West Los Angeles Urgent Care's Online Review Report Card

We have gone to this facility multiple times for covid tests.  They are always quick and professional.  In particular, Paul is awesome and super helpful!  I would strongly recommend them.

The center itself was fine....small (very compact spots) parking lot, lots of metered street parking.  It seemed to be clean enough, and the girls at the front desk were simply delightful.  I walked in on a weekday morning and was seated in a room within a few minutes.  Fantastic!   Definitely has a very low budget feel to it, but it's an Urgent Care in West LA, and you aren't going for the ambiance.  And those are the reasons I am giving 2 stars instead of 1.My issues occurred when the doctor, Franz Gliederer, came in.   His completely disheveled appearance isn't what I'm used to seeing in medical professionals, but I let that go because...well, wrinkled ill-fitting clothes don't affect a persons abilities, right? However.... He walked in the room and washed/dried his hands without acknowledging that he even knew I was in the room.  Without introducing himself or even letting me know he was the doctor, he says "show me the foot" in a very abrupt manner.  It was downhill from there.  He was clearly annoyed at SOMETHING, and made no attempt at civility.  Instead of educating me on the situation (infected ingrown toenail), he loudly and quite rudely lectured me about not caring for it properly.  Every question I tried to ask about caring for it or managing pain, he would talk over me and tell me to just take the antibiotics and then go to a podiatrist.  When I picked up my prescription at my normal pharmacy, the pharmacists were kind enough to give me the information needed for proper care of my toe...and they were, rightfully, stunned that this doctor neglected to do so.  When he needed to retrieve something from behind my chair he literally pushed his way past me, rubbing his behind on me, without so much as saying "excuse me".  Whether he was just having a bad day or he is truly just a miserable human, his manner of handling his patient were despicable and I couldn't get out of there fast enough.  I've read positive reviews for other doctors here, so if I ever need Urgent Care again I will come back, but under no circumstances will I accept "care" from this particular doctor again.

Received a prescription from a doctor. Pharmacy says they cannot read it. I have now called three times, and been left on hold one of those times for over 30 minutes by the Urgent Care front desk! They said they will not call the pharmacy to help me get my prescription filled- even though the mistake is on the urgent care side. This is embarrassing customer service at best...I will never return here, even though it is my local med option.

I went in for pre-op clearance for a surgery. There was no wait time and I was in and out within 30 minutes. Everyone I interacted with was really nice. I told the nurse that I was nervous in medical situations and he was really calm and accommodating. As someone that struggles with anxiety, I really appreciated that. Even though I had some issues getting my records later, the office manager was more than willing to work with me to remedy the situation. Overall one of the better experiences I've had with an urgent care and I would definitely go back.

Was a strange experience. Checked with my insurance that I was 100% covered for covid check. Went in, was told I would need to pay $120 as I hadn't reached my deductible yet. So, called my insurance back, they again said I was 100% covered, no deductible. Blue Cross Blue Shield called West LA Urgent Care and told them I was in fact 100% covered. West LA Urgent Care said that I would have to pay even though I was 100% covered... 'it's their policy'. BCBS told me that it was highly irregular and put a complaint in. BCBS told me after, they wanted to charge me, then I can apply to be reimbursed... If this is true, then it wasn't communicated by the staff at all, I was told I just had to pay. The staff were nice to me but the insurance agent mentioned that they were rude to her on the phone. I don't know if this is just the mess, that is the US health system, rather than anything more sinister, but I really felt like West LA Urgent Care, at best did not fulfill their responsibilities to my insurance, and at worst tried to turn a quick buck.

I've been here twice and both times were excellent experiences. Friendly staff, clean facilities and good doctors. I went on weekend mornings and wait time was not long at all. It has become my go-to place for basic problems when I can't get in to see my regular doctor.

I have been going to this facility for years, and I must say...the staff and Doctors are amazing! They all do the best job of making you feel like you're not only being taken care of, but like they actually care. Even during the crazy Covid times, they always are so incredibly kind, patient & helpful. Dr. G is a top-notch professional, asking all of the right questions to make sure that you leave feeling healthier & wiser than when you came. I wish I could name everyone else on the staff as well, because everyone deserves a shout out! Thank you for everything, Team!

My review is based on performance by office of Occupational Therapy. The occupational therapist (Jeff) is the best of the best and his right hand (Mary) is personable, accommodating and just awesome support. I highly recommend this office for your occupational therapy needs.

Very friendly staff and caring physicians. My walk in appointment was fast and efficient. A reliable urgent care!

Had a great experience here today.  No wait time.  Staff is extremely courteous and professional.  The wait area and examination rooms were clean and tidy.    Doctor was practical and I was in and out in no time.  Would definitely recommend.
