Jay Gladstein's Online Review Report Card

Something is very wrong that this man has a five star review. He sees way too many patients and he’s always in a rush. His office is difficult to communicate with because when your phone you always get voicemail. When I finally did get to see Dr Gladstein he told me that he has other patients waiting, so he had to go after just a few minutes with me. I felt as if I got the bums rush.

Jay, and his APLA team of nurse practitioners are wonderful. With that said, good luck ever seeing them. Not having capable and sufficient reception staff may be tied to the problem, but it's always a bad sign when you call their office and it's impossible to reach anyone. In 2022 that is simply not acceptable. What prompted me to write this? Nearly 5 weeks ago I went in for my yearly. I wasn't prompted, I had to initiate it myself (FYI). My primary purpose was to get two special referrals. My lovely nurse practitioner did nothing in the way of attempting to manage my expectations (e.g. you referral will be available in x amount of time). A week later I contacted that nurse and was told it would take a few more days. 4 Weeks later, despite my leaving multiple messages, speaking to a receptionist (after FINALLY getting through to someone), guess what? Yep, I still don't have my referrals. I mean, getting a referral shouldn't be a 6-week affair. Unacceptable. AVOID.

Worst experience with any medical practice to date.I saw Dr Gladstein as my primary care physician for years prior to the pandemic and he provided excellent care. In January of this year, I tried to schedule an appointment for a routine physical. It took 6 months of phone calls and emails to get an appointment for today-- Jaime would call me back days later and leave a voicemail.I showed up 5 minutes late for my appointment due to the parking garage line and was told that the doctor could not see me. He was "catching up on other work" during my 40 minute session. No appointments available today, this week, or this month. I spent half an hour talking to the staff and being told the same thing before driving home.I won't be returning to this office. The whole experience was like being on a prank show.

Dr Gladstein always takes the time to explain everything or any question in detail - but in not dumbed down laymen terms. I am also very at ease asking any sexual health or male health questions. Everyone in his office is very professional and friendly

I am extremely satisfied with the care and services provided by Dr. Jay Gladstein and his team. I have been a patient of his practice for over 15 years and it's the first time I have a doctor like Dr. Gladstein who takes time to listen to my questions and to answer them clearly. I really recommend Dr. Gladstein and APLA health Los Angeles.

Very kind, caring and attentive. Very knowledgeable and keeps up to date. One of the best doctors I’ve had. Always goes the extra mile.

Horrible staff, Daniel has no clue as to what world class service is. He is incompetent and a waste of money, I would highly suggest for management to get someone better who actually likes their job and field.. changing my PCP don't waste your time

Dr. Gladstein was my primary care physician for several years, so I'm surprised I've never written a review. I'm now seeing Dr. Ho at the same practice, and I love them both.Everyone on staff is colossal, from the front desk to the nurses/PAs. I'm always able to get in when I need to, and they're very punctual. They both truly listen and respond accordingly. I never feel they're trying to push drugs on me.I highly recommend both Dr. Gladstein and Dr. Ho.

I've been holding back to write this, but it's probably good to inform people. I used to really love this doctor's office, but they've had many changes and have been merging with other companies and/or expanding. Doctors and staff are always changing as well. It's an interesting revolving door. Anyway...not the point of my review. After I was charged a "consultation fee" for simply answering normal/routine questions asked by Dr. Gladstein about my personal life, I decided this isn't about helping people or having conversation to provide good customer service, but finding sneaky ways to benefit financially or otherwise. I'm usually an easy patient. I do my annual blood tests, chit chat, and I want to get out and on with my life. Be careful with how you answer his questions during a "consult" - he will sneak in that consultation fee or even notify your other medical services (like my self-employed disability insurance) about any minor thing and affect your coverage. When I found out what he reported to them, I was extremely disappointed. I had NO idea that talking about my day or work routine as a small business entrepreneur with the doctor could backfire in such a way. I asked a few doctor friends about this "consultation fee," they all disagreed with it. One even called it unethical. My health insurance company also agreed that it was a weird charge, and disputed the charge on my behalf. Through my new doctor, I'm learning disappointing things that have been wrong or off with my recent visits with Dr. Gladstein. Glad it's over, but now I have other issues to deal with based on his communications with other 3rd parties about my health that actually were just situational and not worth noting, in my opinion. Thankfully my new doctor is writing a letter to help me. Just a huge waste of time dealing with a doctor turned megalomaniac.
