Multiple staff have sexually assaulted the children here. Do not send your child here, Embark, or any other related businesses. Yes it is 100% true. Do your research.
Embark Behavioral Health presents itself as a beacon of hope for families seeking mental health support for their loved ones, but behind this façade lies a troubling reality that raises serious ethical concerns. As a for-profit company, Embark appears to prioritize convenience and profit over the essential tenets of ethical, individualized care. From the outset, it is evident that the organization is more focused on maximizing revenue than genuinely addressing the unique needs of each client. The cookie-cutter approach to treatment—where standardized programs take precedence over personalized care plans—undermines the very essence of effective mental health support. Instead of tailoring interventions to fit the specific challenges and circumstances of individuals, Embark seems to employ a one-size-fits-all model that sacrifices quality for efficiency. Moreover, the profit-driven motives of Embark foster an environment where the well-being of patients is secondary to financial gain. This is exemplified by the aggressive marketing tactics that often mislead families about the level of care actually provided. Families seeking help are frequently met with promises that are not fulfilled, leaving them feeling disillusioned and abandoned at a vulnerable time. The ethical implications of prioritizing profit over patient care cannot be overstated. When a mental health provider's primary goal is financial success, it creates a system where the needs of the individual are overlooked, leading to inadequate treatment and, ultimately, worse outcomes. This raises the question: how can a company that profits from the suffering of others claim to be a leader in the mental health field? In summary, Embark Behavioral Health fails to uphold the ethical standards expected from a mental health care provider. By prioritizing convenience and profit over genuine, individualized care, it compromises the very foundation of what mental health treatment should stand for—compassion, understanding, and a commitment to the well-being of every client. Families seeking hope and healing deserve better than what Embark has to offer. The clear corporate motto of Embark, or rather its private equity investors: “Profit over people.”
I'm the parent of a teen who was at Embark in the West LA day program (PHP) last year, and it was a very bad experience. My child was the only child in the program most of the time, so was lonely. The staff kept telling us kids were about to join but it didn't happen, in fact, the only other one initially left within days. Despite it being so empty, staff kept avoiding providing us services (like when we joined, we were told the family therapist would be on vacation in 2 weeks so she also wouldn't provide therapy for the week before and after that as she was "busy", therefore leaving us without family therapy for a month as our child was stepping down from residential), and the therapist made my daughter feel invalidated repeatedly (for example, telling my child forgetting CBT homework meant they don't care about getting better). The staff were very disorganized with poor communication amongst themselves and with us, about everything from not getting my child on their required school zooms leading to truant notices, to when to meet us on the street for drop off and pick up. We transferred out of that program ASAP. Hard to believe how poorly it was run--but no wonder it was devoid of patients.
Great place. Highly professional staff that cares about you. I recommend without reservation and they have two locations Los Angeles in Orange County.
Wonderful leadership and I feel comfortable and confident in working for this company!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
