If I could put zero stars I would especially if we the patient have no idea how secure our medical records information is I called to get the name of my medication I was on as my new dermatologist dr is requesting it simple right?! it was a few years ago and the front desk said they no longer have my chart and it is "in storage" wait WHAT!? Storage WHERE!? the front desk had no clue put me on hold twice came back was like yeah it's in storage we no longer have your chart like WHAT?! It will take 30 days and it will be $50 dollars WTH is the storage in Europe like I just need the name of the medication! completely shocked at this establishment and how they run like this was the 70's they really need to get up to date with technology
Staff is lovely and very helpful. Dr was equally helpful in explaining everything. I will be going back.
If you are a woman, do not see this man because he does not care about you or your concerns or your body and you are worth being seen and heard and listened to! I really don't like leaving negative reviews but I would feel even worse if I didn't warn others of my experience with Dr. Hsieh (pronounced Shay) My concerns were not heard and he constantly talked over me while making it very clear that his "friendship" with the doctors in the community was more important than helping me - I literally left the practice in tears feeling so belittled. Here's the background: I suffer from hormonal facial acne and have been on Spironolactone for 4 years now. One of the big no-nos of being on this medication is that I cannot get pregnant while being on it and I personally do not want to be on hormonal birth control - I have tried two IUDs as well as multiple types of pills and they all mess with my mental well being. I use natural cycle with my oura ring which is an FDA approved form of birth control as well as use condoms with my husband and we have both discussed not wanting anymore kids in the future. I have known about how detrimental it would be if I got pregnant and take it VERY seriously. When I was living in Denver, my doctors worked WITH me and heard my wants and needs and gave me the prescriptions with the agreement of coming in for monthly pregnancy tests. Now that I am in California, I had to find a new Primary Care Doctor who would not feel comfortable with prescribing me the medication unless I took a pregnancy test and made a dermatologist appointment to explore other options of treatment. This was my experience: Dr. Hsieh came in and went straight to telling me there was nothing he can do to "over rule" my PCP and that he was friends with the doctors in the community and relies on their referrals. I tried multiple times to explain to him (while he kept talking over me) that I understood where their concerns were coming from and that I wasn't there for him to "over rule" anyone and if there were other options. His reply: why change something that's clearly working...OR I can always go on birth control or tie my tubes...I'm 31... So he clearly didn't listen or try to understand where I was coming from. And not once did he actually look at my skin and discuss my history (I even brought photos that he didn't look at) to even try and discuss other options. I honestly felt like he just wanted to get me out of there and didn't care to look at or hear my concerns about my skin. I truly believe your skin is just one part of your body as a whole and everything should be considered and worked together. So again, if you are a woman, do not see this man because he does not care about you or your concerns or your body and you are worth being seen and heard and listened to!
I took my 17 year old son in for a follow up since I had some questions about a mole and some fungus in addition to the main issue (acne); he had gone in alone before. It's been a long time since I've encountered such a rude doctor. He didn't acknowledge me in any way, he talked over me when I began talking, he didn't allow any questions, I had to interrupt him to ask what I need to ask. He made assumptions about my son's issues, many of which were not accurate. He was dismissive, condescending, rude, and impatient. Front desk staff is great, so are the nurses, the doctor is simply awful. Go elsewhere.
I cannot recommend this practice either. Performed Moh's surgery on one growth identified as cancerous. I am prone to growths and another appeared about a year later. They came back with the same diagnosis and recommended Moh's surgery again. I became suspicious and requested the biopsy be sent to another lab for analysis, where the conclusion was that it was not malignant. I cancelled the surgery and changed dermatologists. Never trust a doctor that uses their own, in house lab.
I would not recommend this dermatology clinic. We were referred to this clinic by his insurance company for the person I care for his problematic psoriasis was starting to get open sores on his back due to his multiple illnesses is sedentary. I made an appointment, which took it several weeks to wait to be seen. The person I care for who had an appointment with this clinic had to have emergency surgery. So several days later while he was slowly recuperating in the hospital during the confirmed office appointment that we had been waiting for was still hospitalized. I called the office to request a televideo session due to his inability to physically go to their office since he was still hospitalized they refused to make an exception to do a video telemedicine appointment since he was a new patient. So it's been over 1-month waiting for his appointment for the lack of compassionate Advanced Dermatology Clinic. Now on we're in month 2, I must locate and make an appointment with another dermatologist as I refuse to wait again to see this dermatologist due to their lack of professionalism, obstinate office policies and their serious lack of compassion of patient care.
Dr. Hseih has helped my cronic sun induced skin cancer to become less serious & quite manageable ! Thank you doctor !
I went to Dr Shieh for quite some time. I since joined Kaiser so not able to see him. He was always friendly and gave clear advice . I accompany my 96 yrs old friend on his visits. The dr has been excellent in treating him and explaining his reasoning.
Did not want to give me an appointment, because they said that I did not need it.
If you want medical advice, this office gives it, but it will cost you. I would not recommend, unfortunately. If you have anything but a known medical condition, go elsewhere for the care and feeding of your dermatology needs.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
