rude and made my experience calling 1000 times worse. She needs customer care training Asap. Its sad that one person can damage your entire experience. I will never come/or recomment anyone to this facility.
My mother was being treated there for Meylofibrosis close to seven years. Her original doctor was Dr Janis. He was a good doctor and she loved him. After Dr Janis became ill and could no longer see her Dr Reddy took over. Long story short she was having some difficulty taking a deep breath but could breath ok. It was her enlarged spleen that was causing it. Dr Reddy told her he would like to prescribe a new drug called Jakafi, specifically for shrinking her spleen. The cost was $9000./mo. His exact words were "take this it will make you feel so much better". She took it for three months. It did not shrink her spleen. It caused her to gain more than 60 lbs of body fluid. When that didn't work he wanted to do ten radiation treatments and cause her to suffer even more. It was difficult for her to even get in the car to go have the treatments. After suffering through two radiation treatments. She told us to fire her doctor and that she wanted to go home and wait for the Lord to take her. At that time, she went on hospice at home May 2014. We celebrated her 85th birthday May 22, 2014. She was begging for oxygen and died choking on her own body fluids on Aug 6, 2014. Her cause of death was severe edema. Dr Reddy doesn't even deserve one star after causing her to suffer so much.
First time here and I just want to say Dr Konyalian Viken is a very nice and knowledgeable and told me what I have to do b4 my surgery. Answered all my questions. Also Thank you to Patty she was very helpful and very nice and helpful.
Dr Curti is the best. I recently had a bad experience with his office and wrote a really nasty review. I had decided to leave the office and search for anew hematologist. I found one in Long Beach and that Dr told me that Dr Curti was the best. During this time, Dr. Curti was calling me to help me and let me know what steps he had taken to fix the problem. When you're sick, you don't always think clearly or rationally. Anemia can make you crazy. My cognition was off and I was very depressed. But Dr Curti saw right through that. He helped me. I'm still dealing with my anemia 14 months later but he's helping me and he's not giving up. His staff is wonderful and after our little bout, I few like they are part of my health team. I had written a terrible review before, but after all they have done, they don't deserve it. Dr Curti WILL help you. And along the way if things get bumpy, tell him. He will help you. Best Doctor Ever!
Dr Curti is a wonderful doctor and I am sorry that his staff is absolutely terrible. They are cold callous and rude. I had been dealing with severe anemia for years and finally it got bad enough that I needed medical intervention. He helped me and got me to feel better. Unfortunately you have to deal with his staff to have anything done. A year later I was sick again with extremely low levels of hemoglobin and required a blood transfusion. When Courtney called to advise me that I needed a blood transfusion I cried - I was scared and Courtney laughed at me. "Oh it's easy peasy." I wish I had the guts at that at time to stand up for myself but I didn't. Everyone in the office from Barbara the office manager to Courtney his nurse and Jeanette who says "I'm just office staff" is rude. You'll need to advocate for yourself and have a thick skin to deal with them. Dr. Curti you're an amazing doctor but your staff needs sensitivity training and customer service focus. They also need to know that your patients are sick and scared and not always rational and if they can't handle that - they are in the wrong field. If you read the reviews below - Kris is the only saving grace at this office. But she is no longer there.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
