List of Brian K Sugimoto's Reviews
I had a horrible experience with this office. I heard wonderful things about Dr. Sugimoto so when my insurance placed me with him I was thrilled. I made an appointment and was told he was not accepting new patients. I then called my insurance and they said his profile said his office was accepting new patients. They got a hold of his office and only then did they make an appointment for me two months from the day. I was ok with that because I understood as a new patient my appointment would take longer at least that's what they told me. A few weeks later they called and cancelled stating I had a new doctor. I called and told them that was incorrect they where still my primary doctor. Again they told me they where not taking new patients. Months past and I forgot, it wasn't until now that I called my insurance to complain and they again reached out to the office where they gave me another appointment in March. I said that was too long and the insurance asked them for a closer date. They said they woukd call me, I said ok and they did call only to tell me they are not accepting patients. Why does this office have a profile saying they are accepting patients when they are clearly not. ......Not just that when I spoke to the receptionist I asked if they where able to see me if I had a cold or I took a fall within a week or less they said that I would have to go to urgent care of er because the doctor was too busy. Why would anyone choose this doctor as their primary if they aren't going to be sent else where.I had high expectations for this office and doctor sugimoto from the reviews I read, complete letdown.
Dr. Sugimoto is the best, most patient, empathetic Dr. I have ever come across. He makes you feel safe and secure ensuring he makes you feel at ease with any possible problems you may come across. Any concern with my pregnancy he immediately takes precaution. These are qualities you should find in a Dr. One who makes you feel safe and not stress you out. Debbie has been his nurse since I delivered my first child almost 14 years ago. She is excellent! They're so quick to respond to any questions on their ad portal. I'm so pleased with them both!
Sugimoto is the best thorough doctor. He doesn't push anything on you and he does not treat you like he's never seen you before. He never acts stressed out from the patient he just seen before you (like dr. vierra) and never rushes to leave. I just wish he could do c-sections.
Dr sugimoto has been my ob/gyn and family dr since 2010. He is amazing. He's funny and caring, makes me feel very comfortable every visit. Although he is extremely busy & hard to get an appointment with, I would not change drs in a million years. His MA Debbie is wonderful!!! I am very happy I am able to be seen by the two of them. With my last 2 births 2010& 2011 he was not able to deliver the babies. I really hope he is able to deliver this last one. :) Great job doctor !!!
An experienced, friendly, family practice doctor in Merced.
As a former resident of the hospital it was said he was one of the best "to go through". My experience working alongside him in the ICU and being his patient has me a believer.
Dr. Sugimoto is too busy and has too many patients. But I don't want to be the patient he has to let go of, so I completely understand. He is a great Dr. and we are lucky to have him in this town. His MA is great also.
Eventhough Dr. Sugimoto is a family practitioner his knowledge and abilities are more than the regular practicing Dr. After my pain management specialist left the area, I called around looking for a Dr. that can give trigger point injections. I found one, Dr. Sugimoto, and he let me keep all my medications. A friend found another Dr. that did not give injections, and slashed her meds so bad that she has little quality to her life. If not for her kids and grandkids, I think she would check out. I was very lucky to find Dr. Sugimoto.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
