List of Peter Youn's Reviews
I sought multiple opinions and Dr. Youn was willing to try the least invasive option for my complex fistula. Others wanted to conduct many surgical procedures over time because the least invasive options “don’t work.” Dr. Youn placed a seton and then administered fibrin glue and I am now 2+ years recovered. He is a true professional- short in followups and correspondence but he know his stuff.
If you want to be in the care of a wonderful physician Dr Yuen must be your choice.
Dr Youn is a great Doctor, patient informative and a patient first Doctor. His staff is not, they are cold non understanding and not professional. Taking a missed appointment personal. Not understanding missing an appointment is not like missing a hair salon appointment this is my life and just a 9-5 job for you. You are a care giver even though you are not in the hospital use better judgement in ...
I just had SIBO-C. and instead of finding solution, or help, he says why dont you just do a colostopy and you wont have to worry about being constipated anymore. I ran out of there for Only people with serious cancer do a colostopy,, No thanks.
Dr. Peter Youn knows his stuff and I have appreciated his care and attention to detail. His current front office staff is abrupt, unpleasant, unhelpful, doesn't return calls - I would rather drink a gallon of bowel prep juice than deal with them. If you can stomach the front office staff, Dr. Youn will take care of you.
My partner had their colonoscopy done in 2018 and found him to be personable, articulate and thorough. However, since their office will not offer video appointments during the pandemic, our family may have to find another doctor.
The wonderful physician I had seen for many years retired. As a colon cancer patient with numerous colonoscopies under my belt I was looking for a physician with training and a speciality in colorectal diseases. Is the MD interested in me as a patient, would take the time to listen to my concerns explain things within the context of my history. Dr. Peter Youn did just that during my initial office visit. He listens carefully, explains in detail what to expect before, during and post procedure. He visits his patients just before the procedure and during recovery. This is not always done at other facilities. Each time I saw him he asked if I had questions. Dr. Youn is professional, friendly, and skilled with a little more than 20 years. Dr. Youn’s staff is outstanding from the moment you first enter the office. Each person is extremely friendly, professional, kind, and helpful. Their adherence to the Covid protocol is on point. My experience was outstanding.
The wonderful physician Dr. Coughlin, whom I was a patient for several years retired this summer 2021. As a colon cancer patient with numerous colonoscopies under my belt I was looking for a physician who is trained as a specialist in colorectal diseases. It is important that he/she demonstrates interest in me as a patient, would take the time to listen to my concerns and explain things within the context of my history. Dr. Peter Youn listened carefully and took the time to explain in detail what to expect and the post procedure process. Once again there were polyps to remove. I was very pleased he provide images post procedure. He visits his patients just before the procedure and during recovery. This is not always done at other facilities. One previous experience I had was with a large northern California multi-clinic medical practice where you did not meet the physician. On the initial visit I asked if I will see a physician. I was stunned to be met with irritation by a nurse and a physician who was in the vicinity. I was informed "that is the way we do things here". Unfortunately, I had a post procedure complication requiring hospitalization. In hindsight I should have terminated the first appointment. That is not the case with Dr. Youn. Each time I saw him he provided an update and asked if there were questions. Dr. Youn listened carefully to my medical history and concerns during my first office visit. I like his suggestion of adding psyllium as a fiber supplement. I am very pleased and would not hesitate to returning for a colonoscopy in the future or even colorectal surgery if needed.Dr. Youn's staff is outstanding from the moment you first enter the office. Each person is extremely friendly, professional, kind, and helpful. Their adherence to Covid protocol is on point.I choose to have the colonoscopy procedure at El Camino Health: Los Gatos Campus. I cannot say enough about the excellent care from each and every person I met be it admitting, nurses, assistants, OR manager, transporter or volunteer. My experience was exceptional. I do not hesitate is recommending Dr. Youn.
This guy gutted me like a fish- even though non-invasive surgery was an option. Then the wound reopened and he didn't care. I wrote him a review on another page and when I was coming out of anesthesia for a follow up colonoscopy, he chose THAT point to discuss it with me. Look, he's like a doctor around 1900. You get bit by a snake and even though antivenom is available and he's certified to use it, HE would be more comfortable just cutting your leg off... leaving you permanently damaged, like he did me! I don't know what he did, but he definitely messed with some other stuff while he was in there! Now, Im gassier than a grazing cow and I eat anything spicy or with garlic and I'm running for the can 5 times before the night is out. His staff is also terrible- they don't email, or forward messages, or read messages... which is why they called me a year after to schedule another colonoscopy with him.
The best doctor ever! Highly professional, knowledgeable, kind, modest. He healed my father's fistula. When I paid deductible due balances, I received my check back in a mail after few days!!! His staff is also incredibly kind and professional!Highly recommended place!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
