List of El Camino Health - Los Gatos Hospital Emergency Room's Reviews
Just don’t even bother coming here. They hire anyone & it shows. I’m sure the other people working here are nice but the few they hire who aren’t nice, ruin it. Just drive further out & you’ll get better care. No this isn’t a review based on a video, this is based on my experience. I’m sure there’s more people who have been mistreated & haven’t reviewed the place so I’d say the reviews from people watching the video are justified & balance it out.
I won’t ever come back her again. My son was having severe asthma attack. We weren’t vaccinated & when we showed up the first time they were trying to see if they could have my 17yr old go in alone, having my 4yr old & I wait, he wouldn’t know what to do so we all went in.The doctor ended up prescribing him a small dose of prednisone, there was no difference once he finished. So I called back asking if it was possible to call in a higher dose without seeing him again since he was exposed to covid since we had left there. . the person on the phone with me “Fred” who just seemed miserable with his life, kept repeating the same thing no matter what I asked, as I was stupid. “this is the emergency room, we’re open 24 hours, you’re more than welcome to come in.” In the most condescending way. I explained to him that my son could have covid & he’s like “we can handle it, we’re an emergency room” I thought you were supposed to avoid the ER if it’s possible you have covid? Either way, they need someone other than “Miserable Fred” answering the phones at night if they want to hide the fact that they don’t care here. . unprofessional people. Why would you say to wait outside if not vaccinated the first visit, but then say come on in with covid?!
Wonderful experience very clean hospital very attentive doctors and nurses was not crowded at all and it was about 4:35 on a Friday afternoon when I went in so it wasn't crowded at all loved it once again thank all the doctors and nurses that were working on that Friday when I came in
Nursing staff and Doctor took excellent care of me, and truly put my mind at ease. Thanks for the great experience.
We came in at 630a today. No wait and all Covid protocols in place. My partner was in extreme pain. Nurses were great and the Dr. got to the issue quickly with all the needed tests. Diagnosed with good follow up recommendations. Definitely would recommend coming here.
I came after a car accident. The care I got in ER was magnificent. I had help both from the night and day shift on early morning of March 1 2020. I should have taken all the names of the nurses and ER staff who attended me and thank each of them within this review. I have received not only medical help but also warmth and advice. Doctor Amburgey was my doctor and he was excellent, compassionate, understanding and very helpful. I was reading previous reviews and I saw how negative they were. The problem is - in order to write a review - one has to have a shot of additional energy - which is in most cases provided by anger. Satisfied people do not write - they expect the best and when they get it- they are silent. Within scope of my experience which includes also Europe- this is one of the best hospitals I have been to and the best ER I was a patient of. mjhc
After taking my Mother to this Er twice within the last six months. I can say that the care here can be very good. The staff overall are very caring and professional. I do know that the Medical Director of the ER that took care of my Mother was particularly, rude and condescending. I am a doctor and I would never raise my voice at a patient's family especially to a colleague. Perhaps it was because We are asian. It is unbelievable that this would happen. This doctor should go back to residency and persue a training in a field that does not involve direct patient care. I do not recall the director's name but when I do I will post her name. Absolutely , unexcusable for this Lady(MD) to behave the way she did!
Night staff are show no empathy ,especially Dr. Kwan. Very disappointed how they treated my 15yr old daughter! Now I understand why they call it practice medicine. Thanks for wasting 4 hours of time for a simple virus
First of all I'd like to say that the negative reviews I just read were mostly unfair and biases. I am not saying that the situation regarding the nurse's unprofessional treatment to a patient that was on that video was right by any means. However, I do believe that the hospital handled that problem very quickly and professionally. The nurse was never an employee of the hospital directly but one of a contracted group that is appointed to a hospital or facility in need of their services. The nurse was no longer employable at El Camino Los Gatos. I believe that the hospitals management team was sincerely sorry about what happened and did what had to be done to make all parties affected feel satisfied with the outcome. That being said I definitely owe it to El Camino Los Gatos Hospital a long over due POSITIVE review after all the pleasant experiences I have had here. My family and I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. Long before it was El Camino Hospital at Los Gatos it was Los Gatos Community Hospital. My aunt delivered all four of her children here which I was lucky enough to be invited to witness and be a part of the whole baby delivery experience. The staff was always of the most help and compassion you'd expect from nurses, doctors, nurse practitioners etc... They always go above and beyond for their patients. I personally have been seen in the ER on a few occasions for migraines to stomach pains leading to an emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder. Unfortunately, I was unable to have my surgery there that evening due to medications I had taken the few days prior to the visit that would have not been safe to have in my system with the anesthesia. They asked me for permission to transfer me to another local hospital (Valley Medical) to stay until the surgery could've been performed safely in a few days, which I agreed to. They also allowed my mother (who did not leave my side from the first pain I had until the recovery process was complete) to ride with me in the ambulance. The services they provided were always nothing short of amazing and that was never compromised even when they were very busy and had many patients ay the same time. They have even paid cab fair or booked an Uber ride to get me or my family members home when it was difficult to find a ride home like in the middle of the night. If you are reading these reviews to choose a hospital to go to, please don't let those (far too many) negative reviews affect your decision. Try them out. You won't be disappointed and definitely won't regret it.
My dad came in to the ER early this morning due to an issue with his catheter (an expected possibility). Nurse Trey, Dr. Blinkley and the registration staff were very kind and professional. They took cared of the clots and even hooked me up with some products to get by for the day so I'd have some time to go to the store to stock up. We live on the East Side so this hospital is not the closest but it was definitely worth the drive. We'll see what the billing department is like in the near future but whatever happens, it does not take away from the professionalism of the nurses and doctors here.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
