List of John Chiu's Reviews
Darn Smart Snappy Dresser Cool House Fast Car Bit of a nut But ok overall
Dr. Chiu and his staff are exemplary. I have been seeing Dr. Chiu, as has my entire family, since 2002. For 20 years he has assisted my family with countless visits and varying compels situations. He has offered the best advice and support of any medical professional I have ever dealt with. His broad based knowledge and professional care is second to none. My family trusts Dr. Chiu implicitly. If I could rate 6 stars over 5 I could.
Dr. Chiu is a great family physician I highly recommend. He is calm and analytical and very focused on patients. He allocates a long time to talk to you and finds the best for you. Check out his time spending vs other physicians, especially his annual health exam. I deeply trust and respect him because his priority is his patients. I see a lot of reviews at here and Yelp are related to the payment, but please note that it is not the doctor who decide how much you owe. Your insurance company decides. Trust me, Dr. Chiu doesn’t like this confusions. It drains any physicians who just want to do their job. I am sure you don’t like it either. The insurance statement is confusing as hell, right? But once you know how to decrypt the statement, you will notice Dr. Chiu actually charges on manual, but the insurance company make things confusing. There is a solution. His clinic runs a program that you pay a monthly flat fee for lots of family healthcare. This frees him (and you) from insurance hassles and focus on your health while you get decent healthcare at very reasonable fee. Even better if you have the high deductible health plan and HSA.
His billing department is totally not useful. His staff, Barbie, asked me to contact you insurance company for the bill Dr. Chiu charged me on top of the copay.
It's been 3 years and I am very happy with Dr. Chiu. He has taking care of my health very professionally and friendly.Unlike some doctors I've visited in the past, he allocates long and quality time for my visits. I never felt he is in hurry to finish seeing me and move to the next patient. If you ever felt pressured before or not treated as much as you paid, meet Dr. Chiu. You will feel - he sticks with the quality standards to take care of his patients.I read a lot of feedbacks at Yelp are about disputes over the medical bills. I never had any issue with my bills which were very consistent per visits, health checks and other treatments I received. If you feel something is wrong with your bill, discuss with Dr. Chiu's office first. And remember that the final bill is always decided by your insurance provider.
the secretary to make appointment for new patient is extremely rude and not accommodating at all. She want you to commit to pay $$ for online registration, commit for whatever she'll charge you when you go there even before seeing a doctor. Doctors are suppose to treat patients not milk them for money before knowing the patients. I have perfect insurance but they don't care about that.
My family of four have been patients of Dr. Chiu since 2001. If there is a perfect definition of a family practice, then Dr. Chiu's practice is it bar none. The staff is very friendly and personable. Dr. Chiu is a straight shooter. He always performs a thorough examination before suggesting the best possible remedy and cure.
Dr. Chiu and his staff are great. A very well-run Dr's office.
I am so upset with the receptionist, her name is Barbie? I called this morning to make an appointment for my husband, since my husband is a new patient, she asked me to fill out all these new patient forms including our credit card information before we could make an appointment which I don't understand. However, I did, after that I called back again to make sure she got all the information so that I could make the appointment, but she refused and said that my husband should call them directly to make the appointment. Like I said, my husband asked me to make the appointment for him. What is the problem? Why it is so hard to make the appointment? I don't understand? And I am also shocked that Barbie just hanged off the phone while I am still talking. How could she being so rude? Not a qualified receptionist at all. I suddenly decided I will never come to this office. So sad that doctor Chiu might be a good doctor, but because of the receptionist, I don't even get a chance to see the doctor.
I have stayed with Dr. Chiu for quite some years, just because I have to change my insurance plan so I have to change my doctor. Dr. Chiu is very good and responsible doctor I have known. He had helped me to healed my chronic skin disorder. l really appreciate his help and professional.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
