Loved it no wait line...

The worst option in Humboldt. Do not go here. Rude, angry staff with no desire to help anyone, especially not children. If you're about to die and have no other choice, drive the extra 20 minutes to Eureka.

Worst Clinic I've ever been to. Arie, the clinic manager is arrogant condescending and lies. Dr. William Carlson, MD doesn't know how to make a referral. I asked to be referred to a specific pediatrist. I gave Dr Carlson The name, number, and address of the pediatrist and he refereed me to someone completely different that had misdiagnosed me. The nursing staff a rude, I asked to get a release information for my daughters medical records and the nurse told me togo home they will call me. I said all I need is to sign a release information to get medical records and the nurse threatened total the cops. This clinic is total joke.

I called today, at 10:39 AM. Tina answered the phone after 10 minutes of hold. After I introduced myself, I hear "click"... she hung up on me. I call back again immediately, thinking it was a mistake, and after another 10 minutes of hold I got Tina again. Same thing, I introduce myself and "click" she hangs up. So I call back a 3rd time, again, another 10 minutes of hold. Tina once again. This time she rushes me through the conversation, but hey, at least I got my appointment. Please learn some respect for your patients

Scheduled an appointment 2 months ago for today. I showed up 30min early. They told me they cancelled my appt because I didn't confirm my appt. My fault? On top of everything they are always booked. So they expect me to wait another 2 mo for the same appt.. Beginning of October?! It's just a General check up. Nothing special... I'm baffled at the lack of care by this facility.#WorstHealthcareFacility

The staff here do their best to accommodate patient needs and each time I have been in there they were very attentive and respectful to me.I have seen this office very busy and noticed a couple of time that people are rude to the staff.If you have plans near your doctor visit, reschedule. Take responsibility and don’t blame the staff because you couldn’t manage your own schedule.This location can get busy and there is limited space but the staff are extremely friendly and the doctors have good bed-side manner.

"Open Door" is ironically the opposite of my experience! It is incredibly hard to get an appointment, half the time because the phone line is dead or busy? Do they not pay their phone bill or have they just never heard of an answering machine? My daughter is now a toddler and I have had to deal with them for all of her doctor visites (new baby, one month, three month, six month, nine month, 1 year, etc....). After at least 10 phone calls and an average of 20 minutes, I can through only between the hours of 9-11am and 2-3pm. Do many place get a 3 hour lunch break? When I do get through, I am then often placed on hold for an average of 10-12 minutes. When calling from my work phone, I am automatically disconnected. Going in is just as bad, there is usually a long line with one window or no window open and it can take up to 20 minutes just to check in. You get a clear impression that they need a physical barrier separating patient (us) from medical staff ( them). I have showed up 30 minutes early to check in 10 minutes early and then had to wait an hour after my appointment time in the waiting room before being called back to wait again. If it is lunch time, or close to lunch time, there are no receptionist present until lunch is over.            One time, I showed up on time, was unaware of the 20 minute check in line and was told my appointment was canceled because I was checking in 10 minutes late. My daughter was one month old at the time an now all of her appointments are one month off because that was the soonest they could reschedule us.      If there was literally any other choice available, I would go there. But there's not, and that's why they get away this atrocious behavior.

This doctor's office has so little funding, they asked me to give a urine sample in a styrofoam cup, and a stool sample in a clean unused leftover container that I have to purchase myself. Needless to say I never returned after the day they requested both of those things from me.

Dr Joe Carroll and the staff at Mckinleyville do everything thy can to help their patients.I have been with Dr. Carroll since he was in the Arcata family practice and Eurekaand I followed him to Mckinleyville even though I moved to Eureka. I have never had a problem with the office staff that doesn't get fixed right away.
