Extremely rude. Zero bedside manner, zero respect. Gaslighting. AVOID at all costs. The doctor’s behavior demonstrated backlighting and ablism in the current medical system. Patients who have chronic illnesses don't have access to attainable care at all. Female patients are often ignored. A massive infection could have been avoided if the doctors take action early on. UCLA’s patient experience the department is unhelpful. They would never truly help the patients. I only speak for my experience. The doctor was over an hour late for a scheduled appointment. When he finally showed up, he didn't check my wound at all, he said, “you can go to the ER if you think the surgery is scheduled too far out. “ Me “The ER can't just perform the surgery right away. My stoma was infected once recently, I understand the schedule is right, but we need to do something to prevent another infection.” Dr.” go to the ER then.” Me” where's the attitude come from? You were late and I didn't even say anything.” Dr. “The attitude came from you right here, from you. You didn't have to wait.” Me.”Excuse me? I had an appointment with you and your NP said you would stop by and take a look at the wound” Dr. “You can file a complaint.” Me “what?” Dr. “Go and file a complaint” And he stormed out and slammed the door.

Dr. Dutson is amazing. I just had surgery with him on October 24th 2022 . He was amazing. He's a very caring man. And made me feel not judged. I know his team will take care of me post op. Their portal is really good network to keep in touch with his staff about any questions. They've worked with me to get labs done more then once at nearby UCLA centers in Ventura county or not far. Since I'm Fillmore and their main office is far. So the fact that they have accommodated that is a big thing. He's also offered me tele health video which really helps so I don't have to drive to la . That is truly important. And if I do have any future post op medical issues ,I know I can call and use the portal. And they will get back to me and put an order in for any test to do at a local nearby off site UCLA center. That's what I love about them the fact of accomodation.

Just sitting and Thinking of Dr. Eric Dodson for his dedication in saving Mt life. Had Bariatric Surgery in Vegas that went horribly wrong, including life support for weeks on end. While laying on life support, there was a hole that heralded OPEN, and no one in Vegas could fix me. All that being said, without going into way more horrific trauma Dr.Erik Dutson took on my case, as well as Dr.Sedarat, Dr. Robertson they ALL played a great role in saving my life. No more feeding tubes, no more open holes in my stomach, and just trying to live life, the best I can. Don’t get me wrong, my life will never be the same, as I struggle each and everyday just to eat but, I am alive. Just felt like sharing and telling the world how much I love 👆🏻All these fabulous Doctors, that had a part in my recovery, it’s been about 3-1/2-4 years now and still never stop thinking of them all. Thank you!

Dr Dutson was my surgeon and he and his team were outstanding. I strongly recommend the UCLA Bariatrics program

Dr. Dutson is very responsive and understanding. I had surgery and have never felt better in my life. Everyone at the UCLA obesity center was kind and caring. If you are considering getting bariatric surgery I highly recommend going to UCLA and consulting with Dr. Dutson. Everyone who works there is efficient and understanding and the follow up is amazing. You will not feel alone going through this process. There are people walking with you each step of the way to make sure you achieve weight loss success>

Amazing Dr who truly cares about his patients and their success

Dr. Dutson is kind and he and his whole team are responsive and caring! They are not judgemental but are truly concerned with their patients health and success. I had support the entire time on this weight loss journey. I would encourage anyone considering bariatric surgery to make an appointment at UCLA with Dr. Dutson. I live a considerable distance in L.A. traffic and the commute was well worth the care I received and continue to receive.
