List of Debra Babcock's Reviews
Debra is a remarkably skilled dedicated & knowledgeable
My two children who are now teenagers have been seeing Dr. Babcock since they were born. I have found Dr. Babcock, her associates and the advise nurse Janice very helpful over the years. Dr. Babcock spotted a couple of issues at birth and recommended to see specialists immediately. Thankfully, the problems were outgrown and no major interventions were required. We can always get same day appointments when needed. When I called to ask for advice especially those first few months of motherhood, I always received very helpful answers. Recently, my daughter sprang her ankle and she was offered to borrow crutches without charge. However, I can't say I am in favor of the recent merge with Stanford Medical and the additional student intern in the room to take notes. The visit does not feel as personal/family like as before.
Dr Babcock is the best pediatrician I have met. She is diligent, caring, extremely knowledgeable and aware of all new technological advancement in mental health. I give her my highest recommendation.
Practicing 35 years and 8 reviews to date. This should be an indicator for anyone seeking her services. I can't provide specifics however on the front desk there is a sign that essentially stated if you have any concerns regarding the way she practices medicine on your child, you are welcome to find another doctor. I wish we had heeded the warning. I am sure her dictatorial practices helped with the valuation of her firm when Stanford purchased her firm recently. By no means did it have anything to do with the well being of my kids. If you don't do any research and provide blind faith to this doctor, the beauty is that you will never know what we now know. Run.
Everything has been really smooth for our newborn here. Super friendly and helpful. No complaints at all.
This entire place is so full of itself. It's like you the patient are in their way. I found the doctor very patronizing, and when you do leave the practice they will charge you a small fortune for your own records. $100 for my four kids. I get that there are expenses with such things, but they could forward them to another doctor without those expenses. They don't do that. They have their system blocked to other doctors. But the worst thing was my kids just didn't like her. If you want to wear Prada to take your kids to the pediatrician, this is the place.
Dr. Babcock was recommended to me by my obstetrician and when my daughter was born we went straight there. During our first visit with her she seemed great- very knowledgable, well informed about recent developments etc. there wasn't much interaction since the nurse had explained most of the things we needed to know. The next few appointments she wasn't available and we saw other doctors in the practice. We finally saw her again when our daughter was ill and the experience was completely different. She scowled at us and told us that we needed to give our 6 month old antibiotics and when I told her I was concerned about the side effects for such young children, she condescendingly told me that even if newborns needed it they give it to them like I wasn't aware of that. What I wanted was for her to inform us of the benefits and drawbacks of using the antibiotics so that we could make a well informed decision. I understand that pediatricians are often inundated with questions from parents but I would like to see a doctor who is willing to take the time to discuss my child's wellbeing with me.
My girlfriend recommended Dr. Babcock and we're so glad she did. We are very pleased with Dr. Babcock. She is very personable and is very gentle with our newborn. She explains everything thoroughly and provides great advice. Dr. Babcock has a great background as well: BS from Stanford and MD from Boston University. In the office, there is a small waiting room within a bigger room just for newborns. The office is great as newborn appointments are scheduled during the Dr's lunch so sick kids aren't around your newborn, but the downfall to that is when you leave, the receptionist is gone for lunch too. I would advise that you schedule your next appointment when you check in or else you will have to call the office.
Dr. Babcock is an excellent pediatrician. My son is a 24 week premi. Since his immunity was very low, he had lot of issues till he was 4. He is 4 1/2 now. Dr. Babcock is very knowledgeable and she is doing an excellent job for our son. As someone mentioned she really takes time and is never rushed. She understands the confusion and anxiety of the parents and consulting her always helped us understand things more clearly and calmed us down in every emergent situations. We always found her to be the best of all the (many) doctors we had met for my son in the last 4 1/2 years. We highly recommend her.
Worst customer service ever. Here's the scoop -- they ask you to make an appointment at least 2 months in advance for a well-visit. Then they call you a few weeks before the appt to reschedule, since the doctor's schedule has changed since you made your appointment. Then, on the day of your appointment, the doctor shows up at least half an hour late. They trap you inside a small airless exam room with your x-month old child and do not tell you if the doctor will be late, or how late the doctor will be late. And then if you complain that you weren't seen even remotely close to your appointment time, they give you some bs about how they need to double- and triple-book appointments for the sake of the children.Save yourself the grief. Find another pediatrician.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
