MIchel Babajanian's Online Review Report Card

A neck MRI nine years ago (ordered by a pain management doctor before facet joint injections) incidentally revealed a small marble-sized cyst in my lower neck / upper chest near my trachea.  My doctor at the time believed the cyst was benign and stable and did not need further evaluation. However, this summer, I began experiencing issues with my throat, difficulty swallowing, and a raspy voice.  I visited Dr. Babajanian because he provided excellent care to my son, who had suffered a serious choking incident several months earlier.  My son has autism, and Dr. Babajanian was incredibly patient and kind and took his time letting my son know what he was doing throughout the examination.  He treated my son with dignity and respect.  So, when I needed a doctor to evaluate my throat concerns, I went to Dr. Babajanian. He ordered a thyroid ultrasound, and I mentioned a cyst in my lower neck had been seen a few years ago. He said he would have the ultrasound evaluate the current state of the cyst too.  The ultrasound revealed that the cystic mass had grown to the size of a goofball and was now intertwined with the major blood vessels of my neck and chest and was pressing on my trachea.  From diagnosis to surgical excision of the cyst, Dr. Babajanian provided me with a level of care and compassion I wish all doctors gave to their patients.  He gave me a detailed assessment of the medical issue in a straightforward way with calm and reassurance.  He encouraged me to ask questions and welcomed my calls any hour of the day or night.  I never felt like a nuisance.  He didn't brush off my fears and listened with compassion.  He collaborated with a thoracic surgeon so that any complications could be swiftly addressed.  Fortunately, my surgery was complication-free, and Dr. Babajanian was able to remove the cyst via a neck incision. As he suspected, pathology revealed it to be a benign thymic cyst.  I went home the same day from what could have been a two or 3-day hospital stay.  After surgery, I had some minor swelling and redness that improved with each passing day and a nearly imperceptible scar.  Dr. Babajanian is an excellent surgeon, and I am so grateful to him and his staff for taking such good care of me.

I was referred to Dr. Babajanian by my oral surgeon who was convinced I needed surgery to remedy my severe sinus infection (from a tooth extraction). Dr. Babajanian did what no other Doctor could do. He found the right combination of antibiotics that got rid of the infection and saved me from a serious surgery. I am grateful to Dr. Babajanian for his patience, ability to communicate the medical issues, and his willingness not to immediately jump to a surgical solution. I have only heard great things about Dr. Babajanian and I am here to say, they are all true!

What an incredible surgeon and office from start to finish. From the first day I walked in there I felt like I knew Dr. Babajanian and his staff would provide great care. Dr. Babajanian was cordial and warm at all of my appointments, while at the same time precise in his methods and enthusiastic about patient education. I saw him for a total of four times over the course of four months: diagnosis visit, pre-op visit, surgery day and post-op visit. I had previously visited another ENT and scheduled for surgery but cancelled because I felt nervous and unsure about the outcome. With Dr. Babajanian, everything was clearly laid out for me from day one in terms of timeline and what to expect from him as a surgeon and from the surgery itself. After surgery he called each day for the first three days to check in and see how I was doing. Every moment of contact felt like a valuable experience, which was important because I have a busy schedule and traveled from out of town for these visits. I am now nearly three months post op and I am fully recovered, my scar is incredibly clean and made in an inconspicuous place on my neck that it is not readily visible. He has plastics experience and his partner, Dr. Olarte, who assists during surgery, has extensive plastics experience. I feel better than ever and the only remnant of that lump in my throat is a line that will gradually fade into my neck fold. Thank you, Dr. Babajanian and staff!

Dr Babajanian is an excellent doctor. I was experiencing pain in my left ear. I had seen another doctor for several months without receiving any diagnosis or resolution. Dr Babajanian took a culture, diagonosed the problem and prescribed the properly medication to resolve the problem. Dr Babajanian will also start early to accommodate scheduling an urgent appointment if his calendar is already full. He's the best!!!!

His main Interest is to inject botox to his botox patients. He was in the room with me examining my ear and his assistant kept calling him saying that his Botox patient is ready to be seen. I didnot get his undivided attention at all. After him I went to another ENT doctor and was told that I had middle ear infection.

I was told by my primary care physician and a kidney specialist that I would be in good hands with Dr Babajanian. They were right. My surgery was successful and the recovery was painless. Dr Babajanian was readily available and very attentive in following up on my progress post-surgery. Dr Babajanian did a superb job and I highly recommend him.

Karen B. We do not live in Los Angeles and it was during Covid so my first couple of meetings with Dr. B were by phone. Words can't express how I felt after talking with him. He took his time to explain everything about the possible parathyroid surgery and made sure I was aware of what it entailed. Even though I had had previous testing he ordered more in order to be certain.Surgery went extremely well and his report after the procedure was more thorough than I have ever seen from previous surgeries with other doctors. His hospital staff was outstanding as was he. His concern after surgery was reassuring and after a week one could hardly see the incision. I would highly recommend him as an an exceptional physician

’ve had major ear infections and have been to several specialist for the past 5 years. None of them have been able to identify the root problem until I came to doctor Babajanian’s office. His attention to detail and the time he takes to explain everything clearly to the patient is like no other doctor. Not to mention the helpful staff who were so kind and patient to assist us. If you’re looking for an excellent ear doctor, I think you found him!
