Dr. Shamie is a miracle worker! I’ve been a patient of hers and will never see another doctor again. Her staff is also amazing, they are intuitive, caring, organized and well prepared. A very special thank you to Dr. Yousefi who is, the most patient, caring and warm doctor a person could ask for. Thank you so much to the entire staff at the Shamie-Maloney institute. I was fortunate to have gotten a recommendation for Dr. Shamie to treat my progressive Keratoconus. I had been putting off surgery for over a year due to fear of going "under the knife" for this sensitive portion of the body. After my initial consultation I was highly impressed, and knew this was going to be the doctor I would entrust my vision to. I had the cross-linking procedure done in early December and am working my way from 20/75 in one eye, uncorrected, to 20/20 in a fitted scleral lense. The procedure itself was entirely painless, which is good to know for anyone out there that may be delaying their own procedure out of fear of the unknown. Dr. Shamie is a gifted surgeon with a wonderful team of doctors supporting her.

Not only is Dr. Shamie and superb doctor, she's a wonderful human being who is full of compassion, empathy and respect for others. She's passionate about her work, cares deeply about her patients, she's witty, warm and funny. Her warm smile radiates through the room and puts everyone at ease right away. Beautiful inside and out.

Dr. Shamie is kind, gentle and the best at what she does. I wish I'd never had a corneal abrasion (!), but I felt like I was in the best hands under her care. Highly recommended.

Dr. Shamie qualifies as a miracle worker in my eyes - pun intended and praise richly deserved. I've had four cornea grafts over the past 50 years (1968, 1984, 2006 and 2016), the last one by Dr. Shamie. A little over a year later, she performed a cataract/lens replacement. As a result of her extraordinary skill in both procedures, I'm now able to see without glasses for the first time in 50 years. It's changed my life. I also want to mention her wonderful energy and personal warmth that, from the first visit, inspired confidence and let me know that I was in very good hands. She is an extraordinary surgeon-physician and a wonderful human being.
