List of Adel Abi-Hanna's Reviews
If I could give 0 stars I would. We were extremely disappointed and I am almost sure the doctor does not know what happened. We were told we could come and see the doctor without our son to present our case and see if the doctor can be of help. Once we get there after waiting 15 minutes we were called in and told our son needs to be present. We explained our unique situation and how we were told that it was ok to come without the child but the same excuse was repeated over and over again....needless to say after half an hour of wasting time we left without seeing the doctor. This is very shocking and very insensitive to say the least. The staff is really bad and not trained to be able to handle such situations in a professional manner. I can't get over this horrible experience and this is not the standard stanford adheres to at all...
Very bad experience with the staff
Dr Abi-Hanna is an excellent doctor. He understands Celiac disease very well and keeps up to date with research. He takes his time when he sees my son and will communicate which testing needs to be done and make sure that all my questions and concerns are answered. He really cares about the children. Yes, he is not a doctor who shows much emotion but how he takes time to explain and treat his patient shows that he wants to do everything he can to help the child. We had the situation with our other son who had a negative biopsy but positive blood test and all the symptoms of celiac, were Dr Abi-Hanna went the extra mile and talked to the lab a few times and convenienced them to retest the sample. I can highly recommend him
Absolutely terrible!!! I wish I could give him a 0-star rating!I was referred to Dr.AbiHanna by my pediatrician and he ordered a couple of lab tests for my kid. After the first test, I waited a couple of days to hear from the doc, but there was no call. When I called the office, they confirmed that they had received the test results but refused to tell me the results and said the doc would call me back later the same day to discuss the results. 4 days and 3 reminder calls later, the doc finally called me back and didn't sound the least bit interested in explaining the results. I assumed this was a one-off slip and let it go.We had a follow up test for my kid a few weeks later and that didn't go any better. I called the Dr's office and they confirmed that they had received the results from the lab. They said the Dr would call back later the same day to talk about the results and of course he didn't. I'm still waiting to hear back and I wonder how many reminders it will take this time :(
Dr. AbiHanna has seen both of my sons for Gastro issues. He is amazing, kind, thorough, talks to the kids in an adult manner and to all of us matter of factory yet truthfully. He's very sympathetic and a great listener. Highly recommend this Dr.!!His office staff is full of very helpful, polite and efficient people who are very eager to assist. After getting bad news, I feel like my son is in very good hands.
We brought our baby to see Dr. Abi-Hanna and left completely confused. Throughout the appointment he tried to crack jokes which were completely distracting. I felt like he was projecting feelings on me that didn't exist, such as "it is my fault" the baby has an issue (I exclusively breastfeed) and "I feel guilty" - which I did not feel but it was a continued theme throughout the visit. I didn't feel like we were heard, but I did feel like I was being treated like an emotional, irrational mother, which is not true. I have been trying to approach the situation with logic and gathering medical opinions, but other Drs recommendations were completely discounted. Further, he gave us a lab sheet, but by the end of the appointment told us not to use it, he gave us formula, but also said the baby wouldn't take it because he was too old and it tasted terrible. After being there for over an hour, which was the one thing I did appreciate, the chaos wasn't rushed... we left completely confused with no clear direction or next steps. However, he did tell us to challenge an allergy, but luckily I checked with the allergy doctor who strongly advised against it. I was hoping to leave with peace of mind as to where we were and how to handle my son's symptoms, but unfortunately I left more confused and frustrated and doubting everything.
My daughter was diagnosed with "Failure to Thrive" and was spiraling below the 5% of growth and weight. At 10 months old, she would barely eat and instead of having ringlets of fat and chubby cheeks, she was thin. We knew it was time to see a specialist. Dr. Adel Abihana was very informative, caring, and spent the time to answer our questions. He had us work with an occupational feeding therapist and monitored my daughter weekly. His office was easy to work with. We really appreciate all the support and caring that helped us through this difficult time.
Dr. Abi-Hanna is a great doctor. He was very good with my kid in all appointments we had. He talked to my kid nicely and got all the answers he needed while she was smiling or laughing. His recommendations worked well and solved our issues. I referred friends to him on several occasions. I highly recommend the Dr.
He's a terrible doctor, esp. if your case is difficult to diagnosis.
Great doctor. Easy to talk to, took his time and I never felt like he was in a hurry to leave. Explained everything in great detail and made us feel comfortable. Would go back if needed in the future and recommend as a great doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
