List of Pt Works's Reviews
I would like to give praise to Valerie. She is an incredibly knowledgeable therapist and a great caring person. Valerie helped me through my complicated recovery and fixed the damage that was done to my back by a therapist in another pt place. I am almost fully recovered but will still be seeing her for check ups. I highly recommend her to everyone!
Absolutely exceptional, life-changing care. PT Works is a treasure, and it is a joy to work with Kristin and her staff. There's a level of detail and personalized attention that has made the experience at PT Works incredibly affirming. Being able to move forward in a healthier way is so often the result of people really caring: so thankful to have found that here.
I have been a loyal patient at PT Works in Los Altos for over 20 years, and I can say that Kristin Shadduck, the senior physical therapist, is probably one of the best.. Kristin's professionalism and dedication are both of very high standard, not only in terms of diagnosis and treatment but also in the overall care she provides to her patients. When it comes to treatment, Kristin's skills truly shine. She employs a diverse range of techniques and modalities, tailored specifically to address individual needs. Whether it's therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, or innovative approaches, Kristin consistently demonstrates her mastery of various methods. Her gentle yet firm guidance throughout the process helped greatly every time in my recovery-being. Beyond her exceptional technical abilities, is her genuine care and compassion. She creates a warm and welcoming environment, where patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns and goals. Kristin actively listens and communicates with empathy, ensuring that she fully understands the challenges her patients face. It's clear that she views each individual as more than just a patient; she treats them as if they were her own family.
This has been my best experience with physical therapy, having been to three other places. Excellent treatment and education by 5 different practitioners. The techs who set up ice and STEM are very proficient and pleasant, as are those working at the front desk. Facilities are clean and pleasant with lots of natural light.
My experience at PT Works was unfortunate and very horrifying. I had two therapists who paid no attention to my Doctor's instructions or my x rays. I was given exercises that put my back in debilitating spasms where I could not walk without excruciating pain.
I was a patient here for a serious, chronic injury. My therapist was Michael Croft, one of the owners. He behaved inappropriately towards me, in a way that threatened my medical care. He ended up terminating my care abruptly, causing me a lot of physical pain and a decline in my health that still persists over a year later. When I told the other owner, Kristin, about what Mike had done, she asked me to keep it quiet for the reputation of the business. For the following year, Mike continued to work and treat patients, who were not told about his behavior (although everyone on the staff knew). When I expressed how inappropriate I thought it was for him to continue working as usual and for his other patients not to be allowed to make an informed choice, the only response I got was that none of the other staff were engaging with Mike, so his work experience would be unpleasant. I left this situation not only with increased physical pain and disability, but feeling incredibly powerless and unimportant because of the way the situation was handled. Mike was supposed to take care of my health; instead, he used me to fulfill his own needs and then abandoned my care when his needs changed. No one stood up for me or helped me except one of my family members, who reported Mike to the PT Board because he had violated CA law as well as professional ethics. I was not cared for here, as a patient or as a person.
I witnessed and benefitted from a depth of knowledge and diagnostic talent in Valerie, a therapist at PT Works. My problem was a recurring palsy I experienced in my hands when bicycling, indoor and outdoor, that consequently started to occur at night when I tried to sleep. The numbness and tingling interrupted my sleep on too occasions, especially on one hand. Valerie identified the problem right away and gave me simple exercises and stretches which greatly eased the problem. She also taught me a new bicycle posture which also has made a significant reduction in the symptoms that used to plague me. Thank you, Valerie!
They are first rate all around.
I came to PT Works for treatment for elbow and shoulder issues at the beginning of the year, working with two different therapists (Greg and Mike). They were closed briefly for COVID-19, but when they re-opened, I was comfortable going back because I'd noticed their good cleaning and hygiene practices before the pandemic. They've made every effort to make it a safe environment for therapy. Both therapists (one before and one after the shut down) were both very good. I definitely made great progress. Pluses are cleanliness of the site; expertise and personality of the staff; attention to my questions and level of discomfort/pain; and attention to my form when performing exercises. No negatives, other than I'm sorry to be done with physical therapy.
From the front office staff to the therapists, these folks are the best in the Bay Area

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
