I could not recommend Dr Hanley highly enough. He is an exceptional surgeon and a unicorn in his field. I was a patient of Dr Hanley’s in 1998. I travelled from Australia to America for the surgery at 5 years of age. Dr Hanley - the Man - the Myth - the Legend! A humble man who has the right to have an ego, that’s Dr Hanley. Once I found Dr Hanley, I would walked to California if I had to. I knew it was the very best place for my daughter to be safe. I will forever be grateful to him and his team. My daughter had 4 open heart surgeries - 3 of which were at Stanford. CHOP was no longer able to do anything to help my daughter. Dr Hanley and his team truly saved her life. She’s only 2 years old, however, there has been a significant improvement on her echos since her last surgery May 4th. Dr Hanley has a gift. I feel so comfortable in knowing my daughter was in his hands, the best hands to ever be made ! There will never ever be enough thank you’s ! I was about 4 years old when i finally got the help i needed. I was born with both heart and lung conditions that left me with a very low chance of survival. Almost all heart surgeons in AZ said there was nothing they could do and just misdiagnosed me with bronchitis. No one even wanted to open me up and help, and if they did they gave up so fast. My parents did so much research and found Dr. Hanley and we made the long drive to San Francisco. He was able to not only find the exact problem but he saved my life. I am 20 years old now and living a stress free life with beautiful lungs. I am so thankful for him and what he has done for me and my parents! He is the best out there!

Dr.Hanley does what others say is impossible. My son's heart surgery was routine for him. Other surgeons looked at my son and said they never seen anything as complex. Dr Hanley and Lucile Packard hospital said it was routine for them.
