Thank you Dr. Coe for being my surgeon. What a journey it's been and I'm glad you were at my side. My chiropractor recommended you after I'd been suffering from chronic sciatic pain, shooting electric debilitating pain for three months. When we met to discuss my Xray, you identified multiple irregularities and zeroed in on the real problem educating me on my condition and options. Since the appropriate surgery was a complicated procedure Xlif or Alif, you cautiously guided me to consider therapies first to see if we could alleviate the problem without surgery. The diagnosis was Spondylolisthesis, caused by degeneration. OrthoNorCal provided a complete suite of options, drug therapies, PT, epidurals, follow up appointments. After months of getting some relief but unable to return to the physical activities I loved, I called Dr. Coe and asked for another surgery consultation. He spent as much time as I needed discussing exactly what the surgery would entail and the outcome I could expect. As always he was most concerned that I was making the right decision for me, giving me the medical information in terms I could understand so that I made the decision. Once I decided, his pre-surgery protocol was thorough making sure I understood every decision I was making. I was terrified of back surgery. My surgery was a big success. Dr. Coe gave me a reassuring nod when our eyes met in the operating room before I was put under. He met my husband in the waiting room with his report and then visited my bedside as soon as I recovered from the anesthesia to show me the operating room photos of my spine. Check-out day, he personally came to my bedside to process the release and sat with me and my family taking his time with us answering all our questions. After surgery OrthoNorCal has a specific protocol to ensure 100% recovery. Their PT, both aquatic and standard resources are excellent. Dr. Coe carefully weaned me off of the pain medications as quickly as I could do so. I have no back pain and now I'm getting my old active life back thanks to Dr. Coe. Dr. Coe is one of those special surgeons who've seen just about every condition, keeps his medical know-how current, and prides himself on his surgical skills, he's a real technician and aims for perfection.
Thanks to Dr Coe I am pain free, after 3 bad years of chronic leg pain Dr. Coe was able to fix my back and return me to a normal life. My previous doctors had me headed in the wrong direction with pills, etc.I’m so grateful to him and his staff at Golden Gate Orthopedic & Spine for everything they’ve done to help me. If I could give him 10 stars I certainly would. If you’re having leg or back pain and are looking for a doctor I highly recommend you contact his office. From X-rays to MRI’s to the front desk staff everyone there was polite professional and caring.
Dr Coe, Melissa, Derek and other OrthNorcal staff are absolutely wonderful, caring and extremely supportive. Had my surgery this morning and I can't wait to be pain free and off meds.
Dr. Coe is professional and has instilled confidence in his treatment and recommendations.
I honestly must say...I had spinal fusion from Dr Jeffrey Coe in 2013...right from the start we heard how great he was, from him...the hospital in Los Gatos that he operated my fusion from was less than nice...actually,so particularly dirty that I did not eat any of the meals they provided....his entire staff at the hospital were Eastern European ...had trouble with English...my five days there were the worst I'd ever spent in a hospital...did I tell you another neurosurgeon looked at my MRI after the surgery and told me he had pinched a nerve in my spine inside the cage...so, I've been in pain for years...the other neurosurgeon told me another back surgery to fix the problem was a 50/50 chance I'd end up in a wheelchair...I have just watched..DR DEATH..on peacock tv...and so much of it feels like I was there....brand new Spinal Institute...magazines and all...and just him and his wife as the desk girl....I asked why he couldn't perform my surgery at Stanford or another known hospital....he said...no,no....I only operate out of this hospital..which I soon figured out he had just bought...ok...HES NOT A DR DEATH...but watching this show made me relive how unreal that whole experience was....please do all your due diligence when finding a surgeon who's going to go near your spine! I still walk and talk, but pain is a part of my life ever since 2013....please,please..see a surgeon from a big known hospital....if they don't have privileges at the nice hospitals...is there a reason?. Too late for me to ask.....I wanna make sure everyone who's thinking of letting a surgeon open their back will make sure they've made a wise decision...to this day I have nerve pain down my back....and have to fight to get pain medicine...
Exelente servicio, y atención.
I am a long time patient of Dr Coe. I owe him a lot for saving me from my neck problems and associated pain by recommending the Mobi-C implant 4 years ago. Since then I was able to resume many of my daily activities including my favorite sport: biking. He is very patient and takes his time to go over the disease process in details so he is sure you have a good understanding of the issue and the treatment options. I highly recommend him and am fortunate to have him as my physician.
Coe is a stud! He will guide you to the truth of your condition. Like it or not... -2018Dr. Coe just completed an S1through L3 fusion (following an L4-L5 fusion 3 years ago). While my years of athletic compression injuries & general disc deterioration has progressed (I am now 66), Dr. Coe keeps putting Humpty Dumpty back together again. I am now free of all pre-op pain and when fully healed will be able to return to an active sports life of swimming, backpacking and elliptical cardio without limitations. Dr. Coe will guide you to your best outcome with expertise and experience held by very few in his field. ...and his PA Mellissa is equally amazing in her surgical support role! A great team. -2021
My S1-L5 spinal fusion gave me complete relief after suffering from horrible back pain for over 20 years and excruciating hip pain for about 10 years. My only regret is not getting this done 20 years ago. Since my S1-L5 spinal fusion also cured my hip pain, I probably never would have experienced hip pain. In any case, all my back and hip pain are gone now so I cleared up 2 major issues for the price or more importantly, "pain" of one. Clearing my hip pain was a surprise bonus! I absolutely never expected that, wow! I am 60 years old and even though have multiple minor spinal degenerative issues. Dr Coe told me "this herniation is the one giving you problems, this herniation isn't..." wait what? "This is a happy nerve coming out of here and this one isn't..." Dr Coe was right, trust his judgement. There is a great deal of push-back and scare narratives to getting spinal surgery from medical professionals and online recommendation platforms so I had a lot of fear and concerns. My Orthopedic Surgeon (Dr. Daniel Haber) who doesn't do spinal operations, recommend Dr. Jeffery Coe. So I took comfort in the fact that Dr. Coe is a "doctor's doctor." My insurance wanted me to use a different doctor for my spinal surgery. But I have been sufficiently petrified of spinal surgery to use just anyone, especially a recommendation from my insurance (um no!)! I had to move heaven and earth to get Dr Coe as my surgeon. It's a tough serious surgery. Don't do this on a whim. But I had such a good result with Dr. Jeffery Coe at Orthonorcal that I highly recommend him. Don't suffer for 20 years like I did! Incidentally, I had a Neurologist warn me that a S1-L5 fusion would not help my hip "sciatica" as that nerve drops down from my L4. However, Dr. Coe was somehow able to notice from the MRI that my L5 Spondylolisthesis was pulling everything out of whack and everything else was clinically irrelevant. So Dr. Coe has an amazing ability to figure out exactly what is wrong without the encumbrances of excessive surgical procedures. I'm still amazed how he figured all that out. There are some really smart impressive people in the world. Dr. Jeffery Coe is one of these. Take advantage of this before he retires! I'm sure glad I did. His staff is excellent! Melissa Clay, his nurse practitioner is probably my favorite. She is a super caring nurse on steroids metaphorically speaking
This is a most impressive practice, from the services offered on-site, such as X-rays, which can be done "on the spot," if warranted, to the people who make the place "tick." Dr. Coe is a consummate professional, as as Melissa, the PA who originally helped me. So is Miles, the very capable and welcoming MA for this team. They are all patient, empathetic and knowledgeable, providing the very best in customer service. I feel I can trust them in making decisions for my care, as they answer all questions in detail.
