List of Namir Katkhouda's Reviews
Greetings everyone. Allow me to say that it has taken me several years to finally bring myself to write this letter after being encouraged to do so by a medical professional. I had the absolute worst experience of my entire life at USC with Dr. Namir Katkhouda doing a failed sleeve surgery. I felt like an object and used after I had the surgery and could not get the necessary after care needed to help me lose weight and keep it off. There was dissension and a lot of tension in his office and the staff seemed afraid of him and one woman told me on the elevator that she was thrilled not to be working with him anymore when I got the surgery and complained about the process after an appointment had been cancelled for the aftercare when I drove from Woodland Hills to get there. He is the most arrogant and self centered doctor I have ever met in my life and he left the room and allowed the students to close me up after the surgery (actually told to me by one of the students) I would have never agreed to this but the hospital refused to let me see the paperwork I was signing and told me I had to sign everything on a device and that they would give me copies AFTER I signed everything. This should be against the law. A patient should be able to read what he or she is signing. I always cross out the part where students are allowed in the room but I could not do that. The students WERE in the room during the surgery and they left air in me and I woke up feeling like I was having a heart attack belching for at least an hour. I could not get one single appointment with the nutritionist without being misled or having the appointment cancelled on two occasions when I got there. When I called the hospital administrator to complain about what happened he suggested I have a revision surgery and try again. I've been called by Katkhouda's marketing staff to help promote him to lure other patients to him and I was disgusted to say the least. The surgery failed and if I could do it again I would have NEVER gone to USC or to him. It's very difficult to see people that I know who have had the surgery at other facilities have success knowing I made a poor choice in believing the USC could do a good job. PLEASE look for other options. Don't make the same mistake I did by going to USC or using Dr. Katkhouda
This is insane I had 3 surgeries With Dr Kathouda Ive been his patient Since 2014 and my Last surgery was in Oct 2019 now my Doctor is gone . Where did he go Keck Medicine Made a bad decision Of covering up his Disappearence this Is making me sick
I was a patient of WLS back in November of 2008. Dr. Katkhouda took great care of me, even helping out since he wasn’t exactly a physician in my network. He saved my life! Initial visit: 350lbs, WLS day: 320lbs. Current weight: 165! God is amazing! Thank you Dr. K!!
I had a very bad experience having to deal with the Stephanie (Dr. Katkhouda’s Patient Coordinator), from the first in counter to obtain my appointment. During the period of waiting for 3 weeks Stephanie made it clear that I would wait regardless how sick or if other doctors call Dr. Katkhouda to talk about my current condition. At one point I had to ask another staff member to assist me and Stephanie made it clear that she knew I had placed that call. She stated I had called the nurse and I told her yes. I’m in very much pain and needed help to get in to see Dr. Katkouda. However, it turned out to be a mistake. All my doctors’ and insurance authorization that had been submitted Stephanie would deny receiving them. I had to request them to resend everything to the fax number that Stephanie would have easier access to. However, when I did go to my appointment I felt that everything I had submitted held no value as Dr. Katkhouda actions spoke very loud. First he kept asking me “what was I doing there” I explained the reason for my visit however, he kept telling me that he could not help me. I explained my 3month experience with my current condition. Dr Katkhouda said he couldn’t help me and was so very harsh with me. Dr. Katkhouda told me to go back to the Dr. that had send me to him. With my 25 year experience working with Emergency and Clinic setting patients I have never experience any doctor had ever acted or treated someone so harshly and uncaring to me regardless of how sick I really am. Dr. Katkhouda did refer me out to the proper Dr. now I’m in waiting again for another appointment to be made. My experience with Dr. Kathoulda and his staff in 2013, when Dr. Katkhouda performed an extensive surgery, could never be compared to the service I receive on October 31, 2019 at 1pm. I’m so very disappointed the lack of cooperation and concern that Stephanie’s and Dr.Katkhouda’s experessed. . I hope and pray that no one else is treated like I was.
When we're born into this world we are in a Doctors hands from that moment on. I have met and received treatment from many Dr’s and for various medical reasons. In my life there has been one that I will never forget and today I’d like to take a moment to express my sincerest appreciation. I was referred to Dr. Namir Katkhouda about two years ago. It was a scary time for me because of what I was going through with my health. All I can say is from the moment we shook hands and I looked at him...I felt safe. He explained in detail how he could help me and what needed to be done to get me better. He took his time reassuring me and making sure I had no doubts or questions regarding the gastric sleeve surgery. I left his office that day feeling so much better knowing I was in his hands. I never felt that I needed to google him or check to see how many stars he was rated. It was something I felt and I was right. Today, Im so much healthier and happier. I’ve lost 100 lbs. Thank you Dr Katkhouda for everything. The calls YOU personally returned after hours and on weekends. Thank you, your team and staff for everything. I want you all to know that nothing was unnoticed. I’m so grateful...words can’t express.
After almost a year of waiting, going through the insurance procedures, tests, multiple seminars and consultations, and nutritionist appointments, I received a call that He is not going to be available to do my surgery and they’re referring me to another surgeon. I waited almost a year and was promised to be seen by him as he’s the head of the program and been through a whole diet to lose weight before the surgery and postponing everything in my life for a year until this surgery was done, I’m being told a simple “OKAY IT’S UP YOU SIR” from two of his staff. I told them that the reason I chose him was because of all of his experience, education and seminar that they’re advertising and promising a healthier life style but now because they’re overly booked and after a whole year of waiting, they’re saying that he is not going to be my surgeon. STAY AWAY from this DOCTOR, his team and his whole program is a SCAM and TOTAL WASTE OF TIME and MONEY.
Did an amazing job on my sleeve and has an amazing attitude & humor.
After having two different surgeries with Dr. Namir Katkhouda, I cannot praise him enough. He is very knowledgeable and direct. His staff went above and beyond to accommodate my insane schedule and to answer my questions and phone calls. Special shout to his PA Tamara and to Jennifer who handles the appointments. I would give them 10 starts if I could.
I’m at furious at the USC Keck hospital program, the surgery department, and especially DR Namir Katkhouda , His staff, his nurse, his entire team. He is a Bariatric Surgeon. I found him through my insurance because I’m prediabetic and morbidly obese and have all sort of health issues such of knee and back problem. My weight due to previous knee surgeries have prevented me from being active and I’ve ...
He did the hernia surgery and I went back to work the next day
