List of Divya Railan's Reviews
I had to stop exercising for several weeks due to an injury, and I was feeling flabby... so, after I heard about EmSculpt from a friend, I decided to give it a try. And I'm SO glad I did -- EmSculpt with Dr. Railan was amazing. I had spent years doing crunches, but never saw visible results. After 6 sessions of EmSculpt, I have more definition in my abs than ever before, and I am able to do longer planks. These encouraging results have really helped kick-start a healthier lifestyle for me. I'd highly recommend EmSculpt with Dr. Railan. See the before/after pictures.
A year ago, I went to Dr Railan for help after an IPL procedure that had gone bad from another dermatologist (see photos under Marie Jhin San Carlos). My face was scarred. I had to cover the scars with very thick foundation. I was embarrassed to be seen in public. Friends who had IPL said that it was too aggressive.Fast forward a year, my scars have diminished. I have a protocol that works best for my skin. I have had Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant, and use her name products which are amazing. Dr Railan saved my skin.
Dr Railan is good at what she does, but get ready to PAAAY. Inspecting moles isn't really the end game here, it's selling products and cosmetic procedures (Shop around for the products -- I never purchase them from her bc they are over priced). After getting a few procedures, I would suggest only going to her when you need a real doctor to do the work. Injecting botox between the eyes for instance, you don't need to pay $400 for her to do it-- get a nurse somewhere else-- for half the cost or less --who does that all day every day. I would only go to Dr. Railan for trickier things like sculptura or ultherapy, etc. You will be overpaying otherwise and not getting any added benefit. LaserAway has great deals and does many of the same procedures (botox and coolscuplting for instance)-- and those nurses do them all day long. Dr Railans prices are high and non-competitive, so go to her only for very selective things. And be sure you know what the costs are before hand. I have had multiple incidents where I have been over-charged (sorry but after paying thousands of dollars for treatments and I ask you to look at a mole, its not appropriate to tack on another couple hundred dollars for you to glance at something on my skin while Im there for an expensive cosmetic procedure). Be smart about what you do with her and shop around. Even day spas can do a equally good job of basic botox.
I had a red rash near my eyes when I came in to see Dr. Railan. I saw her 4 times, & each time she did not know what was wrong. She advised trying steroid cream (to no effect), and on one of my visits her advice was just "keep trying, see if it works." She had no idea what the redness was. I am very unimpressed with her diagnostic abilities, as she is an expensive specialist and seeing her 4 times produced no resolution. The office is eerily polite and standoffish to the point of being rude.
With a benign sun spot, my GP recommended "close monitoring (with dermoscopy using magnification)". Dr Divya Railan was nice. She looked at the spot from 2 feet for a few seconds, recommended sunscreen, and then asked for $302 -- really?
Dr. Railan is a skilled, knowledgeable, and caring physician with a pristine office and a warm and helpful staff. I have been her patient for a number of issues and have always experienced excellent outcomes through her gentle hands. I recommend her services very highly.
Had minor surgery twice now and both times Dr. Railan was very gentle and I felt no pain. She is very skilled.
Dr. Ralian always feels like she has something else on her mind when you are in the room with her. I do not feel like my needs are being heard and I always feel rushed.
I have been a patient of Dr. Railin for 10 years. Even when she moved her practice from San Jose to Palo Alto/Menlo Park, it never occurred to me to find a new dermatologist. The hour drive each way is well worth it to me. She is absolutely the best! Her office has all the state of the art equipment and products and her staff is knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. She herself is the most caring and personable physician I have ever known. I actually look forward to seeing her, which is generally 2-3 times a year. I certainly cannot say that about my regular health checkups. I highly recommend Dr. Railin to anyone in need of a dermatologist.
Dr. Railan has treated me for multiple issues and I've always received nothing but the best care, both by her and her wonderful staff. I started seeing her because she was near my office at the time, but now that I'm across the Bay again I make the trek as I wouldn't even consider going to anyone else. One issue I had was severe hair loss and her referral to a specialist in SF literally changed my life. I'm really surprised at some of the other reviews as I've found her, and her staff, to be conscientious, very caring, personable, and clear with follow-up instructions. A super clean office in a great location is an added plus.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
