Bahar Aghighi's Online Review Report Card

She almost killed me. Couple years passed since it happened. I guess I should share my story. She decided to move me from Armour to Synthroid. Fine! I could get the reasons why one could try that. I was off Armour and on Synthroid cold turkey. One day. Which is wrong, as I learnt later. Next day I started crying, having fogged mind, being puffy and depressed. I felt BAD. After couple weeks of hell, I told her it's unbearable. She increased my doze. I still felt terrible. I cried every second day. I felt desperate. Crying I called her office. She called back suggesting it is not an endocrinology problem and I should see psychiatrist instead. So my problems started 2nd day after she changed my meds, but it was not her problem! She would not see any correlation! Should I say my 'depression' ended right after I switched back to T3 containing medicine? Real depression does not end like that. Thyroid induced one does!And after some time she would not even remember (should she have records? ) that she was the one to put me through 1.5 month hell. PS. I do know she appears knowledgeable at first. But she knows very little and will try to get rid of you should the problems occur. PPS. if you switch people off armour, why not switch them to synthetic version of t4 PLUS t3 instead of sending them to psychiatrist?

Dr Aghighi was a breath of fresh air for my mom who the last month and a half was in and out of the hospital and seeing way too many doctors that were overworked and too busy to take the time to talk to their patients. Dr Aghighi was very attentive to my moms questions and we actually heard her actual diagnosis which none of the doctors at Stanford even told us! I wish there are more doctors of Dr Aghighis' caliber still practicing. We did not feel pressured to try to have all of our questions asked in 5minutes, which with other doctors you feel like they have one foot out the door before they even come in. Dr Aghighi gave us her full attention and I really appreciate the time she took out of her busy schedule to fully address all of my moms concerns.My mom asked dr Aghighi if she could be her primary doctor- too bad the answer was no!

I am a physician and wouldn't normally opine on a colleague, but she merits praise.I felt very defeated when my abnormal glucose tolerance sank into needing more aggressive therapy. Aside from getting me dialed into range in a short period of time, her nature and knowledge really encouraged me and helped me feel in power.

Doctor Aghighi is friendly and knowledgeable. She listens to me and answers my questions. I do not feel rushed. She is available on My Health if you have any questions for her between appointments. She responds very quickly and answers my questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. I feel confident that I am getting the best care.

Diagnosed with Thyroid issue. Dr. Aghighi left me with such a low dose of synthroid for such a long time that I ended up gaining 60 pounds under her care, or lack of care I should say. Too little too late! If you're looking to become obese and have little care from an indifferent doctor, then Aghighi's your Doctor.

Dr. Aghighi was instrumental in having me correctly diagnosed, after being misdiagnosed, then getting me treatment and follow-up with compassion and thoroughness. Dr. Aghighi is an advocate for my health and challenged me to make lifestyle choices which have supported other areas of my health not directly related to her initial diagnosis. She is a gem of a doctor.

I am so glad to have Dr. Aghighi as my thyroid doctor. I have Hashimoto's and a nodule on my thyroid. I would highly recommend her as she truly cares about each of her patients, takes time to listen to your concerns and follows up after the visit.

Dr Aghighi was very kind & listened patiently to all my concerns. Test were scheduled & she reviewed the results with me. Too bad only the complainers have left reviews for her because she is a great doctor!

Dr Aghighi was one of the worst Doctors I have experienced in a long time. She was not sympathetic or understanding to my sickness. I left feelin' worse about myself and my sickness then I did before I saw her. I'm a tough person and I don't cry ever, but she made me feel so bad like it was my fault for my sickness, I started to cry and she was not sympathetic at all. There is not a sensitive side to her at all. I have not one good thing I can say that I liked about her and will not be seeing her again. If you want to lower your self esteem, then by all means, go to her. She's great for kicking down, when your already there. And nothing has changed since I saw her. I feel exactly the same as I did before.

She is great! Answers any questions I have and always calls me back. With her help I've lost 25 lbs in the lat 4 months and counting.
