Believe the reviews. You know a place is poorly run when you wait over an hour for your first appointment. I ended up just walking out, think I dodged a bullet after reading some actual patient experiences.

Believe the reviews and be prepared to wait 45-1hr for your appointment. Just walked out after waiting for 50 minutes.

Dr.Tekeste is THE best.Kind,professional and a wonderful Doctor. She really listens and goes out of her way to make sure the patient is feeling better.

I've been going to SoCal Gastroenterology since 2020. Initially, Dr. Nguyen performed my procedure and I was very happy with her expertise, professionalism and bedside manner. My first experience with Dr. Chen was in 2021. He performed my endoscopy. I don't have any complaints. Although he's a man of few words, I feel he performed the procedure with competence. I was also elated to hear him say, "No cancer was found!" Fast forward to April 2025. I was scheduled to repeat the same procedure from 2020 but this time Dr. Chen performed the procedure. I was unaware that if you don't specify your choice of physician when scheduling, the staff selects. I wasn't happy about that, since most people usually the same physician they had before. Anyway, again, I had no issues with Dr. Chen. The only complaint I have is that I couldn't get an appointment until the office sent me paperwork (having to do with Medicare). I never received the paperwork and I had to contact the office again to restart the process. This took nearly a month before I could make an appointment. Also, I wasn't provided with the pre-procedure instructions in a timely manner. I had to call the office and request that information. Fast forward February 24, 2026. A copy of my test results for my procedure was not available through the Portal so I called the office to request a copy. Cindy (Medical Records) contacted me to confirm my email address and I just received my request. She was very helpful, professional and personable.

This was the best colonoscopy I have ever had. From the very start to the complete procedure everyone was on their a game. They also did a complete follow up and made sure I was OK. I would highly recommend the whole team to anyone that I know.

Best experience ever !!!! I have been suffering with a lot of GI related issues and the provider has helped me with everything. I really recommend this office ! The staff were also very nice and the whole office was super clean !

Do not go and see Dr. Chen for a colonoscopy or anything GI related. He will definitely do the procedure and charge you a couple thousand dollars, but if you have a post procedure complication like a perforation, obstruction, tear, severe dehydration or rhabdommyolysis he will leave you abandoned with no follow up appointment. This is a money grab for strictly a procedure and if you have a complication, he could care less. You will suffer your fate in a D+ rated ER.

They screwed up my whole colonoscopy appt. Gave me wrong instructions and when I tried to call the Dr Tekesti never returned my calls and just left me hanging . I had to cancel the appt after not eating the whole day. I also had to miss work for the s he filed appt that never happened. Don't go here they suck! Zero stars!!!

If I could do it all over again I would RUN. This experience with this office has been a nightmare. My medical information in records is a complete mess for something so serious, half of it is wrong. They did surgery and it was horrible, totally incompetent. Doctor in front of me spoke disrespectfully of patient who called in scared because bleeding after procedure. Couldn't get my info straight for surgery, very scary experience. I know there aren't a lot of specialists, but I would NOT recommend this doctor at all costs NO.
