They don't answer the phone. They leave you on hold for 20 minutes, and then they hang up on you. I'm helping out a person, trying to find out when their appointment is. I can't get through on the phone on a Wednesday. I've been trying to call all day. Imagine going through mental illness and dealing with being ghosted like this.

I tried this company back in the fall of 2020 during the pandemic. I had to go in for an assessment in person and the manager was a very stiff, negative, and emotionally dysregulated. So red flag right there. They matched me with a counselor for CBT with no reviews that I could talk on the phone with about every 3 weeks or so, but never met, named Thomas Dunleavy. He initially seemed enthusiastic but quickly became emotionally dysregulated with crisis paced speech during each phone call, made repeat calls from a blocked number, as well as demands that I get a phone company that would accept blocked calls because all of them were sent to voicemail. It became clear he was unstable. Too often those pretending to treat body mind illnesses have not resolved their own psychological issues themselves. They need to actually find good counseling and Care instead of pretending that they are experts when they aren't. I was explaining post-traumatic stress at my workplace where I was chronically being bullied and he literally tried to coerce me into staying into a toxic workplace situation directly nh me "to work the system". This is abuse not counseling. It sounded like he had a full-time county job and was just projecting his values and beliefs on to me, so that as a woman,I should stay in a toxic, violent, dangerous situation because he himself was in a toxic workplace. T his was not trauma-informed care and made things worse. This is extremely bad advice. There was gun violence at my job the next week and I was almost shot. He should not be giving any advice that almost kills people. I called the company and I told them I would not continue with him as a therapist, but the following week he called me. Since his job had not updated him, I had to explain that I would no longer be working with him, was having to get a worker's compensation attorney for injuries on the job. He should have helped me find protection from violence at the jobsite as well as case management and legal aid, but instead demanded that I stay in a situation that was literally trying to kill me. The company never followed up to give me another therapist precisely when I needed one support the most. I found that they were more harmful than good and I had to leave. And found better support groups for free on Meetup. I called recently to asked why they had not followed up with me or why they haven't given the client an evaluation at least on a monthly basis to assess the therapist or counselor and they had no answer. I asked them what his title or credentials were and they didn't know... Be forewarned. Try to take a friend or someone trusted with you so these things won't happen. You may want to take a friend to therapy with you because what is said by clinicians is extremely dangerous.

Been a patient here since 2019 when I did not have many choices to help with my mental health. It’s a mixed bag when it comes to the staff… I’ve had some helpful experiences with some people (they have since left the center), not so great with others. There’s not a lot of flexibility in their system when it comes to contacting specific therapists or doctors and it is nearly impossible to get front desk to answer the phone. Also, they DO NOT offer any tissues during in person therapy and one of the psychologists mocked me for using toilet paper to wipe my tears. If you have other options for therapy and psychiatric help go with that. It’ll probably save you time and heartache. If you don’t have a choice and need to go to NEMH, be ready to stand up for yourself and be your best advocate. Good luck!

I really like the people who worked with me and the meds I was put on helps so much, but they never answer the phone and when you urgently need to reach your doctors they take a long time to get back to you. I've been trying to reach mine for a week and no luck :( please do better and reapond to your patients! Especially when their prescriptions are expired.

Wish I can leave zero stars, it’s been a year since my last session, I’ve attempted to call and every-time, no one answers the phone. Waited 8 mins one day to speak to someone and no one answered!!

Dr Carr is very arrogant and constantly gaslights me, he won’t let me switch medications so I can loose weight. The quality of service in this place is very low and no one working here gives me information I requested to switch psychiatrists some where closer to my home. I don’t recommend dr Carr he’s very proud and arrogant DO BETTER!

To be a mental hospital knowing they have patients with mental illnesses, they never ever pick up the phone. No matter how many times you call, they will take their sweet time to call back or answer. I was calling to reschedule an appointment but at this rate, I rather keep insane and not lose my little bit left of my mind on wasting my time at this place so once they call back…or they answer I will cancel all further services at this location. Not worth it! Maybe their doctors are great but not the staff.
