Benjamin Basseri's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Basseri has been recommended to me by two different doctors so I have attempted to schedule an initial consult but have not been able to reach anyone and have not received a call back. I left my first voicemail for his assistant Patty on 7/1/22. I left my second voicemail on 7/13/22. I am leaving this review in hopes that he or someone in his office might see it and call me back. He is a SIBO specialist and I would very much like to see if he can help me. It does concern me that if it's this hard to connect with this office, how hard is it if you need to follow up on care once you are a patient? I will adjust my review if I do hear back...I hope I will. UPDATE: 7/18/22 I got voicemail today from Patty who told me that she gets help with returning calls from office assistants and that unfortunately my messages got lost in the shuffle (but they were able to find them after looking for them). I was able to reach her directly when I returned her call today and I now have an initial consult scheduled for later this week. I hope it will go well!

Dr. Basseri made my mom and I feel very comfortable our first visit. He made the visit very pleasant for us.

Dr. Basseri gave me my life back. I highly recommend him.

Called to schedule as a new patient and I have platinum ppo and they said he charges $400 for new patients regardless of insurance. Wtf??! If your contracted with the insurance  you can't make up your own fees. Called my insurance so hopefully they do the investigation on this doctor . Scam !

I can recommend Dr. Basseri without reservation. He has been my gastroenterologist for several years, and I have found him to be thoughtful, caring and very thorough. I think he is very knowledgeable and a great diagnostician. He is one of the rare physicians who has returned my call after hours when I truly needed that attention. I would recommend him to my family and friends.

Where to begin. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr Basseri, his assistant Patty and anyone I have ever spoken to at this office. I have been a patient for several years. I first went to see him for SIBO since he is one of few, or at least at the time, who knew much about it. He is with Cedars Sinai, which is an added bonus since their GI team are leading the research in SIBO. I have also had several colonoscopies and endoscopies by Dr Basseri. He found colon cancer the first time and I am now 5 years cancer free thanks to his finding. He, along with the great Oncologist he referred me to, and the surgeon, he referred me to, saved my life. The colonoscopies and endoscopies are always done with care and at whichever location is best for me at the time. Insurance sometimes makes it better for me to have it at a surgery center and other times at Cedars. He will do it wherever I prefer. He has also got me in for an emergency endoscopy the day after Thanksgiving when I had an intense burning in my abdomen that seemed to come out of nowhere. Dr Basseri is up on the latest treatments for SIBO, which is hard to treat and reoccurs in most patients. He knows exactly how to get the prescriptions approved without me having to do the legwork with my insurance company for prior authorizations etc. Patty also does all the legwork with my insurance for procedures. They take the headache out of any of my GI related healthcare. It really makes a difference. I have many health issues and have had to google and learn a lot. I am not a doctor but I appreciate that he listens to me and answers my questions and doesn't make me feel like my questions or concerns don't matter or that I don't know what I am talking about.

Worst Dr. i’ve ever come across. He over charged me and never answered his phone after. Very unprofessional and seemed like a scam artist. He should have his license revoked. Please do yourself and never step foot in his office.

Seen by Dr Basseri emergently after admission to CSMC. His obvious empathy, knowledge and communication skills were highly appreciated. I would highly recommend him and his practice to anyone needing the services of a gastroenterologist.

Dr. Basseri has been my doctor for a few years now. He is a very knowledgeable, professional, kind doctor and I totally trust him with my health issues. He always listens to my concerns and takes time to help me with my health issues. Dr. Basseri has always been extremely easy to get in touch with. The level of care he has shown me in the past few years has been outstanding. His assistant is extremely friendly and she responds within 24 hours when you leave her a message. I highly recommend Dr. Basseri to anyone looking for a specialist.
