Dr. Gil and his staff have been the reason I have coming to their office for years! Ruzanna has always been amazing and caring to with my needs and concerns. Dr. Gil always starts off with how I doing and small talks to ease any discomforts I might have. It’s always a pleasure coming to your office!! Thank you! I scheduled a 10am appointment and wasn't seen until 12:30pm because the doctor wasn't in the building. Any of the things I brought up with the doctor about my health, he blamed them on something else. No matter how much I advocated for different preventive care options, the answer was "no."I switched doctors and now I receive the best care I have ever received. I will never go back, and I suggest you look elsewhere for quality medical care.
Dr. Alejandro E. Gil is accepting new patients at this office.
He would really take the time to see whats your problem
I liked this practice and saw Dr Gil until my insurance suddenly said he was no longer active in my medical group. I called and was told by Dr Gil's office that he is active in the Good Samaritan group so I called my insurance again and switched to that group so I could keep him as my PCP. However, my insurance couldn't assign him to me- they told me he is not showing as active in any medical group at all. They tried to call and left a message telling Dr Gil this. I also called Dr Gil's office again and was told they'd try to call my insurance and straighten it out, but they never got back to me and they havent responded to my insurance company, my voice mail, or my email. I tried several times talking to both the office staff and my insurance company because Dr Gil is close to my house and helped me when I was on disability after an accident. Kathy from the front desk was also very nice and helpful. However, Dr Gil wasn't active as a provider. I never got an explanation. I have anthem blue cross through the city of LA. Not sure what this was all about but they lost a patient.
Doctor Gil is a wonderful doctor. The office is equipped with all the necessary equipment in the office for general blood work, urine tests and even an EKG. MD Gil was compassionate and had great bedside manner. He made me laugh throughout the visit and his warm personality made my visit that much more enjoyable.
this was one of my worst experiences at a doctor's office on medi-cal, which is saying a lot. This doctor is incredibly offensive. For example, I came in for advice on sleep apnea and he instantly recommended I get bariatric surgery, assuring me my skin would look tight afterwards like in "those photos of concentration camps". This was one of many sickening comments that I'll always remember.
I am scheduled for surgery for a full hip replacement this week, a necessity which would not have arisen if Alejandro Gil had dealt with my steadily deteriorating mobility years ago. Gil watched how walking became significantly more difficult for me over the years, to the point of using a cane and sometimes a wheelchair, and never once even suggested that I get an x-ray or an MRI. He watched me walk to the restroom on one office visit in 2017 and said to me, "You walk like a dog." He did nothing whatsoever to suggest a course of orthopedic treatment or to help me in any way. It is only by getting away from him and finding competent medical help that I find myself properly diagnosed and on the road to healing, thank God.I note with some amusement that there is a new "review" from yet another obvious paid shill, "Dan R" who rhapsodizes about Gil's excellence and "great talent for diagnosing conditions." That is laughable, but don't take it from me, take it from the State of California. Here is a link describing one of Gil's patients who was mis-diagnosed and who ended up being hospitalized with a ruptured appendix. www2.mbc.ca.gov/BreezePD…It says right in the complaint that this great diagnostician, Gil, "engaged in an extreme departure from the standard of practice in the care and treatment of patient S.H." and then it goes on to describe the particulars, of failing to perform and document the proper tests.Gil has been reported to the Medical Board any number of times, he was on probation from 2004 to 2009, and possibly more times that I haven't found. His license is currently restricted. Recurrent themes that arise are:1. Failure to do proper tests2. Failure to do proper documentation3. Failure to properly advise patients regarding follow up care4. Wildly inappropriate prescription of medication5. Grossly unprofessional comments and actions. My favorite anecdote is in this same link where Gil does a totally unnecessary examination of a woman's breasts, asking her if they "are hers.""Then, without asking C.W. Respondent [Gil] reached under her blouse, lifted up her bra, and used his hands to cup and roll each breast separately for about thirty seconds each, and then cupped and rolled both breasts simultaneously. While performing these acts, Respondent asked C.W. if her breasts belonged to her. When she replied that they did, Respondent remarked that her boyfriends must be very happy."The rest of Dan R's review talks about Gil always researching new treatments and inspiring confidence. Read the link above, and go to the Medical Board website and read everything on file there about this horrible man. See if what's there indicates to you a person who's on top of cutting edge procedures and who inspires confidence. What I know is that in addition to nearly killing me with mis-prescribing Xanax, he caused me years of pain and suffering because he could not diagnose arthritis and a degenerative hip condition, maladies which pretty much leap out at you. It took other doctors to do that and I am now looking at achieving a greater level of health and happiness than I ever had under Gil's incompetent, not to mention boorish, ministrations. Gil's license comes up for renewal in August, 2019, and if there is any justice in the world, he will lose it.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
