Carrie Rothstein's Online Review Report Card

I fired Dr Rothstein and Menlo Medical today. After years of discontent with terrible telephone reception system, chronically late doctors, and rigid robots occupying the reception desks I am done. Dr Rothstein has never once seen me on time. Indeed I have had to wait over 2 hours and have fallen asleep in the room waiting for her. Today I arrived 11 minutes late to my appointment due to an injury accident and fire trucks blocking the single lane road leading to Menlo Medical and the receptionist told me I would have to reschedule as they only allow a 10 minute grace period. Never mind that I have waited over 2 hours when I have been on time. Never mind that I have a job and taken time off to see a doctor. Never mind that my time has value too. Rigidly applying the 10 minute rule given the chronic tardiness of the doctor is disgusting and reprehensible. Do I get to apply a grace period? What about all of my wasted hours waiting for these unsympathetic "HCPs"? I have a PPO and I am taking my business elsewhere. My advice to any patient considering Menlo Medical: WALK AWAY. Take your insurance and out-of-pocket dollars to another clinic that respects patients and doesn't trample on you or your time.

I saw Dr. Rothstein for years and trusted her, but that trust was destroyed in the last year of treatment. She outright lied to my husband and me and then we were hit with thousands of dollars in bills. Dealing with Stanford and Menlo Clinic has been, as of today, an 8 month ordeal.

I saw Dr. Rothstein and several doctors at the Meno Clinic for year. I trusted Dr. Rothstein until the last year of care, which has resulted in thousands of dollars of bills and (as of today) 8 months of frustration with billing, Stanford, Menlo Clinic, and Dr. Rothstein's office. Dr. Rothstein outright lied to my husband and me and then billed us at outrageous rates. The office has been able to answer zero of my questions and usually it requires at least 3 other people to get any kind of resolution.

Dr. Rothstein is the best OBGYN I've ever experienced! She was highly recommended by one of my primary care doctors and I could t be happier! She helped me with ovarian cysts in my 20's, gave me the best prenatal care and checkups for both my pregnancies in my 30's and 2 successful deliveries. She is very smart, efficient, friendly and I trust her 100%. Highly recommend her!!

Dr. Rothstein took care of me during my entire pregnancy and delivered our baby in May. I've met a lot of doctors, and I found her to be one of the best I've encountered. My pet peeve is doctors who are condescending. Dr. Rothstein is the polar opposite. She always treated us with respect and kindness so that we always felt comfortable asking her all of our questions. She calmed our nerves and walked us through our first pregnancy like a true professional.

Dr. Rothstein is a wonderful physician. She is very patient and informative. I feel like she was able to read me immediately and was able to provide the exact kind of care that I need to feel comfortable. Can't say enough good things.

Dr. Rothstein is very informative and knowledgable. I am early in my pregnancy and found her to be very attentive and caring. And because I am high risk, she has made sure to keep me healthy and I LOVE that she is showing empathy and just wants me to have a healthy baby.I am glad I've had a good experience with her so far:)

I am writing this review to help people to decide. I has took me 6 months to be able to write this review.I selected Dr. Carolin Mannon as OBG and I did all the checkins with her. I choosed Menlo Clinic just because of her. Right during my delivery she went on holydays and Rothstein assisted my "delivery"I arrived to the hospital around 4:30pm and we called Menlo Clinic around 12:30pm. Rothstein didn't come to see me until 10:30pm. She came because one of the nurses said that I was 10centimeters dilated, after 12 hours of laboring. I was without epidural, tired but excited and very happy and proud of all the work. When she came she was cold as ice. She checked me, not very nicely and said plaintly; - you are still 6 centimeters, the same than when you came. It was the worst news for me. The way she communicated to us was very impersonal and unprofessional. She never at any moment said: -don't worry, you will be fine; - You have done great; or anything encouraging. At the encounter of this situation, her only suggestion was C-Section. Believe me, there was many things we could have done, but when I ask her she said that she didn't have any suggestions. To make things worse, after hearing this news, she was rushing us, telling us when she was getting off her shift and that she wanted to do the C-section before.The only thing I can say on her behalf is that she may have bee tired because 2 of the 4 doctors in the practice where out for holydays and she was doing double shifts and trying to attend the births. To me, that is exactly what I saw on her, not the temper and patience that a doctor should have. And probably this was mixed with the lack of showing empathy, also mentioned in a review above. Additionally, there was a noticeable conflict of between her and my doula, to a point where my doula decided to step out of the room so that the conflict wouldn't come down on me. We also didn't feel that she respected us and our ideas or our birth plan. Finally, my little boy was in intensive care after she took him out into this world and she even said that it was because of my decision to wait!He was healthy as a flower and it was just her scare and over conservative view that put him there instead. This was a horrible experience for me and I wish someone would have written in this yelp site something about her behavior and manners in the delivery room before.This same experience, including the C-section and the intensive care wouldn't have been so hard if she would have behaved with a little of empathy, humanity and true care for a patient.A first mom

Dr. Carrie Rothstein has been my doctor for the past 2.5 years, since I moved here. I just love her! She helped me recovering from my first pregnancy, later on with some regular gynecological issues, and now all the way through my second pregnancy, including delivering my baby at Stanford hospital. She's been a great support this year, always listening to all my questions and concerns, with lot's of patience. Whenever she had the slitest concern she always shared it with me in the most un-stressful way. I highly appreciated that. I felt lucky to have her with me during my delivery. Anyway, I've recommended her to all my friends, and I would certainly recommend her to everyone else as well! m.

There is no need to be a hypochondriac when Dr. Rothstein is checking you out. For the past 2 years she has scared me half to death with the possibility of diseases and then ordered a battery of invasive tests that all turn out to be negative. I am just wondering how much she is charging my insurance company... I am in my 20's, I am a healthy weight, I work out, and I eat right. I don't know how she is paid, but she definitely left me with the feeling that my insurance company was making a healthy contribution to a down payment on a new house. It is one thing to be safe rather than sorry, but it is an entirely different thing to put your patients through an array of unnecessary and uncomfortable tests for no better reason than to charge, charge, charge.
