Hooman Melamed's Online Review Report Card

I have met with Dr. Melamed twice and each time not only was he more knowledgeable than any other physician I had met with prior but he was caring, attentive and communicated clearly what needed to be done. He acknowledged my pain and explained the reasons behind it. Other physicians had simply brushed it off and sent me away. Dr. Melamed is truly one of a kind and the only surgeon I will trust moving forward with surgery.

I would give Dr Hooman Melamed, MD 5,000 stars if that was possible. He’s an incredible surgeon, from his curiosity, investigative mind and ability to connect, you know where you stand immediately and what the next steps are and it’s nice to know for Dr. M it’s not Always surgery! It’s rare to find a doctor that combines a personal touch, expertise, a willingness to listen and dialog with the patient. His staff are top notch too! The Melamed team are always helpful and kind, they made sure I had everything I needed from start to finish. This I know because, I have had two surgeries with Dr. M, about 7 years apart, for two completely separate issues. Also, I have called upon him and his staff throughout the years when I thought I might be having an issue. It’s nice to know they have my back, no pun intended. I Highly recommend Dr. Melamed, he’s hands down the only orthopedic surgeon I trust!

I was introduced to Dr. Melamed for a revision surgery needed after being ejected from a Jeep and bursting my T5 vertebrae leaving me paralyzed from the chest down. If you seek a surgeon who listens, treats you as an individual and follows the most up to date surgical approaches HE IS your doctor. Example, my first surgeon did hardly anything leaving a ton of work left to be done (improper fixation, wrong equipment and left my spinal cord crushed). Instead of rushing mine to get more patients in, he dedicated his ENTIRE surgical day just for me so he wasn’t pressured to hurry and get to the next. He took the time to explain everything down to each little detail which is very hard to find these days. His office staff is very punctual and cohesive as well so nothing goes unnoticed. I cannot thank him enough for what he did for me because if I hadn’t found him my fixation would have failed resulting in further complications. I am now two years removed from surgery and all is well ??????

I was very pleased with the results from my surgery. Dr. Melamed explained each step completely. It is great that he uses techniques to minimize pain and inflammation without using narcotics after surgery.

I have had two very successful lumbar discectomies with Dr, Melamed. Everything about his practice and process provides you with the highest level of care and most importantly relief from pain. He has the amazing ability to diagnose your issue through expertly reading MRI and CT scans. He always follows a conservative approach and will only do surgery if absolutely necessary. All his surgeries are as minimally invasive as possible. He will only do a fusion is no other option exists. With his skill and most up to date equipment, recovery time is remarkably quick. I was able to return to normal activities within two weeks with both surgeries. His staff is very efficient and professional. Dr. Melamed will take the time to thoroughly explain your situation and answer all your questions. Dr Melamed takes his time with his patients, I never feel rushed. He makes sure all my concerns are addressed, and any questions are answered in a way that I don’t have to have a medical degree to understand. He’s straightforward, doesn’t sugarcoat it. He performed a lengthy 2 part surgery on me for a L3-S1, front and back lumbar fusion, and pelvic fixation. This only after more than 40 years of daily, chronic back pain, chiropractic visits, pain management physicians, with narcotics, and so many epidural steroid injections. Since being taken care of by Dr Melamed, I’m now virtually pain free. Better than I thought I’d EVER feel again. He’s a Rock Star!
