Dr. Patel is knowledgeable and provides good care. I did wait an hour and 15 minutes to see him. Unsure if that's normal protocol. The reason for the 2 stars is due to Dr Patel's support staff, one particular receptionist. This receptionist wants to feel in power, control, as if she were the owner of the business. She does not listen to the questions, talked over me while I was asking a question. The first time I hung up because I couldn't handle the stress in my health condition. 2 months later, after my visit, I called to ask about the new rx. After not being understood, like how can I call in a refill on a rx that isn't in the system, she kept saying I need to call the central refill number and ask to have it filled. Then she said, "I don't have to come there, I can find a different Dr." She stated, " I don't work for you, I work for the Dr" ( yes you do work for me, and the Dr works for me) So 3 weeks later no new rx.

Dr. Patel is caring and competent, but his office staff is INEPT. In 2 yrs, they've messed up every aspect of a medical office’s normal work at some point: not knowing how to handle a consult visit; not recording a scheduled appointment; incorrectly relaying a message from the doctor; losing track of a lab test (not noticing that the results hadn’t come back); losing messages from patient to physician; referring a patient’s query about insurance to the wrong staff person; not billing insurance.
