Curtis Robinson's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Robinson charged me $193.00 for a phone call requesting a refill of antibiotics. On the bill it stated established office visit. I did not visit the office. I called rquesting a refill of the medication, which I got from a Dr. Deborah Miller, as dr. Robinson was not available or in office that day.The first phone call requesting help in obtaining medication cost $38.00. As I said, the second phone call was listed as an office visit, which it was not and cost $193.00. No one ever told me that when Dr. Miller would call me back, it would cost this much more. I already knew the cost of the first call. I have called Blue Cross and have a case #. This is unfair, outrageous, and a total rip-off.

Dr Robinson was my primary care doc for several years until his failure to diagnose an episode of congestive heart failure put me in the hospital. I had been feeling very unwell all day, shaking and vomiting. When I went to bed that night, I couldn't catch my breath and felt I would suffocate if I lay prone. After a miserable night of no sleeping, throwing up and struggling to breathe, I asked my husband to call Robinson's office. The doctor told my husband to go to the drug store and get me some mylanta. Several hours later, I was headed to the hospital in an ambulance with congestive heart failure. In my opinion, this is not good practice of medicine.Dr Robinson is just too hip, slick and cool for me - an old lady with lots of chronic health conditions. He seems to want patients who need treatment for tennis elbow and shin splints from running marathons - in other words, young people who are basically healthy. Anyone with a serious medical condition should beware. He is not the right practitioner for older folk.

I am a Medical Insurance Agent/Advisor, in Marin county for over 30 years. Also Certified by Covered Ca. It is important for me to know who the competent doctors are in my County. The name Curtis Robinson, MD was a recurring name mentioned by many of my clients. I finally met him. I sanction every praise given him and more. Dr Robinson has been my doctor for many years. His reputation as an excellent doctor superseded him. He is personable, caring, knowledgeable and very competent. It his evident that he enjoys his work. Perfect profession for him. His support staff is equally skilled and personable .Glad to be associated with his Practice. I feel comfortable with his care and look forward to my visits with him.

I continue to be amazed with the quality of care I receive from this office! Every single person I interact with his unbelievably great!

typical office with a office mgr that is easily angered if you request extra time and a longer appointment. i was told no way even though i was willing to pay extra consult fee for a longer length of time. i needed extra time to discuss private concerns and the nosy office manager told me no way, no how would i be allowed to discuss issues with the doctor unless i told explained the issues first and the mgr would discuss the issues first with the doctor and guess what, this is not a great way to handle private medical issues. the office mgr is a wack job.

I've been seen by Dr. Robinson for well over 12 years, and my husband saw him as well before he passed away in 2011. Dr. Robinson has a warm and friendly manner, takes a personal interest in his patients, and is an excellent diagnostician. To me it is very important to be a familiar face to the medical "team" to whom I entrust my health and its challenges at my age (83), and not have my Primary Care Physician look up from a file folder saying "Patricia?"Not only does Dr. Robinson remember me, but he remembers my medical issues and history. In my field of psychotherapy, there is a saying: "It's the relationship that cures." This holds true, I believe, for medical issues as well as mental health, both intricately connected to each other.

Dr Robinson seems not equipped to have patients with heart disease. His office does not have a EKG machine. My husband has severe heart problems and they removed us from him being our Dr which is better for us because they only want younger patients. They were completely inappropriate in how they treated us. I would not recommend this Dr. For anything. They only seem to be interested in getting more ...

I can't say that I've ever been a patient of Dr. Robinson's, though I certainly tried. In March 2021, I contacted Dr. Robinson's office seeking an appointment as a new patient and completed all of the required "paperwork" through the online patient portal. Subsequently, I received a call from his office to set an appointment date and time, confirm my insurance information. At this time, his office also discussed the annual administrative fee that is charged to cover administrative fees -- something I was willing to pay (though, on further investigation, it's not entirely clear that this is an appropriate or entirely legal practice...but that depends entirely on the agreement between the practitioner and the insurance carrier, to which patients aren't exactly privy...and I digress).Now, at this point, I've spent a fair bit of time completing paperwork, speaking with his office staff, and setting an appointment for roughly a week later. So imagine my surprise when, only a couple hours ahead of my scheduled appointment, his office contacts me and tells me they aren't sure his practice accepts my insurance. Wait...you aren't sure? My insurance carrier says Dr. Robinson accepts my insurance. We confirmed my insurance information when I set the appointment. And now you're not sure? But if I'd like, I'm welcome to come in, see the doctor, and perhaps everything will get sorted out...or maybe I'll be billed the full cost directly? Hmmm...I see.Needless to say, I don't need to see a doctor that can't give me a straight answer about whether my insurance is accepted at his practice. And by mutual agreement with his office, my appointment with Dr. Robinson was cancelled. And I've never contacted them again.All of this is why I was so surprised to receive a bill today from Dr. Robinson informing me that my annual administrative fee is now due. I am not a patient of Dr. Robinson's. I have never been a patient of Dr. Robinson's. And here they have the chutzpah to ask me to send payment for $225 (discounted to $195 if I pay by March 31...woo hoo!).I get it; healthcare costs are piling up. But make what you will of a medical practice that engages in the somewhat dubious practice of charging administrative fees to in-network insured patients. And think twice about a practice that sends a bill to someone who has never even been a patient because his office can't manage their own administrative issues (mind you, I was never compensated for the time I spent...*cough* wasted *cough*...with them).
