Anne Alyse Ostis - Acupuncture Acupuncture, Prolo Therapy/PRP, Chiropractic and Applied Kinesiology My story began when my banjo music teacher and band leader told me that my right and left hands were not in synch. Continued practice only made matters worse and my role of playing rhythm degraded. I explained to my wife that many of my routine chores were becoming increasingly uncomfortable and difficult to do. The Medical Conditions: In my 70th year, my right shoulder was very painful from years of use, no specific cause could be identified; my left should had been injured years ago by a soccer injury playing goalie; and my neck was in constant stiffness and pain, presumably from years of physical work, and when my car was rear-ended. One of my doctor's is a notable Chiropractor, as well as, an Applied Kinesiologist. After his treatments did not improve my conditions, he recommended that I make an appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon. The appointment was made and after a series of X-rays, MRI's and Neurological tests and evaluations, I was told that my right rotator cuff discomfort was due to three torn tendons: two minor tears and one high tear. Specific Cause: Unknown. The MRI showed that nerves associated with the C3 though the C5 vertebrae were impinged from arthritis, and that I also had a mild case of carpal tunnel in my right wrist. Fortunately, the nerves were functioning. The Orthopedic surgeon and Neurologist recommended elective surgeries first for the rotator-cuff, and then later, surgery for the impinged nerves. Then a second Chiropractor suggested I consider Prolotherapy and Plasma Rich Platelet treatments instead of elective surgery. (He is also a patient of successful Prolo and PRP treatments from sport injuries as a youth and collegiate NCAA football.) His recommendation: Get a Second Opinion from an established doctor using Prolo and PRP; Surgery may be necessary, but the risks can be very high with major surgery. I did and I cancelled my elective orthopedic surgery to repair my rotator-cuff. I began treatment for those areas with Prolotherapy (Prolo) and Plasma Rich Platelets (PRP). (Stem Cell was not necessary.) After two months of treatments, I was able to resume doing simple handyman chores without discomfort to my right shoulder and wrist, and including flying my competition free flight catapult gliders pain free. Why I included Acupuncture to improve the benefits from the Prolo and PRP: My Chiropractor, as well as the Doctor treating me with Prolo and PRP encouraged me to consider Acupuncture to augment their treatments. Anne Alyse Ostis came favorably recommended as an Acupuncturist. Her comprehensive treatments included Acupuncture, E-Stim, Herbal supplements, and Cupping. They most definitely improved my mechanical and neurological issues so that I am now playing banjo again without the numbness and tingling in my wrists and fingers. It took several months, but I am now again enjoying playing and entertaining publicly with the banjo band. My range of motion for both shoulders and the neck has improved as well. Simply stated, all three practitioners have restored functionality to my hands, shoulders and neck, and reduced the pain and discomfort significantly. The greatly reduced neuropathy has allowed me to enjoy my musical hobby, playing the tenor banjo! My wife and I are happier now that I can resume my handiwork around the house, the band is happy about my return, and I am very happy to be able to fly my competitive model airplanes again painlessly. Anne Alyse is an amazing practitioner. She is kind, thoughtful, attentive, and very intuitive. I have consulted with her for many different reasons (physical, mental, and emotional). She has been very helpful at each point. I would recommend her services to anyone. From the moment I first met with her, it was apparent how much she cares and invests in the healing of each of her patients.
I started going to Los Gatos Acupuncture and Massage over the summer of 2018. I was in a car accident over 20 years ago, which resulted in needing spinal fusion in my lower back in 2013. Surgery was necessary to stabilize my spine. I have suffered for years with chronic, intense pain in my lower back and hip pain since the accident which increased after surgery. Anne Alyse has helped me over the past several months reducing inflammation which has created more manageable days with less pain. She has helped me understand what's going on with my spine, sacrum and body. We are working together to come up with a plan to continue to reduce the inflammation as well as gain mobility and strength my spine and surrounding areas. Prior to working with Anne Alyse I saw other massage therapists, but the improvement was limited to hours and at times a day; There were no long lasting results and I continued to have a increasing number of painful days. With Anne Alyse's help and expertise I'm gaining more days with less inflammation and overall less pain. I can't thank Anne Alyse enough for her help, guidance and all her knowledge of pain management. Anne Alyse is providing me a quality of life that I have wanted for over 20 years, simply to be in less pain.
Anne Alyse is fantastic! I went in to see her twice, quite broken. The second time was much more difficult as I was suffering back pain, and a lot of people warned me not to get a massage as it could set me back. Luckily I did not listen and went to see her. She was gentle, understanding, and intuitive. I felt better once I left, and I was back to work about a day and a half later. I trusted her because she had helped me so much the first time, and I'm really glad I did. She is a great healer
Elisabeth Stitt · 4 hours ago When you are in pain and feeling less than your best, you want someone who will gently but clearly bring you along the path to wellness. Anne Alyse Ostis of Los Gatos Acupuncture is just that person. Just being in her empathetic presence brings my blood pressure down. Her work is informed by such deep knowledge of classical Chinese medicine, that when combined with her her deep intuition, it feels like she knows you at a cellular level.
Excellent massage and acupuncture, I had my first massage here today and I will be recommending her to all my friends and family. Anne Alyse is so calm and professional, she has great energy and is totally on a mission to heal your body. I will definitely be coming back and am blessed to have found her.
I am dependent on my body feeling healthy and strong for my job, and I go to Anne Alyse to help keep me that way! I have seen her for shoulder pain, a low back strain and gut inflammation. She fixed me up in 1 or 2 sessions for each condition (they all occurred separately), and knew exactly what to do. She has phenomenal intuition, and an amazing understanding of anatomy and the mind-body connection. She's also super fun to work with, and always seems up to date with new techniques or herbal treatments. I love how she incorporates some focused myofascial release into her acupuncture. Love love the work she does!!! Thank you!
My daughter recommended Anne Alyse and I'm glad she did. Anne Alyse is a wonderful healer. She cares about you and your aches and pains. She has given me so much relief from my lower back pain. My treatment included acupuncture, Chinese herbs and massages. I always left her office feeling rejuvenated and pain free. I highly recommend Anne Alyse for her gentle, calm and caring manner. She is amazing.
I have been going to Anne Alyse for a few years now. She has really helped me regulate my peri-menopausal hormones, my thyroid condition and my tendinitis with acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Her caring and gentle ways keeps me coming back. I highly recommend her.
Anne Alyse is an amazing healer! I've been seeing her for years and have managed to avoid knee surgery with her acupuncture treatment along getting rid of my allergy symptoms. I have regular treatments and am in excellent health - thank you Anne Alyse!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
