Sun H. Lee's Online Review Report Card

I'm reading some of these reviews in absolute shock and horror - these reviews certainly do not reflect the incredible surgeon who is the reason I am walking...and not in a wheelchair. Dr Lee and his surgical team are top notch in all aspects of addressing spinal issues. Spinal surgery is a terrifying prognosis and I greatly appreciated Dr Lee's bluntness and honest appraisal of my pre-surgical condition and what to expect post surgery. My spinal cord had bends and twists from disc damage in my neck due to years of moving heavy objects. The damage extended to my legs and arms and I was at risk of possibly being a paraplegic/quadriplegic. He explained clearly what was happening, how it happened, and how to correct it. He also explained in surgery like mine that the damaged spinal cord may or may not correct itself when the disc were repaired...but that with his approach...his success rate was much higher than his no improvement cases. I genuinely respected the man for his candor, honesty, sense of humor, and genuine kindness...that when combined with his education - teaching resume and association as a board member of Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital - which has been incredibly reborn and updated - made the decision to go with him easy. I made the right choice. 3 discs repaired in 3 hours, through a inch long cut on the front of my neck - Amazing. I was walking in a day without the numbness, tingling, and weakness that had been plaguing me. I healed quickly and had zero post surgery issues. To this day, I feel incredibly blessed to have had Dr Lee, his surgical team, and the incredible staff and facility at Hollywood Presbyterian come into my life. Mind you...this was mid-Covid and finding a surgeon was not easy. If you need spinal surgery...I strongly recommend you contact Dr Lee. Dan Jordan Los Angeles

I would like to thank Dr. Lee for being such caring doctor. You know from the minute you meet him that he cares about you as an individual and he takes the time to explain exactly what your options are. I would like to say that he wants you to understand everything about any procedure that he may deem necessary and let you make an informed choice. Dr lee performed a spinal surgery on 5/01/203 and every thing that he explained before the surgery was exactly the way it went, He completely corrected my spinal issue and I am now pain free. it's been a little over 90 days and my follow up visits were right on track. Dr Lee is the most compassionate dr. I have ever met and I would highly recommend him to anyone with the need for a Leader in his field Greg G.

My name is Jonathan Lim. I would like to share my experience. First of all, Dr. Sun H. Lee who is a neurosurgeon in Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for his perfect and nice surgery on my cervical myelopathy disease last year, 28th of September, 2022. This operation was a very critical and sensitive surgery. Dr. Sun H. Lee is very skillful and well experienced plus he is very kind and gave me courage a lot. I wish to all the patients with spinal problems, I strongly recommend Dr. Sun H. Lee. You will have no regrets. Also, many thanks to all the staff at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital. You guys saves my life again.

Horrible doctor, I definitely recommend to stay away from this man. I have been in the worst pain of my life the last couple of weeks. This man told me he does not feel like he can help me. He talked over me and did not hear me out. He cut me off while I was talking and trying to explain to him how much pain I'm in. He told me that he doesn't think I'm in enough pain to have surgery and to try other things but did not give me any Information on what to try. He didn't even go over the MRI with me. All he kept saying was your to big you neeed to lose weight. Then he said it's a very high chance that if he doed the surgery that I will get the bulging disc again by walking. I told him doc it's called rest and proper care after surgery and he just disregarded that and had the nerve to say he's a neurosurgeon and he loves to do surgery and he doesn't do it for the money. He stated he's not like this other young doctors who's do things for the money. Again this man is horrible. I read reviews about him before being sent here and I completely agree with others reviews. This man is horrible. I will definitely be taking the next step in having someone else look into this doctor.

Dr. Sun H Lee is the best. He operated on my back and put me as sooo much ease from the initial consult. As someone who works in medicine, I had complete confidence in his objective opinions. His staff is super kind and every visit was so efficient. They accommodated my personal work schedule to make my surgery at the best time and Julie up front handled all insurance matters. The actual surgery went super smooth and the hospital staff was so kind. (My sis who also works in healthcare was shocked too at how caring the entire OR staff was). I felt really confident in Dr. Lee going into surgery and every appointment after confirmed that. I became completely symptom free post op and I cannot be more thankful for that.

Absolutely horrendous. My grandma went to him years ago for a surgery for her neck and wrist. She went back to him a few days ago and he yelled at her and told her to go find another doctor to do her surgery this time around because she couldn't remember doing her wrist surgery with him. First of all, she's aged and it makes complete sense for her to forget some things. I'm so sorry if your ego was so bruised that you needed to verbally attack an elderly for memory loss. Secondly, rather than giving her more options for finding new doctors, he brushed off her questions and told her to go to a bigger hospital and get help there. I spoke with other people who have gone to Dr. Lee after this incident and they have all said that he treats elderly patients with absolute disrespect. Learn some empathy before going in to speak with patients. Disgusting behavior.

They are pretty useless as providers. Dr Lee gave me very little info and then shuttled me out. Their office also only accepts checks and money orders for payment so it's a huge hassle to try and pay them. Avoid at all costs

One of the worst, most useless physician consults I have had in my life. Dr. Lee is very difficult to communicate with, he doesn’t slow down to listen and offered no ideas on what could be causing my back pain and leg numbness. He just kept repeating that he was a surgeon and that my spine did not require surgery. That’s literally all.
