Dr Burch has the best bedside manners and he listened to all my concerns. The bariatric team in the office are also amazing and resolve issues quickly.

I was not Dr. Burch patient. My brother had stomach cancer and before he become his patient another surgeon rejected him as it is too late for any operation. He accepted him and using non-invasive surgery operated him. I have many doctors and surgeons in my family that did not expect him to live more than couple of years. So far he is on his six years and going strong. I was with brother in the hospital until he was released. Dr. Burch besides being an outstanding doctor he is an honest and great human being. He saved my brother for me and his family. Anything I say will not define fully his humanity and expertise.

Dr. Burch is a skilled surgeon and an exceptional human being. He is personal, research-based, and informative. My gastric bypass has already improved my health in just a couple of months. No regrets!

Dr. Burch is a true patient advocate and goes extremely above and beyond what any surgeon I have ever met has done. I have been in the Healtcare system almost 30 years and he is truly the best! My husband had a second minor procedure by Dr. Burch on 5/18/20, after he was discharged Dr. Burch called me personally to see if we were still at the hospital he wanted to touch base with me after my husbands procedure, I laughed telling him yes I am trying to find my car in the garage, he had me and my husband meet him by the elevators and he walked the parking garage with us until I found our car. NEVER has any physician I worked with done that. He is a true advocate as well, we had a misunderstanding at the hospital for his surgery work up and he advocated for us not having to be discharged and readmitted!! WE cannot say enough good about him he deserves 10 stars! If you have any GI related issues this is the one to see! We live in Bakersfield, Ca and is worth the drive.

I had stomach cancer at the fourth stage and Dr. Burch gave me surgery. He successfully removed my tumor. He's an amazing doctor and did something I didn't think was possible. I don't know how to thank him enough. I highly recommend him as a surgeon or doctor. He gave me a lot hope for the future. I just want to say thank you Dr. Burch, I wouldn't be where I am today without your help.

I have a difficult diagnosis and have been dealing with chronic complications from my problems. Dr. Burch is very understanding and wants to help me and is going above and beyond to try to figure out the best treatment for me. I'll always be grateful for his interest in my case.

You know when you are so mad that all you want to do is cry? But crying makes you feel weak and powerless? I am having a moment. As strong as I am I would appreciate your input. I am not weak and I am not powerless but I am being threatened by my own doctor. What you should know is that Cedars Sinar saved my life. I love Cedars. Not Dr. Burch! I was supposed to have a stomach procedure last Friday to close a fistula which is a small pouch that acts like a pocket that collects food, This has caused me complications over the last 2 years and is getting worse over time. The simple option would be an endoscopic quick fix which would not require abdominal surgery. I was supposed to have this done at Cedars Sinai with a surgeon, Miguel Burch. A week before the procedure his office called me and gave me instructions, Your appointment is at 3pm. (It was originally scheduled for 8am but I was happy to rearrange my schedule). “Come 2 hours in advance. Have someone prepared to drive you home.” I did all of this as instructed. The surgery required a liquid diet 1 day before the procedure and no food or liquids 12 hours before the procedure and 2 weeks of liquid diet after. I have all of this on voicemail. The day of the procedure he did not show up. As you can imagine, I was livid. ( I was also hangry). The surgical nurse handed me the phone of the scheduler in my doctor's office named Karen, and she said, “ you were not confirmed, why are you there?” I was livid. I asked for Dr. Burch to call me as soon as possible to discuss, thinking he would subdue my fears. Any good doctor would call you and apologize. I did not hear from him, so I filed a complaint with Cedar Sinai “Quality Improvement Department. Dr. Burch is my doctor. The person that is going to cut me open or do whatever, I called and emailed an heard nothing, I thought he would just call me an and check to see if I was okay. Nothing. Four days later I called the office. This is why am writing, He never called me back but when I called his office today he started accusing me of threatening him and wanting witnesses to be present. This is my doctor over a scheduling mishap who refused to now work on me? I guess I am crying because I always thought my health was primary, It is not. Not at Cedars. But the old guard is gone, No one cares about the patients anymore. Its more about billing and insurance. So much for being a Jewish Hospital. I had got a complex situation of achalasia . Dr. Burch made a right diagnose and refereed me to a very professional surgeon, Dr. John Lipham. Thank you so much Dr. Burch for your professional decision.

We were referred to Dr. Burch by a friend who is also a doctor. When she said " If I need surgery I will only go to Dr. Burch" she had us sold for lack of a better word. He is an amazing personable human first of all. Such a professional class act. Oh by the way, he removed my wife's gallbladder which was full of stones. From the first appointment to our post opp visit which was today. My wife could not be happier! God forbid anyone needing surgery, but if you do, he is the guy to see 100%
