The doctor is great, he was very thorough and wonderful. The reason for the 3 stars is their ridiculous billing. I have been going back and forth with them for 2 months now about billing for my visit. Long story short, if you have not met your insurance deductible, you should tell them that you don't have insurance... the out of pocket pay is way more reasonable than them billing your insurance.

I went to Dr. Elmi recently for pain in my foot.   When I got there he had the imaging of my foot and wasted no time to discuss my options in detail, and wanted to know how I wanted to proceed.  I have a busy family and demanding job, so the issue with my foot was taking a toll on me in so many ways!  Dr. Elmi and his staff really went beyond my expectations to get me into surgery sooner than later so I could get back to my life.  There was no lack of communication what so ever, his staff made sure I understood everything I needed, even helped to make sure we got my spouse's paid time off paperwork filled out correctly.  After surgery, Dr. Elmi and his staff both checked on me a to make sure i was recovering well and if my husband and I had any questions.  Absolutely grateful for Dr. Elmi for his professionalism and compassion.  Looking forward to walking again!!! Thanks Doctor!

I was amazed at how knowledgeable, kind, and quickly he solved my problem of having a callus on the bottom of my foot - I had seen a couple of other podiatrists - one being at UCSF - and neither of them seemed to know what to do to stop the pain.  My son had used Dr. Elmi and highly recommended him and being very tired of limping around in pain all the time, and without much hope, decided to at least try one more doctor.  As I said at the beginning of this review, I could hardly believe how quickly and easily he not only got rid of the pain but showed me exactly what was causing it and exactly what insert to get and where to get it (REI).  I've been just fine every since and we're so lucky to have Dr. Elmi right here in Strawberry/Mill Valley - he's the best!

I am very happy with my care from Dr. Elmi, I had seen three other doctors in the area who couldn't figure out what was going on with my ankle pain, and Dr. Elmi identified the cause and provided the solution in a matter of minutes, I was astonished and am so thankful, I am finally back to running and living my life without pain, highly recommend him.

Dr. Elmi is wonderful.  I saw him for arch/ ball of foot pain and he was very knowledgeable and his recommendations were immediately helpful in resolving the pain.  I highly recommend him to anyone who is having issues with their feet.

I went and saw Dr. Elmi for my heel pain, and am VERY happy with the care I received. I had seen 2 other docs in the area, and they never even took the time to explain what was going on, Plantar Fasciitis. Dr. Elmi explained in detail why I was in so much pain, and showed pictures of the anatomy and everything made perfect sense. I happy to say that after initiating his course of care, I was back to running within 2 weeks, and felt like I got my life back. I found out later from my primary care that he is actually the Chief of Foot & Ankle Surgery at Marin General Hospital, makes sense..he's a great doc, highly recommend him!
