Review Summary
Kaplan & Widelitz Pediatric Group received 58.5% positive feedback, with patients praising the doctors' care and professionalism, the separate waiting rooms, and the convenient scheduling. However, 41.5% of the feedback was negative, primarily citing rude front office staff, long wait times, and incorrect billing. Overall, the practice is appreciated for its excellent medical care, yet improvement in customer service is needed.ScoreDoc Score

Samantha T, who does referrals is the best. Having a medically complex child, we are always needing different referrals. Samantha has been kind and efficient in helping us. My kids sees Dr. Tran and she's always nice. Parking situation isn't great, you do have to pay to park.
The doctors here are generally very caring & attentive. Unfortunately, the front office lead, Samantha, & the office supervisor, Sherry, bring down the rating of this facility to 1 star. It's a shame when a group of doctors are great at what they do but their front office staff ruin it for their patients & family. I called in for a simple question about a rx and I got my head bitten off by some egotistical office lead. Then, I got transferred to the supervisor who wasn't much better, very condescending & overly sensitive. I was only calling about my child's rx and had to spend 20 minutes on the phone with two women who need to be re-trained in customer service & overall empathy. And by the way, Samantha claimed that she is NOT customer service. This is a PEDIATRIC office, humble yourself and know that your job is to SERVE the patients that come in, aka, CUSTOMER SERVICE. Would you trust your child's care to an office that behaves like this?? I'm very worried that my child's issue is not being handled out of spite, how awful is that?? I hope the physicians here do some damage control because from reading the reviews below, this is sorely needed.
BULLIES. My 3 kids have gone here for a few years and have had no problem. It wasn't until my youngest came along that the problems started. We wanted to space out shots and avoid some for now. We have been doing so and are only behind one shot. We just got a letter in the mail today that we were kicked out for violating their vaccine policy. Mind you two of my kids are fully vaccinated. I am so disappointed. Ultimately I am the parent and will gladly take my kids to a place that understands I have the final say in their healthcare.
I wasn't planning on driving to Los Alamitos for my son's well being visits during his infant years but because of Dr. Fukami, this is our go to for his vaccinations & for any other visits. Not going to lie the building itself is old, musty & an eye sore - especially the inside. What's also annoying is the parking lot is not free. There are spots on the street & regular street parking spots - but beware some of the street parking requires a permit which is just annoying. Just be sure to read the signs if you're parking on the residential side ! I appreciate how there's a 'well' waiting room & a 'sick' waiting room. Our visits are pretty short & we always spend more time waiting than the actual visit. We love Dr. Fukami ! She is very kind & gentle. I also have dealt with Dr. Tosu who also is very nice. I thought it's strange how the Dr does administer the vaccinations, the nurses do that. Other than the parking & the building being old & musty, no complaints so far !
Wife and I are very happy with the care and service provided by this group. They staff a number of doctors so their availability is great and their wait times are very short. Just today, we had a 10:30am appointment, arrived 15 minutes early and were seen right away. We've seen 3 doctors here and each of them (along with the nurses) made my daughter comfortable. There is paid parking inside the plaza or you can find free parking on the streets surrounding the building. The business plaza is adjacent to a neighborhood so be mindful of the street signs as some areas are permit parking only.
Absolutely recommend! They are all so kind and the doctor is so nice and asks all the questions needed and let's you ask any and doesn't rush. My son loved the place also and everyone there.
We have seen Dr. Tran and Dr. Fukami. Both extremely nice and great at listening and giving medical advice. The office staff are all friendly. I also appreciate how you can call in and speak with an advice nurse. As a first time mom who is still learning everything having an advice nurse or if it's a weekend having a CHOC advice nurse is SO convenient. I highly recommend this place!
This review is late, but I don't care. I took my son here years ago and interacted with Barbara, the nurse practitioner. Was great interacting with her in person. However, she was a rude and snarky witch (prefer to replace the w with a b) on the phone! Don't know what her issue was, but definitely needs to work on how she interacts with people on the phone. Simple customer service 101 training is highly recommended, Barbara sweetie.
Excellent doctor She is our favorite at LOS AL PEDS. She is always so kind, gentle, and patient.
As a physician, I only want the best for my children and I have found that in Dr Fukami! She is incredibly smart, kind, sweet, and very thorough! She follows up on the children even after the appt with phone calls despite being super busy! I highly recommend Dr Fukami! She is the best!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
