List of MIssion Harbor Behavioral Health's Reviews
an hour ago while trying to do intake, the intake person questioned my ability to “commit to the program” after previously spending 40 hours a week at the program for multiple weeks. This place focuses on profits rather than patient wellbeing. Not a safe space, would not recommend to anyone looking to get mental or substance support.
By far the best!
I was a patient here two years ago. I can honestly say that this treatment center and the practitioners saved my life. If you've been having trouble with choosing a treatment option, I recommend and believe in Mission Harbor. You're in good hands.
Such a stand out and special program - I am so grateful for the care they provide and for the amazing team at Mission Harbor.
Life changing experience. Exceptional therapists. Forever grateful! Highly recommend it for anyone seeking help.
Great staff, great atmosphere, outstanding results!
I completed my 2.5 months of PHP/IOP for severe depression here in January 2024. The group therapists are all amazing. They all have their own unique approaches, and this results is a diverse set of groups that are all enlightening and healing. The front desk staff are wonderful as well. I was also impressed with how smoothly they handled my insurance. I miss being at Mission Harbor! I have so many fond memories of being here. I felt so safe here (and that's hard for me due to PTSD). When I feel anxious, it literally calms me down to close my eyes and just imagine sitting by their little fish pond in the back. My treatment goal was to learn how to handle depression better when symptoms arise and not let it spiral into a catastrophe every time, and it was a success. 1.5 months after discharging, I experienced an extreme life stressor that caused some depression symptoms to reemerge, but it hasn't spiraled out of control in the month since it happened. I feel like I have some control over what happens to my mental health now; it doesn't get to control me anymore.
The facility itself is very cute, for lack of a better word. It's unassuming from the outside, but looks almost like an old Spanish-colonial style house in the main house with a kitchen area for patients and a koi pond in the outside sitting area. In terms of care, I really enjoyed being a patient here. This was my first experience as a patient in PHP/IOP. I was a patient for three months, dealing with mental disorder that impaired my functioning in work, school, social life, and self-care. You are assigned an individual therapist to meet with weekly and/or a case manager. You can request to switch individual therapists if you don't feel a good enough rapport between yourself and your assigned therapist. The group therapy schedule is pretty static week to week, but there is almost always a choice between two groups, so you have some ability to "customize" your schedule. I didn't enjoy all facilitators, but I enjoyed most and learned a lot about how to manage and process my emotions/thoughts/behaviors/traumas. The psychiatric team put me on the first medication combination in my life that really worked for my specific set of symptoms. They are courteous and attentive. They remember even non-clinical details about me when we meet weekly. Mission Harbor is also much more affordable (in my opinion) than other centers offering similar care. I paid my insurance's deductible--with which Mission Harbor provided flexibility due to my personal financial hardship--and the team was diligent with handling my disability insurance claim in a timely manner. I would recommend Mission Harbor to anyone looking to seriously challenge their mental disorders and carve a path to a better way of living and thinking! I would even readmit if I felt I needed the care and support again.
My first experience in PHP/IOP after years of mental disorder. Staff—clinical and management—were all very kind and I find my time here very productive towards my improving my health and outlook on life. Staff were also very accommodating to my turbulent schedule, considering I was in multiple interview pipelines at the time I was a patient. I only give four stars because some of the group facilitators are not very effective (only two that I can think of. I enjoyed the rest). Thanks Mission Harbor!
I have worked with many organizations in the behavioral health space and Mission Harbor continues to impress me. Their commitment to serving their clients is apparent in all aspects of their program. They are transparent, honest and I would recommend their program to anyone who is considering treatment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
