I finally felt like I was heard and not just given medication. In fact I was taken off several by him and I am feeling so much better. He didn't seem rushed and even asked my husband if he had anything to add or questions. That meant the world because we are a family and another perspective is helpful to get a well rounded answer. LOVE the staff too!

Great doctor. Very thorough about issues before suggesting cause and remedy. No ego about involving a specialist when needed.Office staff are also always friendly. Waiting room is always quiet and clean. If you need a doctor in the Monterey area, Dr. Gjeltema or one of his colleagues are great choice.

Dr Gjtelma started caring for my family, 83, at the time it was myself, husband and daughter. After my daughter got married started having children '97, he became their Dr also. Not only is he a wonderful, very knowledgeable Dr, but a beautiful, compassionate person. We were so hurt when he moved from Albany, Ca. We miss you Dr Gjeltema.

Less than a 1 Worst doctor ive ever s3en ive submitted 2 complaints to my insurance because this dumb doctor doesnt listen to any of your concerns i am now severely underweight and this doctor was supposed to track my weight gain after surgery and hasnt even scheduled an appointment i wouldnt reccomend this doctor to anyone

I am so grateful I found Dr. Gjeltema.  Although his office staff (particularly patient care coordinators) often don't follow through in time, he does his best, is kind, thoughtful, intelligent and patient.Doctor's offices are often stressful but Dr. Gjeltema always makes me feel like he has time for me and cares about my well being.  The best doctor I've had in a long time, despite being in a busy setting.  He will order appropriate tests I ask for and not dismiss my concerns.  He usually refers me out to a specialist when the problem is better treated in that setting.  And I trust who he refers me to because he thinks well of them.  Thank you, Dr. Gjeltema!

Excellent bedside manner and very knowledgeable!

Outstanding MD he provides a great deal of teaching and explaining the disease. I felt as if I have a provider that actually listens. I wound recommend him to anyone.

Worse than a 1. I stuck with this doctor and he was never any help. No relevant testing, no nothing. I was falling through the cracks of insufficient medical care. If you are healthy and just need quickie checkups he might be ok for you but if you have medical problems, he doesn't really seem to want to do real compassionate doctoring. Getting refills is a nightmare and his office staff are rude and no help when you need it. Useless.

Dr. Djeltema is a fine listener who takes the time and trouble to really hear and understand your concerns. His clinical judgement and sense of caring is remarkable. He takes time to explain your issues and to follow-up on any problems thereafter. Highly recommended.
