compared to the other house in LA, this one was by far better in all aspects! however, it still wasnt the best. some of the staff here still really sucked, there was soooo much downtime and i found about half of the groups to be kind of lackluster and hard to pay attention to :/ my overall experience with individual therapy was positive, but i found some of the approaches/conversations to be questionable at times. i can say that every psychiatry session i had was very productive tho! staff to be weary of: jane, bella, nicole, chris. great staff: kay, rica, valerie! good staff: luke, evan, giselle, cheryl :) i would recommend but do know that you will have to buy all your own food/snacks, etc
There are a wide range of issues here, but the worst is Mary Grace Casillo of the billing. completely wrong and unethical to harass mental health patients and try to trick them. Our out of pocket max was exceeded and she is now calling and shouting at me telling me that the monthly wasn’t met and other nonsense. Unreal. Completely unprofessional to be yelling at patients…14 months after my loved one was there…this was triggered by them asking for records. We also had a friend there in the residential who was kicked out because someone reported innapropriate behaviour in a dorm shared with her and an 18 year old boy. Why would you put girls and a mentally ill 18 year old boy together in an apartment then punish them for having affection? You don’t need any degrees to understand that. In general the people there are kind but completely incompetent, then the billing department is the bad cop literally screaming on the phone. Shameful and gross
I can’t say enough good things about Lightfully Behavioral Health in South Bay. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the care and intention behind everything they do. The clinical team is compassionate, skilled, and truly invested in the healing journey of each individual. They offer a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to mental health treatment that balances structure and support with genuine human connection. One of the standout features is their beautiful housing, peaceful, well-maintained, and just a short walk from the PHP/IOP clinic. The location is ideal, nestled near shops, restaurants, and cafes, making it a great place to heal while slowly reintegrating back into life and the community. What really sets Lightfully apart is the way they treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis. Clients are met with kindness, dignity, and a personalized plan that addresses their unique needs. The facility itself is warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed to create a safe space for healing. If you or a loved one is seeking a high-quality program with heart, integrity, and clinical excellence, Lightfully South Bay is a place I would wholeheartedly recommend. They’re making a real difference in this community.
This is a follow up to my previous review from two weeks ago. I was contacted by the billing department and VP of Lightfully. Apparently I did stay an extra day which I wasn't contracted for. It was an error on Lightfully's part. They addressed it right away. They took care of the balance and promised not to bill me again. I'm very pleased with the result. I can whole heartedly recommend Lightfully.
The 30 day in house program was transforming. It literally saved my life. The reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because TWICE now I have been billed for services I never participated in. Several months ago I received a bill for an extra day’s stay when I have a signed contract clearly stating I was there for 30 days and 30 days only. I just received another bill for participation in their out patient program. Beyond my 30 day stay, I have had no additional treatment. Unfortunately this erroneous billing appearing out of no where, puts a bad taster in my mouth and colors my entire experience. I don’t know if I would ever recommend Lightfully to anyone needing help which is a shame!
I didn’t know where to start—so I just started. That’s how this healing journey began. Not with clarity or confidence, but with exhaustion. Something deep inside me kept whispering: You need help. Start there. So I did. For years, I carried everything on my own. I kept pushing through, surviving the only way I knew how. Until one day, it all became too heavy. I couldn’t keep the mask on anymore. I spent weeks in bed, crying. My family didn’t know what was wrong. Honestly, neither did I. The sadness was relentless. I felt like a burden, like my kids would be better off without me. Thoughts of suicide crept in daily—not because I wanted to leave them, but because I didn’t know how to keep living with the pain. Eventually, I got help. I was prescribed medication and enrolled in Lightfully intensive outpatient program—five days a week, three hours a day. I took a leave from work and poured what little I had left into showing up. It terrified me. I didn’t know what therapy would uncover. For so long, I worked hard to keep the lid tightly closed on all the trauma. I was afraid that opening that box would swallow me whole. But I showed up anyway. At first, I stayed quiet. There was a group session called “core,” where people shared whatever was on their hearts. I listened. I was the new one, unsure if my pain was even valid. I told myself others had it worse. I didn’t feel like I had the right to cry. But that’s not how healing works. Eventually, I started speaking. Slowly, I let pieces of myself be seen. No one judged me. I saw others cry over things they’d never said out loud before. I witnessed growth, courage, and raw honesty. And I began to trust the space. The other hours were spent learning: emotional regulation, values work, even yoga and music therapy. I started filling a journal with notes. I was desperate to make meaning out of the pain. Day by day, I started turning my sadness into something else—anger, curiosity, hope. I didn’t become “fixed.” But I did start becoming someone new. There were moments I doubted everything. I worried I hadn’t gone deep enough. That I wasted my time. That the trauma still living in me hadn’t been touched. But in those final days before discharge, I realized something important: This program wasn’t meant to fix me. It was meant to equip me—to hand me tools I could carry into the real work ahead. I still struggle with perfectionism, neglect, and the deep ache left behind by abuse. I’m barely scratching the surface. But now I have something I didn’t have before: a voice.
My husband was in the PHP/IOP program here. Came home addicted to THC. Therapist sat there while he lied to me, apparently encouraged marijuana use. Was discharged with absolutely no guidance or paperwork. Can home worse off than when he arrived. Had a situation shortly after discharge and I didn't know how to handle it because there wasn't any discharge session and literally not a single piece of paperwork. Tried to call Lightfully for help, then they finally uploaded his paperwork, (which was still not helpful). Needless to say, ended up back in residential a few months after discharging from here.
Great admissions process. Great facilities

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
