List of Children's Hospital Los Angeles's Reviews
I hated my time at this hospital. I originally went to the ER at saint joseph hospital in Burbank for an appendectomy. However because I'm 16 they were unable to do the surgery there and had to transfer me to CHLA. At saint joseph they already approved me for the surgery and I was supposed to transfer and get it immediately. However for some reason CHLA did everything in their power to stop me from getting the surgery. They kept twisting my words about my pain in order to make it seem like I did not need the appendectomy. They sent me home the next day because my pain was somewhat relieved but it feels like it's starting to come back. Now I'll probably have to go to another hospital to get the surgery, according to my stepmom who's a nurse. I hated the staff there so much, they ignored everything I said and didn't even acknowledge what I was telling them about my abdominal pain.
Let me start my review by generalizing and going back in the history of Children's Hospital. It was Established in 1901 and they take pride, care in their own hands to treat every child with kindness, care and dignity. They take the matter into their own hands and let the sun shine on each child along with their family members/loved ones. Children's Hospital in LA is the first and largest pediatric hospital in Southern California. One of my friend's 10 year old son has been in this hospital for the past week and I wanted to go see him. I went there today and even took few balloons along with teddy bear to cheer him up. He was diagnosed with a serious illness that she doesn't want to disclose. So, I respect my friend's confidentiality and will not be discussing her son's condition. When I got there today, the nurse was checking his temperature along with the other vitals. It wasn't a pretty scene to see this little boy suffering. Then a minute later, they brought him some food for him to eat. He was having trouble eating. His mom and the nurse helped him sit up to have leverage so he can eat. As I was getting ready to leave, the doctor came in and the rest I will find out once..hopefully soon, he will be discharged from this lovely, wonderful hospital. They accept all method of payments.. Everyone in the hospital was very nice, helpful, caring, reliable, and understanding. They have a gift shop, cafeteria, healing room, prayer center,& a HUGE parking lot. Everything was SPOTLESS CLEAN. Thank you all, and I hope he will feel better, have a speedy recovery and may GOD bless and take care of everyone's kids.:-)! Amen!!!!!
Stephanie Dixon, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC. Pediatric Neurology Program I am incredibly grateful for the care my daughter has received from Stephanie Dixon at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. She is one of the most kind, professional, and compassionate doctors we have ever worked with. She always takes her time, listens carefully, and makes sure we fully understand everything. Her level of care and dedication truly stands out, and it gives me so much peace knowing my daughter is in such capable hands. Thank you for providing the highest quality care to Christa Wong we truly appreciate you. Wong Family
We came to CHLA Friday morning & were taken care of by Anthony, Molly, & claudia. (And many others that i didn’t catch their name. ) I cannot tell you how much these nurses helped our time here. Our son needed emergency surgery & i as a first time mother was devastated. All of these nurses really made our few days here better than it could have been. Not once did they leave our room without asking what we else we needed. They all made us feel like family. Thank you so kuch you everyone who helped us. And that you for all the ice we requested lol
Pharmacy technician work hard to have all medication ready for kids , they care for the kids , I can’t talk for nurses and doctors because I just got to see pharmacist do their job and they are ready to save lives !
If you are in ER prepare to stay there at least 4 hours. Horrible staff and service
I gratitude for the outstanding service and care provided by your medical team. In 2020, my daughter underwent eye surgery at this facility, and the level of professionalism and attentiveness she received was truly commendable. Recently, my son was diagnosed promptly with an inflammatory infection through endoscopy, colonoscopy, and MRI. The doctors and nurses acted quickly, initiating treatment immediately. The expertise and compassion displayed by your staff have left a lasting impression on me. I wholeheartedly recommend your facility to any parents seeking fast, effective treatment and care for their children.
They don't care! They open me up then say that the surgery when well then when I went home my back was in pain and my stomach was in so much pain that I had to go back to the emergency room and only to find out that they did the surgery wrong and they to open me up again and this is how my stomach looks now
Back on October 3rd, 2000 I brought my only son to this hospital. In 1997 my son was born at Whitter Presbyterian. The next thing I know is my wife and I are following an ambulance containing my son. He was born with a serious heart condition called Truncus Arteriosis. One of the problems associated with the condition is a valve needs to be added and every 3 to 5 years they would have to replace the valve until he reaches adulthood and they do valve replacements every day, they're routine. Other than that he'll have a very normal life At 3 years and 4 months of age I walked a happy, singing and skipping little boy through the doors of this horrible place. As you've probably surmised by now, he was killed. The problem quickly grew by free because, rather than own their mistakes, they chose to lie to us and say he would be okay...FOR 3 DAYS we stayed there -sleeping on couches until finally we found out. NOT FROM A DOCTOR, NOT FROM A NURSE. We found out by some abrasive woman said, I'm to talk to you about harvesting your son's organs. It took another 5 years and a lawsuit to find out why my son died. They're spineless corner cutters. Go to CHOC, a much better hospital. R.I.P. Terence Adamo, Jr. "Jookie”. .
We were here for 10days for my son, Miss Sam, Nas & everyone in 4west, you guys were all incredible!!! Thank you guys for caring for my little spiderman!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
