List of Rodney Wong's Reviews
Dr. Wong was the on-call orthopedic surgeon when I was brought in with a broken femur. This is the only reason he treated me. I did not choose him. After surgery, at the hospital, I heard him tell the nurses he did not want to answer my questions because he wanted to go home. I also found out later there were two ways he could have repaired my leg, but he did not discuss these options with me. For every follow-up appointment at Dr. Wong's office I had to wait over two hours past my appointment time. There was one exception: I made sure I was his first appointment--I had to wait an hour and he saw many patients that arrived after I did before he saw me. In the exam room, he explained nothing. At one appointment all he said was , "OK, see you in a month." He prescribed no physical therapy. The in-home physical therapist the hospital set up for me had to discharge me because Dr. Wong did not return her calls. He did not answer questions I called in by phone. He ignored the fact that the brace he gave me did not fit. He knew I needed a hip replacement and x-rayed my hip without my permission every time I saw him for follow-up appointments for my femur break. The break in my femur did not heal and I now have to have a bone graft. I have had many joint replacements that have healed quickly. I don't know whether what Dr. Wong did impeded my healing, but he could have prescribed physical therapy and electrical bone growth stimulation and he did not. There are many orthopedists to choose from in the Bay Area. Skip this one.
AWESOME! Dr. Wong performed reverse shoulder replacement surgery in November. The surgery was essentially an emergency as a result of an accident. He accepted me as new patient, without delay and scheduled the surgery immediately. Everything went as discussed and as planned. I'm recovering well and in physical therapy now.Dr. Wong is extremely capable, knowledgeable, professional and a very nice person with a high level of humor to his personality, which makes what can be an awful situation very bearable. His passion for performing procedures is so evident. I highly recommend Dr. Wong. He is THE BEST!
On September 01, I fell at home and broke my left arm. The break was bad and I went to El Camino Los Gatos Hospital where Dr. Rodney King performed surgery. There were no casts, instead titanium plates and screws were used to put me back together. While nurses and others told me it would be six months to heal, I was back driving and using my left hand in 2 months. I credit Dr. Wong and physical therapy for my rapid recovery.
Can't say anything about Dr Wong, but the customer service is very poor, particularly, Brandy, answering the phone is unprofessional and rude. Called twice with one week interval for my husband's surgery status, promised to find out and call back once, second time same story. When I called third time and questioned her about not calling back, she started yelling at me that they are short on staff, she is the only one working for two offices, and she is not going to call me back until she finds out. And hung up... Well, bye-bye, Dr Wong.
I sat in the waiting room an hour and twenty five minutes. They called another patient in that arrived after me. That patient was not in an emergency situation. I have no idea why they made me wait so long, then took later arrivals. At that point I decided not to wait any longer and left. The person that walked in just ahead of me had an appointment for the same time as mine. Why do they book more than one person for the same time?
He has been more than helping me rehab a broken finger, and is also addressing my shoulder issues. Great staff and Dr Wong has fantastic bedside manners - a major plus with doctor's.
I highly recommend Dr. Rodney Wong and his staff, because of their care. Usually, it is very hard to book an appointment with him, but, he was able to reserve an appointment for me the next day after breaking my ankle. He went out of his way and was able to schedule a surgery for me in a couple of days. Surgery was successful. During the coronavirus season, when most of the doctors are only doing virtual meetings or advice patients to go to the ER or urgent care instead, Dr. Wong still see me for follow-up after the surgery. I consider myself very blessed to have them during my mishap.
DR. WONG HAS DONE 4 SURGERIES ON ME AND NEVER ANY PAIN AFTER, AND 3 OF THEM WERE ON THE KNEE'S AND WAS ABLE TO WALK SAME DAY. I CAN SEE HIS BRAIN THINKING ABOUT THE BEST WAY TO DO THE SURGERY AS YOUR TELLING HIM ABOUT YOUR PROBLEM. THERE USED TO BE LONG WAIT TIMES, BUT HE GOT THAT FIXED. I AM TRULY BLESSED TO HAVE BEEN RECOMMENDED TO HIM. HE IS A VERY COMPASSIONATE DR. THANK YOU DR. WONG!
Rodney Wong takes advantage of his patients. If you value your well-being, time and money, I genuinely recommend that you visit another doctor. My experience: I went to Dr. Wong for advice regarding a bruise on my leg. I arrived to the office and waited in the lobby for an hour before given the opportunity to see the doctor. He took a look at my leg, performed an x-ray, and insisted on a MRI. He explained that the bruising was caused by inflated scar tissue and gave me an injection to reduce the swelling. This part was tolerable. The doctor recommended coming back in a month for follow-up, which I did. I waited in the lobby for an hour (there seems to be a trend here). He glanced at my leg and said all was fine - I was out of the room in less than two minutes. I received the medical bill and was astonished by the charges, which totaled almost $1,500. $450 for being a new patient, which in itself is outrageous.I understand that we live in a time where medical visits and examinations often come at a great cost. But, if you're given a choice to choose a doctor to provide for your needs, I truly hope you'll look elsewhere.
I had a complicated Tib Fib fracture when I was 17 years old. Dr. Wong took great care of me. I had a stainless steel rod inserted and a total knee replacement. I am now 45 and have had no issues since I was 18. I have seen so many horror stories through the years and just had to give him and his staff a greatly deserved review. Thank You Dr. WONG!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
