Got partial knee replacement in may 2021. Was so excited to get my life back. Instead I have a knee that is worse off than before and no recourse or recommendations or explanations by Dr. Dearborne. He wants me to see his partner for ligament issues. I’m a teacher and $10k was a lot to pay for a botched knee. He’s supposed to be the best of the best but I regret having the surgery. My quality of life has worsened and honestly it’s depressing. Never do a partial whatever anyone says. My PT said he had never seen anything like it from the X-rays. I called last week for one last follow up. Didn’t even return my call so I decided to leave a review. Didn’t want to be negaitice but my quality of life ha worsened so I should be honest.

Dr. Dearborn is one of the sweetest doctors I've ever met. Very caring. Staff is great too. I'm a year out from knee surgery and I would have no problem recommending him.

I am two years out of having my right knee replaced, I hurt it at age 16 (63 now) we dropped a fiat on it doing a high school prank. The Doctor was great the PA was even better as she was the one who took care of me start to finish. My worry was can I kneel? I am a car guy, the answer is yes. I do get what I call phantom pains occasionally. This was an excellent experience for me and I got the best care. They also did hips and knee on my dad before me. Thank you! Stuart

Dr John Dearborn and Associates operated on my knee, their staff has excellent customer service and their process on operating procedures couldn't have been any smoother. Dr. Dearborn is kind, efficient and an expert at hip replacements. I went in with an extreme amount of pain. I was in surgery for less than an hour. When I woke up, ALL my pain was gone. It is 3 years later, and my hip still feels great! I am walking straight and am pain free!

After much research, I finally gave Dr. Dearborn a call. My mother-in-law is clearly in need of a knee replacement and was visiting for a few months. Though she does not have medical insurance here in the US, we decided to pay out of pocket for the Xrays and evaluation. I called on a Tuesday and asked for first available and to my surprise, they had one opening on the next Friday. So we were lucky it seems, as many people wait weeks for appointments. I filled out all the paperwork ahead of time and emailed it to the front office. Streamlining our visit. The entire team was helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. Allowing us in the Xray room and exam room for translating. We met with the NP first and reviewed the Xrays and basic health history and specifics around her knee. Dr. Dearborn came in and spent a good 20 minutes doing an exam, looking at the range of motion, reviewing the Xrays, and going over the entire clinical process from pre-op PT to post-op PT. He was kind, informative, and seemed to care about his patients. Since we do not have international insruance Dr. Dearborn offered the "cash program" which, in my opinion, was a great price for the new knee package. The only thing it does not include is the post-op PT. But that's not expensive. They also burned her Xrays to CD so we can have her MD at home review and make his/her recommendations. Very impressed. Not sure if we'll proceed here or back home, but the service from the front office to the assistants, to the NP, and the doctor were spot on. Hope I don't need it, but if I do need a knee, I'll be back!

Dr. Dearborn replaced my left knee. I got a staff infection and had a second surgery three days later. It has been swollen and in pain for four years. My new Doctor, stated, "this kind of movement is not normal at all, it is almost like "you are walking on stilts" each step. He determined that the polyethylene spacer in knee joint is too thine replaced it with one 4 cm thicker. Now I am pain free for,the firest time in four years. I placed this rating on another site rating doctors and Dr Dearborn lied to the public in his response stating "he has no patients in Idaho." He knows well I live in Idaho. He has my records. He told me I could even drive home keeping it iced and taking short walks every hour or so. He sent me the bills to my Idaho address just fine. Think about this one. He gets business selling the public on his Christianity. Really, then why lie to the public denying your mistakes and making me pay for the second surgery out of pocket when the Staff infection was his teams fault?

I just brought my husband home today. My husband had double knee replacement done by Dr. Dearborn. The surgery appears to have gone well. But he's in so much pain, I worry I'll have to take him to the emergency room at Stanford. You must understand Dr. Dearborn & Associates have "the plan". It literally comes in a very thick binder. You have to take a class about the surgery and after care. They have a schedule and everyone on their team is ALL ABOUT THE PLAN. They are all like cheerleaders. Pushing you, pushing you, down the field. My husband's knees are incredibly swollen, bruised, and still bleeding. He can barely walk, since his left leg was still numb (read unable to move his leg) until last night from the epidural they gave him for surgery. And according to the nurses, PT, and OT on staff yesterday, my husband was borderline to stay in the hospital one more night. Because yesterday, it was physically impossible for my husband to sit in a chair and he couldn't do his PT. In the late evening last night (after the leg woke up more), my husband walked a little in the hallway. And by "walked", I mean held up by a yellow plastic belt around his chest by a nurse and followed by an another nurse with a wheelchair. My husband tried to put on a brave face, shuffled around the hallway a little bit, but almost passed out from the pain. This morning they drugged him up with pain meds, walked him to bathroom to pee, put him in the shower, dressed him, rolled him to group OT, and had him walk ever-so-slowly-and-painfully back to his room. My husband was in so much pain afterwards the nurses gave him 4 different medications (including one intravenously), put him back in bed, raised his feet, added the ice machine, put the leg pumps back on him, and said he wasn't looking too good. After that, I was sure my husband would receive care for one more night. Surely, they could understand the incredible pain my husband was in. I told the staff, based on everything I've seen, I'm not taking my husband home today. Instead, Dave came to my husband's room with a group of people and said my husband was going home today. He also told me that patients don't dictate when they go home, the doctors do. I told him that his own staff said my husband was borderline just late last night and surely he'd give my husband the benefit of more hospital care. He claimed he didn't know that his staff felt my husband was on the borderline last night, but this morning, my husband passed all the requirements to go home. And Dave and I went back and forth. He said you're leaving. I said we're not. You're leaving. We're not. The OT guy said your husband is going to hurt here or at home. The nursing manager said insurance won't cover it and you'll have to pay out of pocket. Dave said he'd talk to Dr. Dearborn. I was being my husband's advocate. I stood my ground. When everyone left the room, my husband took my hand and said he didn't want to be in their care anymore and he wanted to go home. He wanted to go home... NOW!! And, that's when I knew my husband didn't trust them anymore. He was done. He just wanted to go home. My personal opinion is they are good people. But they've been following "the plan" like robots for so many years, that they don't have much compassion for patients that need extra time to heal. On the day of my husband's surgery, he was 1 of 8 surgeries. They are a well oiled machine and have no empathy for possible changes to "the plan". Good luck with your journey.
